GB is a major antagonist in the Friday Night Funkin' mod, Mario's Madness, serving as the first opponent of Hellish Heights and the main opponent in his song Golden Land.
He is an engimatic entity taking the form of Mario that lives within a copy of Mario Land. Not much is known in the way of his origin or personality, however it's clear that he is far from a well-meaning entity, being that he is one of the many obstacles standing in the way of Boyfriend with the clear intention of killing him.

GB's origins are unknown, what is known is that he was created by Christine Hermer and appeared for the first time in 1996.[1]
Golden Land[]
Upon entering Hellish Heights, Boyfriend was forced to face GB as the first world stage was blocked. At first disguised, he offers a friendly rap battle with Boyfriend. As the rap battle goes on, however, GB reveals his true nature, a twisted destroyer of video game worlds. He also eventually shows us Girlfriend, who is tied up, presumably by GB.
Appearance[]
GB appears very similar to Mario in his disguised form, with overalls, shoes, and a hat, the only differences being his greyscale palette and the lack of the characteristic "M" on his cap. In his true form. Additionally, his hat covers his eyes. In his true form, his jaw extends downwards, revealing an unsightly jagged set of teeth, his moustache twirls upwards, and he reveals his extendable and thin neck.
Personality[]
Not much is known about GB, but we can infer that he is quite sadistic and destructive, from what we know about his world-destroying activities. He is also manipulative, since he originally disguised himself as the original Mario in the game as means of tricking Boyfriend. He also seems to be rather rude and somewhat immature, as his right pose involves him giving the middle finger.

- GB is the one of the original character from the mod,[2] being created by mod's director, Marco Antonio, because he wanted to make a Mario based off of his favorite Mario game, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.[3]
- Marco Antonio comments that "GB was created while i was shitting lol".[3]
- Originally, GB had the distinction of being the game's secondary villain after Horror Mario himself and was even implied to have a bigger role in the next update shortly after the release of V1. This was changed as of V2, however, as he was "demoted" to having the same amount of screen time most of the other characters have.
- GB is confirmed to be more powerful than Horror Mario.[4] This is currently questionable as in V2, Horror Mario took control of GB as Ultra M.
- Originally, GB and Horror Mario were the same entity, with GB being a disguise that he would use, but Marco Antonio would later declare them to be separate characters.[5]
