Fredbear is the overarching antagonist of Season 1 in Tony Crynight's animated YouTube cartoon series Five Nights at Freddy's, very loosely based on the video-game horror franchise of the same name. He is the archenemy of Freddy Fazbear.

He was the owner of the original restaurant, Fredbear's Family Diner, before he was killed by Freddy, which ultimately drove Springtrap into who he is in the series. Mangle has his chip, which was ultimately the reason why he was revived.

He is voiced by Jonathan Jones (Laphin Hyena), who also voices Bonnie, Freddy and Springtrap.

Personality[]

At first, Fredbear was a nice animatronic, doing the business side of his restaurant and being good friends with Springtrap. However, he never liked Freddy or his friends, and once went into a fight with him.

While Springtrap was truly a nice person who didn't want to hurt anyone, Fredbear showed no problem with killing Freddy, and it's implied that he forced Springtrap into doing it with him.

After being revived by Springtrap, he was a sadistic, cruel, vengeful and almost predatory thing, throwing and hurting Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, under Springtrap's order. He still liked Springtrap, despite everything else. It seems that the only thing he can say is "it's me", which Freddy pointed out.

Due to having the same chip as Mangle, Mangle was locked deep inside his mind, and eventually was set free.

Biography[]

Past[]

Fredbear owned a diner named after him, Fredbear's Family Diner, with his best and seemingly only friend, Springtrap. But one day, Freddy Fazbear showed up and had big plans for the diner, eventually thinking about getting new characters, but compared to Springtrap, Fredbear hated them and Freddy overall, getting into a fight with him at one point. Eventually, Fredbear thinks that Freddy needs to be killed, and attempts to do it with Springtrap. But, the two fail, as Freddy gets Fredbear's hammer and hits a wall, making it crumble and kill Fredbear, only for Springtrap to be kicked out. Springtrap hid in the warehouse, and started putting Fredbear back together, plotting his revenge. But, Fredbear's chip now went to Mangle, so no matter what, Fredbear can't be turned on.

Part 12[]

Fredbear is seen on flasbacks when Springtrap tells his backstory. At the end, Springtrap shows Fredbear's corpse.

Part 13[]

Springtrap reveals that Fredbear's chip is now Mangle's chip, which will allow Fredbear to be revived, but Mangle to power off. Springtrap ultimately turns on the remote, turning Fredbear on.

Part 14[]

At the end, Fredbear slowly appears behind Springtrap, saying "it's me".

Part 15[]

Springtrap orders Fredbear to get Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, and Fredbear does so and quickly knocks out Freddy, Chica and Bonnie, only for Foxy to jump at him and attack him with his hook, but Fredbear quickly gets Foxy off him by hitting a wall and kicking Foxy, just in time for Freddy to get up. Fredbear attacks Freddy with the exact same hammer he used years ago. While Freddy and Fredbear are fighting, Foxy stabs Springtrap. Fredbear tries to attack Foxy, only for Freddy to hit him in the head, making him fall on his knees. Although Freddy tries to kill Fredbear, Foxy tells him that Mangle is inside Fredbear, but he doesn't know what that means, besides the fact that she can be brought back. And then, Springtrap resets Foxy. Everyone, except Bonnie (who still hasn't waken up), watches as Springtrap laughs.

Part 16[]

After Springtrap dies, Fredbear angrily tries to hit Freddy, although Freddy stops him and speaks to Mangle, locked inside Fredbear. After a while, Mangle awakens, deep inside Fredbear. Mangle is powered on and goes to her body, while Fredbear is turned off, stopping him for good and making Springtrap's plan all for nothing.

Part 17[]

Springtrap, who actually survived, has gone insane and has a tea party with Fredbear's corpse.

Trivia[]

Fredbear and Springtrap both share the role of the main antagonist, as they both have the same amount of importance.
Despite being almost rebuilt by Springtrap, Fredbear’s CPU may have been disabled from getting crushed by the wall in the past.
Fredbear’s eyes turn pink when he is revived from getting switched off by Mangle and says “It’s Me” because that could’ve been his only and final words before he died by Freddy.
The quote “It’s Me” actually comes from a FNAF quote when the actual Golden Freddy says It’s Me in the video game to recognize his brother by misunderstanding that the security guard is Springtrap
Fredbear could be a foil to Mangle, both wanted to get revenge on their sworn enemies by murdering them.

Chica destroyed Mangle’s body leaving her head as an endo skeleton and Mangle got revenge on her and attempted to destroy her back (along with Bonnie; even when he launched the book towards Mangle)
Freddy makes the pizzeria into a bunch and adds new robots, Fredbear gets jealous from this and attempts to kill Freddy with a giant mallet but fails and gets crushed from the wall and becomes rebuilt)

In Five Nights at Bubblegums, Fredbear has his tiny pupils in his eyes instead of pink light.
