Foxy the Pirate Fox, known simply as Foxy the Pirate, is a major antagonist in the The Return to Freddy's series.

He appears as a major antagonist in The Return to Freddy's, The Return to Freddy's 2, and The Return to Freddy's 3, a posthumous antagonist in The Return to Freddy's 4 and a supporting antagonist in The Return to Freddy's: The Dreadful Truth.

He is an animatronic fox created by Fazbear Incorporated. Despite being a happy, fun-loving performer during the day, Foxy contains a fragment of Lockjaw's soul which causes his aggressive behavior during the night.

Appearance[]

The Return to Freddy's 1 & 2[]

Foxy is an crimson-colored anthropomorphic fox animatronic with a lighter shade of red for the fur on his stomach and ears. His pelvis is colored brown to represent him wearing brown, ripped pants. As opposed to his design in the second game, Foxy's legs have been stripped of their fur and expose his endoskeleton legs, which are silver and thin. His jaw is filled with sharp plastic teeth and he has yellow eyes and an eyepatch.

The Return to Freddy's 3[]

Foxy appears to be extremely worn down with numerous rips and tears littering his body, mainly his arms and upper legs. The fur around his left ear is noticeably missing.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Foxy was built in 1985 to be an entertainer of the newly opened Fredbear's Family Diner alongside his other animatronic companions.

In September of 1987, an unnamed child known as "BFP" was murdered by the diner's founder and owner, Vincent, and skewered inside one of the spare suits. Enraged, BFP fragmented his soul and placed the scattered parts inside the animatronics, making them aggressive.

The Return to Freddy's[]

Foxy will become active on Night 2, although he can also rarely activate on Night 1.

Once activated, Foxy will have three different phases before making his way to the Office. He will first appear behind the curtain in Pirate Cove, remaining unseen behind the curtain. His second phase will feature him peeking out from behind the curtain with his hook tugging on the curtain, and his third phase will show him exiting the Pirate Cove stage, standing outside the stage and preparing to make his way to the Office. Once he's completely abandoned Pirate Cove he'll appear in the West Hall camera before entering the Office. Once he appears, the player must throw on the Freddy mask to make him go away.

The Return to Freddy's 2[]

After being embowed with a fragment of BFP's soul, Foxy becomes extremely aggressive and starts attacking security guards.

Foxy is dormant in Party Room 2, although he remains offscreen until he activates, which he does so and reveals himself on Night 2. Once he's seen in Party Room 2, Foxy head towards the Office and stand outside it in the hallway, and unlike the other animatronics, he won't be fooled by the Freddy mask, prompting the player repeatedly shine the flashlight on him to deter him from entering. On rare occasions, Foxy will head into the East Hall.

The Return to Freddy's 3[]

After being found by a few teenagers in the abandoned location from the first game, Foxy, still powered by BFP's soul fragment, goes on the hunt one more time.

Foxy will activate on Night 2 and the only camera Foxy appears on is CAM 11, the camera he starts on. Once Foxy moves from CAM 11 he'll appear to the player outside the Office in the hallway. To make Foxy go away, the player will have to activate the corrupt signal on the system panel or close the CAM 11 door, otherwise he'll make his way into the Office and kill you.

Foxy is finally destroyed when Fazbear Fantasy Land is demolished, destroying the animatronics and releasing BFP's soul and the fragments he left behind.

Trivia[]

If the player clicks on Freddy's mouth during the first cutscene of The Return to Freddy's, it will trigger an Easter egg of an eyeless Foxy.
There is a slight chance in The Return to Freddy's 2 for glitch will occur that results in Foxy avoiding the player if they equip the Freddy mask.
In The Return to Freddy's 3, Foxy appears to be missing his lower jaw and nose when he appears in the hallway outside the Office.
Alongside Chica, Foxy doesn't have a showbiz animatronic counterpart in The Return to Freddy's 4.
