Frisk is the main protagonist of Undertale. They're a human that fell into the underground and embark on a journey back home. However, Frisk serves as a secondary antagonist in Friday Night Funkin': Indie Cross and an antagonistic Main Character in the animated series on YouTube.
Appearance[]
Just like in Undertale, Frisk is a young human child whose age, gender and ethnicity are all unknown. They have brown hair with a bit of bangs. Frisk also has a constantly blank expression, reflecting their apathy and lack of emotion. Though the game sometimes describes they are making other expressions. They wear a striped light magenta and blue shirt, blue pants, and brown shoes.
Personality[]
Throughout Undertale, Frisk is portrayed as a "silent protagonist". Depending on how the player wants to play and the choices they make, they can be either good or evil.
But in both the FNF: Indie Cross Mod and its animated series of the same name, Frisk is portrayed as their genocidal variant, willing to kill anyone and anything in their path Sans, The Knight, Madeline, and the drone army and even Charolette.
Biography[]
Friday Night Funkin': Indie Cross[]
In this mod, The Human arrives at The Last Corridor to kill Sans only to find him rapping against Boyfriend. In the Pacifist Route, they manage to break through the barrier after some time and attempts to assassinate Sans but fails and is consequently killed themselves as a result. In the Genocide Route, they use Chara's influence to possess Boyfriend's body and face off against Sans while using the rapper as a medium. While Sans manages to overpower the possessed Boyfriend, it was then revealed that he was merely a distraction and Frisk finally lands a killing blow on the titular skeleton - though in his final moments, Sans kills them in return by protruding bones from underneath their footing and skewers them.
Frisk Vs. Nightmare Sans[]
In the beginning of the video, it shows a white silhouette of Frisk walks through a black void with the souls of monsters that they killed as text above explains that they've done so many genocide routes and wonders if there's a possibility to stop them.
The video then cuts to Frisk walking through The Last Corridor which now has a bluer lighting. They then meet Sans there as he talks about how he's aware that even death can't stop them before telling Frisk they prepared a surprise for them (Which was his new Nightmare form). Sans then decided not to explain how he obtained it and asks Frisk to tell them when they give up. Frisk responds by instantly attacking Nightmare Sans. But no matter how much damage they did or how hard they came, Sans wouldn't die. He would then effortlessly defeat Frisk over and over again.
After dying too many times, Frisk once more attempts to reset to the latest save point as usual, but Nightmare Sans intervenes and stops them from doing even that. Sans tells them that they better try their luck somewhere else if they truly wish to keep resetting before teleporting them through a red portal, exiling the genocidal Frisk and defeating them once and for all. Afterwards, Sans tells them to never come back.
Pre-Indie Cross[]
Frisk does a Genocide run, where they kill every monster. This continues until the Judgement Hall, where they meet Sans. Their encounter is only brief however, as they are transported by a red portal to the Indie Cross world.
Indie Cross Episode 1[]
Frisk appears after emerging from a red portal in the Hollow Knight Universe. They stare at a faraway light, before falling off the cliff. Frisk reappears later during the episode and is seen again killing off the Hollow Knight. The Knight catches a brief glimpse of Frisk, but is killed by them shortly after, (but is eventually revived later on) and continue on their killing spree.
Frisk then appears behind Madeline, startling her. The latter acts friendly towards them and initiates small talk; asking them if they know a way out. Frisk doesn't answer and instead pulls out their knife, threatening Madeline as she desperately tries to reason with them to no avail as they corner her to the edge. With no options left, Madeline curses Frisk before jumping off the cliff, leaving Frisk to assume she fell to her demise. It is then revealed that Madeline is actually hiding under the cliff and plans to wait until Frisk leaves, but the latter quickly follows after her, using their knife to scale down the cliff, reach Madeline and then attack her. Frisk then initiates a chase after Madeline in an attempt to kill her. Eventually, Badeline appears and saves Madeline from Frisk by shooting a laser which severs a large chunk of rubble, supposedly crushing Frisk underneath it.
Frisk is revealed to have survived Badeline's attack and then appears later in the episode as the leader of the mysterious drones spots them. It then sends the army after Frisk, but they were able to take them all down. During the battle, Frisk has a hallucinates Sans while fighting the leader for a split second. After some more fighting, Frisk then throws their knife at the leader drone, but the blow is effortlessly evaded and is replaced with a multitude of knives that all resemble the one Frisk threw, the leader then sends every last one of them at Frisk, completely mutilating them in the process.
Nearing the end of the episode, Frisk appears one final time, having somehow survived the various stab wounds and lacerations throughout their entire body. Frisk attempts to ambush Charlotte from behind, but they were able to just barely react after a warning from Madeline. The two engage in a brief duel but Charolette manages to disarm them and uses their remaining energy to summon a portal, teleporting Frisk to another dimension.
Indie Cross Episode 2[]
Frisk makes their next appearance in Fazbear Frights, revealing that they've been transported to the FNAF universe. The mortal wounds from their previous battle are still intact, but they use their "save" ability to undo their grievous injuries and make a full recovery. After exploring around a bit, they eventually encounter Springtrap. Springtrap simply asks if the human wishes to join "them" for a "game", presumably trying to lure them in and kill them or simply pursuing Frisk out of boredom. He grows impatient by The Human's lack of response but is knocked back once Frisk's punches him. Springtrap is left in confusion at what just happened to him, but Frisk appears right in front of him mere moments after. Springtrap flees into the office, closing the door behind him. Frisk eventually makes their way into the office where they confront William. He tries to negotiate with Frisk, but they remain unconvinced. It is then assumed that a fight broke out between the two where Springtrap is swiftly overpowered.
