"Greetings, my faithful companions. My name is Zim. I've come to this school because I've noticed something interesting about you. Something that makes my inner self EXPLODE!!"
~ Zim presenting himself to his classmates.

Zim, better known as Invader Zim, or Feral Zim, is the titular main antagonist of the "Invader Zim Ultra Violence" AU, created by Colverdoom.

He is a power-hungry Irken who seeks to conquer Earth. However, unlike his original counterpart, this version is far more sadistic and cruel, frequently killing, torturing, eating and mutilating humans without showing remorse.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

In a pitched battle between the Irken Empire and the Resisty, Zim is captured and his PAK is modified to make his behavior much more aggressive. After that Zim is returned to planet Devastis (where Irkens trained their soldier) and with a vortian called Skar, he commits a massacre. Then, Zim moves to the Massive where he attacked The Tallests, leaving them with irreparable physical and psychological injuries (especially Red, whose lower jaw is chopped off). Zim is banished but he takes Tak with him as a hostage, (as well as GIR)

Arriving on Earth and meeting Dib[]

After successfully arriving on Earth, (alongside his assistant, GIR) Zim disguises himself as a human, and joins the school to get his first victims and learn about humans. There, he immediately catches Dib's attention, as the hologram had defects that gave clues to his true race, such as his three fingers and sharp teeth. In the cafeteria, Zim and Dib began their ever-lasting feud. Dib provokes the disguised Irken, almost starting a fight in the cafeteria. Dib's sister, Gaz, stops the fight by splashing Zim with a cup of soda, ruining his disguise.

After the incident, Zim runs away from the school. Back at his base, he accesses the switchboard, and it reveals that he is carrying a parasite transmitted by Skar, that causes him to act deranged.

Meeting Keef[]

After a week, two girls disappear from the school, and Dib immediately suspects Zim as the culprit. The fact that he was reading a book about eating humans only worsens his outlook. In the cafeteria, while Keef is looking for an apple, Zim takes advantage of the situation, eats his friend's mashed potatoes, and regurgitates them. Dib is the only one who notices, and goes to confront him. Unfortunately, the paranormal investigator had no one else to back him up, and everyone thought he was just making fun of Zim, earning general contempt that Zim knew how to take advantage of very well, feigning sadness and gaining the support of Keef and his other companions. Dib escapes to the bathroom and Keef eats the mashed potatoes that Zim regurgitated.

After a while, Keef says he has to go to the bathroom, and Zim accompanies him. When he tells Zim that he didn't feel comfortable with him looking at him while he urinates, he reveals his true personality, subdues Keef while he's urinating, and tries to insert a chip into his anal cavities. Dib, who was hiding in one of the cubicles, reveals himself, punches Zim in the face, and rescues Keef. Angered, Zim uses his lightning bolt to knock them out, and gets them back to his base.

Enslaving Dib[]

Dib (who now has a large scar on his forehead) wakes up chained in a cell. Although Zim wasn't physically in the cell, he made Dib put his hands in a sink full of injections to remove a key that would free him from his chains, only to mock him by pointing out that right next to him he had a glove to protect himself, but due to his impulsiveness he didn't notice it. In fact, that characteristic is exactly what Zim wants to change in the one he calls "his new slave". His first order of business was to kill Keef, whom he kept in a capsule with sharp spikes. Pressing a button was all he had to do to make the spiked ceiling fall on the boy, but of course Dib refused to be responsible for such a vile act. Zim gets annoyed and presses the button instead, allowing Dib to watch Keef get crushed. He then locked his new slave back in the cell, warning him that he'd have to do his dirty work any moment now.

After a few days, Zim returns to Dib's cell with a surprise. He brought their school partner Zita with him. She had shown interest in Zim from the start, and he took full advantage of that. The girl's condition was degrading, and her suffering was just beginning. With the help of his computer, Zim tied Zita to a table, while mechanical arms prevented her from closing her mouth and eyes. The alien took the opportunity to touch her private parts, arguing that that was what she was looking for. The orders were clear; Dib would tear out her eyes, while Zim did the same to her teeth. At first, Dib doesn't feel like contradicting him, but halfway through his task, he doesn't have the strength to continue. A furious Zim seems ready to retaliate against Dib for his inability to harm others, but the appearance of Gir makes him regain his composure. The small robot was carrying a mask in his hands, which Zim planned to use in one of the most macabre parts of his plan. It turns out that the mask was for mind control, or as the Irken told him, "bringing out the inner ugliness." After that, it is suspected that he used Dib to gut Zita, although it is also possible that he did it himself.

