Hans Fitzgard, later known as the mascot Freddy Fazbear, is a major antagonist of the 2023 horror fanfilm Five Nights at Freddy's.

He is the lead mascot in the Fazbear Pizza store, and one of Michael's friends, although he was brainwashed by Vanny and The Mimic to serve them and help them kill Michael, Mike, Vanessa and whoever stands in their way.

He is actually possessed by Vanessa's adoptive brother Hans, who happened to be one of the four children murdered by Vanny/Will Afton with Samuel Afton's help. After The Mimic was destroyed and Freddy was set free along with his friends, Hans' soul was seen thanking the protagonists, before it went up to heaven.

He is portrayed by Roman Griffin Davis in his first villainous role.

History[]

As a child, he used to live with Vanessa as his adoptive sister and two unnamed parents. He used to be a big time fan of Freddy Fazbear and he took Vanessa to see his shows too. Hans asked the greeter Samuel Afton to see Freddy. but Samuel told him that Freddy is out of control, at first refusing to let them meet each other. As Vanessa came and Hans wanted for her too see it with him, Samuel as part of his plans with Will Afton let them see Freddy. Freddy mutilated Hans, causing Vanessa to run out of the shop all scared and shocked from her brother's presumed death. Unknowingly to them both, it wasn't really Freddy who attacked them, since Will Afton disguised himself as Freddy and then he pushed the heavily injured Hans into Freddy's material, forcing his body parts to remain inside the robots and the soul to be stuck inside and feel pain forever more.

Later, Freddy is seen secretly helping Michael out of Will Afton's death trap, before giving his teddybear back to him. Freddy tries to make friends out of pure kindness, but Will Afton interrupts and orders Michael to go home, as Michael refused to do so and told Freddy to protect him from Will's wrath. However, Samuel then came with a remote control and as he used it, Freddy was shocked until he would obey The Mimic's commands again.

Freddy Fazbear then watched over Vanessa, who was kidnapped by Bonnie. While Bonnie and Freddy watched her under The Mimic's orders, with plans to kill her later as Vanny wanted, Vanessa asked Freddy for water, and although she ran off and overpowered Bonnie to escape thus knocking the animatronic out, Freddy did comedically come back with a cup of water.

Freddy and his mates then stood with Vanny who prepared them for a final confrontation against Mike and his two allies. The animatronics however were free from The Mimic's control, so they went against Vanny and attacked him with vengeful intentions, before the souls would go to heaven. After Mike defeated Vanny at 6 am exactly, Hans' ghost is freed from the animatronic, and Hans thanks the trio of protagonists before he and his mates go up to heaven.

Personality[]

Freddy/Hans Fitzgard is a kind and gentle beast, or in actual, a formerly damned soul stuck inside an animatronic. He had been possessed for a long while by The Mimic, which was created to keep the animatronics and their souls under William Afton's control. Freddy was very friendly to his mate animatronics, helping them fight against Vanny near the end. He finally redeemed himself when The Mimic was destroyed and he was set free, first from Vanny's influence and then from despair, as his soul went up to heaven after it was seen thanking Mike and his friends.

Trivia[]

He is the only mascot/victim who had his original name revealed, and the most prominent one out of the four mascots.
Without The Mimic's control and Vanny's influence, Freddy would not be a villain in the first place.
