~ Gaston's famous quote being aggressive to The Beast |
Gaston LeGume is the main antagonist of the 2024 fanfilm from Hux's Disneyverse, Beauty and The Beast.
He is a heavily arrogant and thuggish hunter from Belle's village, who developed obsessions with marrying her for her wealth and his own public image. He later finds out that The Beast is real, and has a relationship with Belle. Therefore, Gaston makes his plans to force Belle into marriage even if it's in the hard way, and therefore, kill The Beast If needed.
He is portrayed by Chris Pratt, who will also play as Tom Masters in the upcoming Marvel based fanfilm Amazing Grace and Daniel Obson in the horror fanfilm Bull.
History[]
Gaston is a famous hunter from Belle's village, whom she dislikes for his arrogance and annoyance, but he lusts her very much for her wealth and for his own good public image. He also gained lots of approval from her father Maurice, who seems to trust him but still dislikes his arrogance.
Gaston at first plans to shoot a bird, until his buddy and right-hand man LeFou asks him not to shoot it. Gaston then remembers that Belle loves animals and goes to talk to her about the animals. He tries to convince her to teach him about animal life, but she refuses and dislikes him for being a hunter, who shoots and doesn't respect nature. Gaston stupidly answers that he has a collection of reindeer heads which he hunted and offers Belle to come and see it. Belle confesses that with all due respect it looks ugly. Maurice then chases Gaston off of Belle, and Gaston angrily warns them both that wether Belle likes it or not, she is destined to be with him.
Gaston later goes to the bar with LeFou and some others, The Bimbettes start posing infront of Gaston, but he openly prefers Belle for her wealth and public image. Gaston is cheered by Neil and Hunter Crawlson. He shows off to everyone he once hunted 500 reindeers in one shot. He also showed off that he swam in a huge lake and caught hundreds of big fish. He says he just wants Belle for himself in a greedy manner. LeFou tells Gaston that Maurice wants to talk to him at the village's docks. Gaston agrees. At the docks later on at night, Maurice tells Gaston about the fearsome Beast and claims that it's after Belle. Gaston pretends to be nice and take care of it, but in actual, he bribes Monsieur D'arque so he would put Maurice into the asylum unless Belle marries him. Later on during the night, Gaston, LeFou and D'arque evade Belle's privacy and forcefully attempt to drag Maurice to an asylum of insane people, while LeFou made jokes about The Beast. When Belle shows The Beast's video from Maurice's camera, everyone realizes The Beast is real. Gaston however makes everyone scared of The Beast, and invites them to join him and kill The Beast with him so the village will be safe.
Gaston's mob of villagers follow him blindly to the Beast's castle. They invade the castle, and Gaston goes off to kill The Beast, but the others try to handle the castle ornaments, who fight back and defeat the mob of villagers. The mob runs off, but LeFou stays, and tries to take Lumiere as Gaston promised him some treasure. However, he runs off after Mrs. Potts jumps on him and scares him off.
Gaston then goes to the castle roof, where he finds The Beast and attacks him with a knife. He tells the Beast to get up and fight back, but The Beast doesn't respond, thinking that Belle abandoned him as a love interest. Belle however came back and threatened Gaston with a sword if he hurts the Beast. Gaston tells her that if she gives him the sword and comes home with her, he will spare The Beast. However, when she gives Gaston her sword in a naive way, Gaston tries to kill The Beast anyway, implying she loves The Beast more than him. The Beast however overpowers Gaston and injures him a lot. However, Gaston pulled out his gun and shot The Beast, causing him to fly off the balcony. Gaston goes to kill him one floor lower than the rooftop. He promises The Beast that he shall take Belle home after he's dead. The Beast comes to fight Gaston once again. Gaston remorselessly shoots The Beast, but the lightning struck him, and he was therefore electrocuted to death.
Personality[]
Gaston might be charming in his looks to most people around him. However, he is an egoistic, narcissistic and sadistic person, who uses the power of force on Belle and attempts to ruin her life rather than help her. Gaston ultimately goes on a hunt to sadistically kill The Beast, showing no remorse at all, and willing to endanger not only his victims, but a few villagers who came to assist him on this task.
Gaston cares about nobody but himself, and is only obsessed with Belle for two reasons; her wealth and his own public image.
Trivia[]
- He is the second version of Gaston to be from a live-action remake, and the first to be fanmade.
