I'm here for power. Not political power, or power from profit. I'm seeking true power. The power over life... and death and all of creation. And I seek to have that power, I seek to become immortal.
~ Prophet of Chaos

The Prophet of Chaos, also known as The Chaos Priest is a recurring villain in the Multiversal Legends mythos. He was a mad warlock who was part of a deranged cult of extremists who sought to "perfect" the world of sin as ordered by their god Rullos. However he was eventually treated as an outcast by the other cultists for his obsession with immortality and his allegiances with other even more despicable deities. The Prophet would later become a lich once he sacrificed each of his own children to the most wicked and disgusting entities across the infinite multiverse and gained a magical book capable of bringing mass destruction called The Book of Ruin.

Though rather enigmatic, his only desire is to be immortal and avoid death as much as possible. Turning himself into a lich as a result for his quest, the dark prophet has traveled across the planet spreading misery and pain in his travels. His reason for his desires for immortality was his recurring visions of his dark fate at the hands of cosmic horrors (given to him by the wicked Xorin).

Biography[]

The origins of the dark prophet remains to be a mystery due to him erasing any leads to his past. The only known trace to his past is that he was a mad and ambitious warlock in a cult of delusional perfectionist who's god is tyrannical destroyer god known as Rullos. However he received visions of his demise at the hands of forces who he has yet to encounter until years later, these were given to him by a mysterious eldritch creature of chaos. He seeks to become immortal no matter what the cost and causes may be.

His quest for immortality leads him to contact other dark creatures and entities such as Nekrozoth, Xorin, Vekkisul and all sorts of entities of darkness and chaos. Through them he was given a powerful book of dark secret and knowledge possessed by a dark entity called "The Book of Ruin" which granted him Lichdom. These practices horrified his fellow cultists and even angered Rullos himself which lead him to his banishment. However he slaughtered all of the members of the mad cult and cast Rullos to the Pandora Dimension. The Prophet has traveled across the Earth bringing destruction to cities and causing death where ever he goes. He eventually rested in a mountain for thousands of years, often summoning demons to find him victims to terrorize the small village near the mountain so he use their fear to keep him alive due to his new found hunger for fear and terror.

The Prophet would do battle with the Champions across Phase 5-6, eventually he became immortal but at the price of being condemned to eternal torment at the hands of Xorin and the Leviathans.

Appearance[]

The Prophet dressed in an old brown hood and robe, with silver features on it. He also has a golden glove on his left hand and has a grey right hand. He is always seen carrying his sentient Book of Ruin with him as he is never seen without it with only a few rare incidences. The Prophet is also known for his golden masks which hides his face from others. Underneath his closing is something that of an undead decaying wizard with his skin peeling and shows that he may have leprosy. He also has some Egyptian wrappings on him as well and looks like a walking corpse. In other words he a zombie like lich.

Personality[]

Y'know why mortals are so dangerous? It's because they have to think for everything they don't know, it creates an ambition that can end worlds.
~ Animon/Anizoth on Prophet of Chaos

The Prophet is an enigmatic figure but is known for his ruthless ambitions and desires, one of which is his desire to be invulnerable and achieve absolute immortality. His desires leads him to commit various evil deeds that even his fellow cultists finds him to be deranged. He is perhaps the most power-hungry mortal that ever walked the Earth that even Nekrozoth himself saw him as the most vile creature he has ever encountered due to having no sense of morality or standards in his pursuit for immortality. He is known for his immense cruelty and destructive behavior as he has brought ruin to many ancient cities in the past and shows to not tolerate to interference, insults, or those who try to touch his Book of Ruin. He is completely remorseless, and tends to express cruelty onto others by condemning their souls to be tortured or turning them into stones while being aware of their status.

However he has a very sophisticated personality, acting cordial, polite, calm, and remains tolerates the personality of others unless provoked. He also plays fair and can be seen as honorable, but this is shown to be a fake sense of honor as he wanted to give his victims a false since of hope since he smugly thinks he'll win no matter what. Though this is not out of sadism though, but if he ever loses in his games then he tends to act as a sore loser and give his victims a deadly curse out of spite. But regardless, he is a man of his word who keeps his end of the bargain and never back out on his agreements. He keep his word when he promise to let Animazoth that he won't tell his father that he is secretly a traitor, and when he meets Nekrozoth again he doesn't mention that Animazoth is actually helping the heroes secretly. He is also arrogant, as his new found powers over the dark forces allowed him to be feared by even the Gods themselves and respected by the demons across the Earth.

His affability is often genuine, even for a vicious sorcerer like him, as he tries to be negotiable and talk things out first before he ever gets into a fight. Despite his malicious behavior, even he is not so fond of Nekrozoth and his sons, showing that he has some bit of morality in him after all. When he summoned Niklovich, he was expressed some disgust on doing so showing that even he can't stand Niklovich's psychotic behavior.

While my actions are indeed horrific, I can at least I can retain some "manners", Mr. Benlock. Manners I wish to maintain for your betterment should you ever provoke me.
