The Furries are the main antagonists of the animated adult science-fiction comedy, The Furry Crusades, created by the animator duo Flashgitz.
They are a parodic version of the Furry Fandom meant to represent the more negative side of said fandom, with their behaviors being exaggerated traits of it such as their constant need to have sex with each other.
In the series, they’re portrayed as borderline parasitic beings which spread a corruption known as Lupus Mortem in order to assimilate more beings into their ranks, making them somewhat of a universal-level threat. For this reason, the Black Templar have devoted their mission to destroy every last one of them to prevent the total corruption of the galaxy.
Throughout the series, they have shown a vast array of other capabilities in battle, such as formulating plans to counterattack any Black Templars sent to kill them, corrupting entire worlds into gigantic furries, and also the ability to travel through worlds via certain members capable of opening portals.
Synopsis[]
TBA, will try to do later. (Help with this section is also appreciated)
Notable Individuals[]
- Gay Trap Furry: A pink furry wearing some Naruto-esque attire who commands his kind to rush and swarm the marines along with sending in a giant furry as well. He is a commander or scout for the furries on FurryWorld, though it’s unknown if he is a member of the Resistance or not. (deceased, killed off-screen via Exterminatus)
- The Resistance: An organization led by an unnamed pink-cyan furry composed of various, more skilled furries who are devoted to “saving” the anthros from the Black Templar. They arrive to Mobius in order to “save” Sonic, much to his ire. (most members alive, some members deceased)
- Strongfang (formerly Steven): A yellow-green human-turned-furry who was kidnapped by two marines that tortured and interrogated him in order to get more information, in which he constantly retaliates back and defies their orders to prevent them from doing so. (deceased, cause of death unknown, but was killed by the marines)
- The Furry Emperor: A blue-cyan-white furry with the appearance of a Roman-era emperor who kidnaps a Black Templar marine and ogled him off-screen in order to make him repent for saying insults directed at his kind, later putting him in an arena to make him fight against his champion, Star Sparkle.
- Star Sparkle: A purple xeno-like (orange-pink in his disguised form) furry who is the Furry Emperor’s champion, in which he pits him against Black Templar marines to make them repent. He is a more “evolved” variant of the regular furry that is capable of switching between a more casual appearance to his more alien-like true form.
- Evolved Furries: Advanced variants of regular furries which are greyscaled in color, they are more durable and intelligent to the common furries shown through the episodes and are the main cause of Fear the Furry’s events by making the Black Templar ship their battle took place on to be infested with Lupus Mortem.
Trivia[]
- As The Furry Disease shows, all of the furries were implied to be humans before being corrupted into their current forms. It’s unknown if the other important furries (aside from Strongfang) shown so far are former humans or not.
- A piece of merch (specifically the “Lupus Mortem” hoodie from a previous merch drop) reveals that the name of the corruption they spread is “Lupus Mortem”.
- In the BTS video Tom and Don made for Fear the Furry, they revealed that the reason why the evolved furries look the way they are is because they believe that being a furry is not about having sex all the time, with their denial growing strong enough to the point it warped them physically. They’re also stated to be the “religious zealot” to the Black Templars, as their actions are them trying to convince the marines with said beliefs.
- Compared to the other furries in the series, the Resistance are the only furries to be more ambiguous on their malicious behavior, with their rescue of Sonic seemingly having no ill intent. The only instances of them being antagonistic is implied through various episodes which reveal that they supposedly rescued Sonic for an unknown purpose which may likely involve corrupting him.
- As of currently, Strongfang is the only important furry to have merch made of them, which was a (now off-sale) mousepad of him with Steven, his former self, trying to escape out of Strongfang’s body like how he did in his sole episode. All of the other merch relating to the series has a regular furry or a Black Templar marine.