Frisk is then seen holding an arcade machine over their head to presumably crush Springtrap with but then another red portal emerges. Seeing this as their way out, Frisk drops the arcade before dismissing Springtrap entirely. However, the portal fails to maintain form and its energy strikes Springtrap. The man behind the slaughter is then transformed from an undead serial killer to a supernatural entity. Springtrap begins to mock Frisk for making him so powerful before initiating the "game" he promised them earlier, calling upon an army of several recurring animatronics across the FNAF universe, resulting in a long chase sequence through The Sinkhole. After being chased around, Frisk hides behind a conveniently-shaped lamp to avoid the animatronics, where they briefly encounter The Puppet before resting due to exhaustion.
After a brief rest, Frisk uses their save file again but once they get back up, Frisk encounters Glamrock Freddy who briefly mistook them for Gregory. Frisk initially plans to fight Freddy even if it meant using their bare hands but realizes the animatronics are coming. Glamrock Freddy urges them to hide inside his chest cavity and assures he'll get them away from here. Reluctantly, they do and the two progress through The Sinkhole. Freddy heads towards an elevator before telling Frisk that he thought they were someone else who merely responds by pounding their chest, indicating that they want him to stop talking. Freddy introduces himself and asks if he can scan Frisk, but the latter punches his neck and it twists 180 degrees, noting that he'll keep their defensiveness in mind before relocating his neck. They arrive on a lower floor where Freddy ushers that they lay low, but Frisk storms off into a room before heading back almost immediately after, returning into his chest cavity. Freddy tells Frisk that they don't have to worry since he'll protect them. The two are briefly chased by animatronics with exposed endoskeletons but manage to escape safely and reach the charging station. Glamrock Freddy informs Frisk that he needs to recharge and assures that he won't be long.
Frisk plays the Princess Quest IV arcade game. Helpy drops from directly above Frisk and attempts to ambush them but the former notices and effortlessly steps aside. However, Helpy begins to scream after hitting the floor, alerting any nearby animatronics of Frisk's location. Vanny appears and stabs Frisk in the arm, injuring them. Frisk retaliates and attempts to punch Vanny with their free arm, but Scrap Baby intervenes and clamps her clawed arm down on Frisk's remaining arm, mockingly asking if she "caught [Frisk] off guard" before hurling them into a wall. This results in Frisk being overwhelmed as the four original animatronics appear and lift them up, placing them in Nightmare Fredbear's mouth to be bitten and killed, recreating the Bite of 83.
However, it is revealed that Frisk managed to overpower Fredbear's teeth and tears his head off, resulting in a fight against the Animatronics. During this duel they manage to steal Vanny's knife, subsequently stabbing and even killing her with her own weapon. They go on a rampage and begin killing many animatronics nearby. Eventually, Glamrock Freddy finally comes to the rescue and picks them up into his chest cavity; Freddy then apologizes, telling Frisk he should've arrived sooner. Suddenly, Freddy's chest cavity begins to enclose with Frisk still inside. Freddy's eyes are shown to have turned purple, revealing that he's been controlled by Nightmare Springtrap. Blood slowly pools out from his chest area, with Frisk having been crushed to death as their corpse falls from his chest cavity once it opens.
Frisk reawakens sometime later, finding themself in a completely pitch-black area with the glowing yellow save point being the only source of light. Frisk approaches their save point and prepares to respawn, but Springtrap suddenly emerges, asking Frisk if they truly believed he wouldn't be aware of their ability to respawn whenever they die before destroying their save point completely. Nightmare Springtrap begins to psychologically manipulate Frisk by convincing them that they're one in the same. However, Frisk shrugs off his manipulation and dismisses that they are nothing alike before using a personal save point to revive themselves.
William expresses indifference, stating that he's content with Frisk's defiance before transporting himself back to the living. The two of them finally battle but Nightmare Springtrap gains the upper hand in every possible instance and begins to brutally batter Frisk as he overpowers them. They are then transported to the Princess Quest IV arcade game's world. Before their fight continues, The Puppet intervenes, arriving with two large gift boxes to aid Frisk with their troubles. However, Springtrap appears, mocking The Puppet for always feeling the need to interfere with things before using his powers to destroy them. The boxes begin to open before while Springtrap is focused on The Puppet: the first one having Frisk's lost Heart Locket, effectively returning it to them, and the second having the Sword of Light. Springtrap mocks Puppet one final time before destroying them with only their mask remaining. Frisk is then seen holding their locket as well as the Sword of Light, but Springtrap believes that even with their new power, it won't be enough to stop him. He warns Frisk that dragging out the fight will only make their death more painful and goads them into seeing how far they'll get. As Springtrap attempts to kill Frisk once and for all they land a solid blow with the Sword of Light, weakening Springtrap who's powers gradually begin to malfunction. Nighmare Springtrap tries to attack Frisk one last time but his form starts rapidly diminishing and moments later he is reverted back to normal Springtrap again.
With Springtrap depowered, the two are transported back to the arcade and Frisk lands a powerful kick on the animatronic, sending him backwards. Unexpectedly, someone else joins in to help Frisk, that being Glamrock Freddy, who punches Springtrap and vows that he will not control him. The two then perform a coordinated assault on Springtrap that concludes with Frisk punching him into a nearby wall. The two then watch the withering Springtrap refuse to accept defeat but before he can finish his iconic line, he powers down and is finally defeated as a black portal emerges behind the two.
At the end, Frisk approaches the portal before looking back at Glamrock Freddy one final time, who says goodbye to them, dubbing Frisk as a "superstar". Frisk then turns away walks before walking through the black portal.
