“ | Our own beam of hope isn't going to be very impressed with these current mishaps. Perhaps you could lend me your leg for a second? I just need a little bit of blood. Hehehe! | „ |
~ Frank's twisted side. |
“ | Oh, I see how things are gonna be... You were our only messiah, your only followers, and you decide to give up on us? Well then... If that's how it is gonna be, then the deal is off. No return, you lanky bastard! I've always wanted to be the messiah of my cult for awhile anyways! As the Eye, I shall lead this redundant planet to a zero-return point. No one will live; only us. | „ |
~ Frank losing it after hearing about Slenderman's redemption; his most famous quote. |
Frank is the overarching antagonist of the Rememberence franchise.
He serves as the main antagonist of the prequel ARG Repressed Memories, one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Geminald) of Rememberence, and a posthumous antagonist in the tie-in sequel novel Forgotten Troubles.
He is a psychotic cultist who leads the Twisted Gaze, a cult that both worships Slenderman and tries to bring about the day of disaster.
He is voiced by SleepingGuy, the creator of the series itself.
History[]
Origins[]
The only time we really see Frank's origins is when he is sitting outside of a burning house which was later revealed to be his. Frank seemed neutral about this, not sad or happy. But then at one point, a mysterious, tall entity came to him and lent him a hand. Frank seemed amused by this, and decided to join Slenderman. This would, sooner or later, lead to the formation of the Twisted Gaze cult.
Frank would often preform several unethical experiments on many members, from mutating to gene-splitting, the second being what ultimately gave birth to two separate entities.
Season 1[]
During episode 10 of season 1, Frank is seen with his fellow cultists (along with Oddity) near a town. Suddenly, Frank pulls out his spellbook and casts a spell onto the town. The spell he used causes the nearby town to be set ablaze. Pleased with this, Frank and his fellow cultists go over to another nearby town.
Frank uses the same spell again, but this time signals to Oddity to attack the town, leaving many injure and/or killed. Frank then reduced the spells cast onto the towns, leaving them obliterated. He would later go over to both of the towns to kidnap anyone that survived the incident.
Season 2[]
In episode 3 of season 2, Jason Hemwig goes over to infiltrate the Twisted Gaze to gather some information. Once he finally reaches the Hall of Photos, Frank can be seen berating Oddity over not being stable for a day. Thanks to Jason Hemwig's clumsiness over tripping over a rock, Frank easily heard his prescense. This causes Frank to freeze Jason's legs before whacking him over the head with his own spellbook. Frank then unfreezes Jason before taking him to the Slavery room.
Once Jason woke up, he finds alot of mutated people, the victims that Frank had kidnapped and enslaved. Frank reveals to Jason that he is only keeping them alive so he can commence the day of disaster. (or in his words, putting on a show for the entirety of the world to see") Thankfully, Jason managed to snap the ropes that were holding him together, which causes him to break free. Angered by this situation, Frank releases Oddity and another mutant to kill Jason.
Luckily for Jason, the gates were just closing in, so he easily slides under the gates, leaving Oddity and the mutant stranded. Enraged by this, Frank whacks Oddity over the head with his spellbook before sending the mutant back into his cell as punishment. Fustrated, Frank decides to cast a wall of fire to prevent Jason from going any further. Jason Hemwig then had the choice of dying at the hands of Frank or being burnt alive. Jason decided to choose the latter, and run straight into the fire, killing him in the process.
Season 3[]
Frank only makes a short and brief appearance at the end of season 3, where he receives a visit from Slenderman, asking him for a favor.
Season 5[]
At the beginning of season 5, Frank approaches Smith Jones' house. In glee, he casts the same spell he used to burn down the two towns, but this time it was to burn down Smith's house. This causes Smith to panic and jump out the window. Unbeknown to Smith, Frank sneaks up behind him and kidnaps him, before reducing the fire.
Smith, tied up to a wall, is introduced to Frank for the first time. Frank explains how annoyed Slenderman is with Smith and begins to peel off a part of his leg. Frank then admits that he just needs a little bit of blood for a procedure. Unbeknown to Frank, Smith had managed to escape. Frank then goes to search for Smith in a hurry before seeing a mutated slave's lifeless body. Saddened by this, Frank mourns the death of the mutant before the camera cuts back to Smith Jones, heavily injured by the situation.
Season 9[]
Frank makes yet another brief appearance at the end of season 9 during a flashback where it was revealed that he had indeed set fire to his own house to kill his family, simply because they were "redundant". This is why Frank had the neutral look on his face during his origin story.
Season 10[]
Frank makes a brief appearance in season 10 during episode 7, where after hearing of Slenderman's redemption, he severes ties with him. With no one else to continue the legacy of the Twisted Gaze, he became the patron deity of the Twisted Gaze under the alias of "the Eye".
In episode 8, Frank is introduced to Jason Hemwig once again. Upon noticing him, Frank became completely willing to kill him once again. Frank had even mentioned the desires of how he would kill Jason. This caused Frank to cast a spell onto himself, to which he merged himself with everyone in the vicinity of the area he was in. This caused Frank to go under the name of "Frightful" afterwards.
In episode 9, whilst crushing Jason to near death, he would go on to terrorize five more towns along the way. And as soon as he almost killed Jason, THOUGHT regained conciousness, causing Frank to implode. Frank, incapacitated, mutters that he wish he'd never met THOUGHT, which prompts the latter to kill him. Under the name of the Eye, THOUGHT kills off Jason Hemwig, leading to another revival.
Appearance[]
Frank is seemingly a man in his 30s. When he was young, he did have green eyes and short dark brown hair. Nowadays, he wears a dark blue cloak with the hood hiding his facial features. His cloak also had yellow button-like lines on them. As seen with his hands, he is shown to have a fair skin tone.
As Frightful, however, Frank grows so big that for a majority of the episode he appeared as Frightful, he is left completely out of view, only seen during his final moments as the latter and from a distance. From what we can gather, Frank's skin colour is now slightly rotting, and is covered in scabs and blood. Two appendages are seen visibly sticking out from his back, his cloak is now tattered and multiple milky eyes can be visibly seen on him, with some sticking out. Noticeably, Frightful's fists have now been enlarged.
His lower part is now even more disturbing, having multiple mouths and eyes on it and even more blood stains are shown. And where his legs are meant to be are replaced with even more tentacle-like appendages. What Frightful looks like underneath the cloak remains a mystery however.
Personality[]
“ | Even if you do consider yourself to be in the right, your actions only prove that you are just a selfish psycho who only cared about yourself. | „ |
~ Smith Jones provoking Frank, moments before having a part of his leg peeled off. |
Frank is shown to be a relentless, psychotic madman who led a cult of similar-minded individuals. Frank is also shown to be incredibly harsh on his mutated slaves (or even to Oddity), often punishing them if they fail to get a simple task done.
Frank, at first glance, seemed to have remained loyal to Slenderman, even seemingly caring for him along with his fellow mutated slaves. Those traits would later be subverted however, leaving Frank to become the madman he was.

Trivia[]
- Frank's name was originally inspired by Frank Morrison from Dead by Daylight.
- The creator has stated that Frank is still dead and will remain dead throughout the series.
- As stated by the creator, he finds Frank to be the most scariest and terrifying villain he made for Rememberence and his entire Slenderverse as a whole, and stated that he shook in fear at least three times while writing the last pieces of Frank's arc.
- This was mainly because Frank's last bits were inspired by Muscular from the My Hero Academia series, specifically his gruesome transformation and sadistic delight.