Dib's first murder[]

Zim decided to break Dib completely, and to do that, he made Dib kill his own father, Professor Membrane, with the mask on. This plan was carried out one night when the professor was feeling particularly depressed due to Dib's prolonged absence. The boy, being controlled, secretly entered his hunt and, taking advantage of Gaz's sleeping state, slit his throat with a butcher knife. Furthermore, Zim deliberately overrode the mind control so Dib could watch, with his consciousness intact, his father die because of him.

The shock was too great, and Dib fainted, so Zim sent Gir to find him. When the human recovered, he confronted Gir about his father's death. He finally decided to confront his master, telling him that Dib shouldn't have to bear all the burden placed on him just because of his obsession with destroying everything. Surprisingly, Zim wasn't angered by his servant's comment, allowing him to free Dib, but of course, he wasn't going to let him go just like that. He turned his base into a terrifying labyrinth and who knows what kind of dangers Dib will have to confront to finally escape such a miserable life.

The Assassination[]

While Dib searches for a way out of Zim's house, the alien has his own problems. It turns out Dib isn't the only prisoner he's holding. While at school while it's on lockdown (for reasons unspecified in the story), he's attacked by his classmate Gretchen. Although she seemingly manages to kill him by crushing him through a wall of spikes, the alien proves incredibly resilient by still being alive and strong enough to dislodge the trap. Gretchen flees and climbs to the roof. There, she proves she isn't in fact Gretchen, but Tak, who collapses.

It turns out the real Gretchen had already been captured and killed by Zim, a fact Dib discovers the hard way, finding her corpse thrown away like garbage. Zim returns to his base, wounded but steadfast, with a new plan to torment Dib and break him completely.

Using two creations he had in store (Clembrane and a miniature Professor Membrane robot with a speaker to talk through it), he subdues Dib, and while Clembrane scalps him, the Irken speaks through the small robot, mocking him and considering himself responsible for ruining Dib's life. He subsequently knocks him unconscious, but does not kill him yet. Instead, he leaves him hanging from the ceiling of a secluded room, with his mouth sewn shut, surrounded by dolls of his deceased comrades, with recorders of Zim saying that he should stop trying to be a hero, that he just wants attention, that he never really cared about his comrades and that they didn't care about him either, etc. In that same room, Dib finds the mask that Zim placed on him earlier, as well as a gauntlet full of weapons. He puts on the mask and gloves, ready to kill Zim once and for all.

Final Fight with Dib[]

Taking advantage of the fact that Dib and Zim were face to face, ready for combat, Tak (who had been rescued by Gaz) arrives at Zim's base. GIR decides to betray Zim and help Tak defeat him.

Dib and Zim engage in a fight that wreaks havoc in Zim's lair. There, the alien demonstrates another of his abilities, developing an extra pair of arms that, combined with the mechanical legs of his PAK, make him superior to Dib. But just when it seemed Zim was about to defeat Dib, he is run through by a chainsaw. The culprit is Gaz, who discovered Zim thanks to the information Tak gave her. However, despite being impaled in the stomach, Zim is still alive—and not just alive, but also with four pairs of arms and more furious than ever.

The Membrane siblings knew they had no chance of defeating him, so following Tak's instructions, they fled the place, heading to a room where there was a huge bottomless pit. Tak holds onto the walls of the pit with the legs of her PAK and tells the two humans to jump and that she would catch them. However, they don't jump in time and Zim catches them. But instead of attacking the siblings, he goes to Tak and rips off the legs of her PAK, which makes her fall into the void along with Dib and Gaz. Fortunately for them, GIR is also present and, controlling the computer's mechanical arms, saves the three of them, while burying her master in a mountain of pipes.

Still trapped between the mountain of mechanical arms and pipes, Zim becomes enraged at GIR for not doing his job properly. GIR confronts his master about all the pain he caused, first to the Irkens and now to the humans. Zim tells him that the Irkens deserved everything he did to them, arguing how cruel they are in their own way, and that all the harm he caused, no matter how sadistic and perverse it may seem, was justified. He then attempts to manipulate him, telling him that Tak, being an Irken, is not helping them out of kindness, but out of revenge against him. He tells GIR that if they kill him, they will leave Earth defenseless against the Irken Empire. GIR seems to hesitate, but then composes himself, replying that it is his word against his and that he will fulfill his duty to protect his loved ones, as he promised (and failed to assure) the Almighty Tallest, thus activating a self-destruct sequence. Zim accepts his death, but warns GIR that his decision doomed the planet.

The small robot warns Gaz, Tak, and Dib to take cover, but not before asking them to be extra careful. GIR self-destructs, and although the impact leaves the humans and Tak unconscious, they are still alive. This is not the case with Zim.

Aftermath[]

Gaz wake up in pain. Dib is still unconscious, but Tak has been awake for a while. She tells Gaz that she'll search the base for parts to repair their ship and warn The Tallest that Zim has been neutralized. Gaz confronts Tak, asking if Zim was right about them coming to invade Earth. Tak doesn't deny it, but as thanks, she'll tell their leaders not to.

Gaz wonders why Zim wants to destroy everyone, but Tak clarifies that he apparently only attacks invasive species, especially the Irken. Although they both notice too many flaws in his reasoning, they decide to ignore it. Gaz wakes Dib, and they both leave, while Tak stays at the base.

The alien heads to a room where Zim's remains lay on a table, only it wasn't actually Zim: it was Tak. And the real Tak was Zim himself, disguised with his holograms. Zim had survived the explosion and, taking advantage of his enemies' unconscious state, impersonated Tak, mutilating the real one, though without killing her.

Zim seemed quite annoyed with Tak, not for his betrayal, but rather for telling a distorted version of himself. He didn't consider himself a vigilant or anti-hero who watched over the safety of defenseless species by massacring invaders. None of that was in line with his ideals. He only killed because he wanted to, and he didn't like Tak's attempt to clean up his image at all.

Quotes[]

I put my dick in the blender and my hands in the toaster!
~ Zim's trying to socialize for the first time with a human
Of course. I know what I'm trying to achieve. That's my main goal. You know, destruction, eternal suffering, revenge. But first, I want to have fun. And I'm fully aware that I inherited that from you. I know you're in my blood, bastard.
~ Zim monologuing about the origin of his sadistic personality implanted by Skar
I thought you were smart, but I was wrong. If you want to play rough, that's fine by me. I'll rip your belly open, and your organs will be a feast for my palate. SO... YOU DECIDE!
~ Zim after Dib refuses to kill Keef
GIR: This planet doesn't deserve the same fate you brought upon the Irkens.
Zim: No, no, no. You're misunderstanding. You and I know the statistics for planets invaded by Irkens. More than half die. The rest are even part of child slavery. Invading is abhorrent, GIR. You know that's not why I'm here.
GIR: But you made humans suffer just for the fun of it!
Zim: IRKENS WILL CAME HERE TO INVADE ANYWAY!
~ Zim trying to manipulate GIR after he betrayed him

Personality[]

He tends to be cold and methodical. When he's pretending to be human, he's distant, but possesses a charm that makes him go unnoticed, except in his early days, when, as he wasn't so sure of Earthling customs, he had some extravagant and uncomfortable attitudes.

When he gets upset, his cold personality doesn't disappear completely, as he likes to humiliate his captives with words, without the need for much physical harm. There are times when he explodes with fury, becoming extremely rude and violent. The one who suffered this attitude the most was Gir, on whom Zim seems to take it out very often.

He also seems to feel disgust for certain human emotions, especially love, although it is quite clear whether it is due to a misinterpretation or a genuine dislike when he perfectly understands love and realizes that it is the opposite of what he professes.

Trivia[]

  • This is (so far) the only version of Zim to be on this wiki.
  • His composure and attitude are inspired by the villain Toffee from Star vs the Forces of Evil.
  • In this AU, Professor Membrane is a fervent Catholic who, although he loves his children, his faith leads him to misunderstand their hobbies (like Gaz and his video games). That's why he takes the idea that Dib isn't so sane because of his paranormal investigations more seriously.
