~ Nazaroth to one of his servant imps. |
General Abraxes von Nazaroth, also known as The Commander is one of the top rulers of Hell and a major antagonist in the Multiversal Legends mythos. He is a former servant to Nekrozoth but decided to rebel and plot against him. He is the most powerful of the daemon lord only to be surpassed by Remiok Sethos. He was once an apprentice and left-hand man to Nekrozoth, before betraying him and defecting to Xuriah's organization.
Nazaroth is both ruthless and vicious, he often plots on how to become the sole ruler of hell. He even plot on how to become the ruler of evil itself and become the most powerful daemon in existence. He eventually became the ruler of Tartarus when working with Xuriah.
Nazaroth wanted to dethron Nekrozoth and become rule the multiverse. He later participated in the Ascension Program, an experiment Nekrozoth enacted to make "Artificial Prime Omegas". That is when and how Nazaroth became a Prime Omega, and a left hand man of Nekrozoth for the time being. He was the secondary antagonist of The Travellers where he seeks to find the sword of Chaos so that he can rule the multiverse but was killed by the mysterious protagonist.
He is a frequent enemy to Ben Diablo, Jack Spark, Legend, Master Mueller and Angelus.
Personality[]
Nazaroth is a sadistic, tyrannical, and sociopathic demon with limitless ambitions. Nazaroth shows excessive amount of cruelty and savage brutality, making it a habit of conducting daily mass murders, genocide, and wide scale tortures on a daily basis: crimes which he sees as mere hobbies for him. He is fond of torture in particular, being a masterful professional torturer trained by Nekrozoth, and acted as his court torturer along with Depravitas.
He is also a massive egotist, an arrogant, pompous narcissist who view himself as a perfectionist in a twisted way and view his atrocities as beautiful works of art (similarly to Niklovich). Nazaroth in a way, has a bit of a god complex, as usual for other monstrous ML villains, due to his perfectionist tendencies. Nazaroth hates disobedience, rebelliousness, or any defying him on any way. He's a control freak who wants everyone and everything thing bend to his will, even if he has to literally strip every being of their free will through horrific methods. Even with all that, he views himself as a visionary, believing it's his right to rule the Omniverse to install his view on "perfection" and "cleanse everything of ugly imperfections". His view on "Perfection" is a mixture of his twisted sadism, and his social darwinist tendencies and xenophobia along with his warped view of bringing "order" in his own brand. He believes the Omniverse is chaotic, with free will bring a threat to his "Vision", so his solution is using "fight fire with fire" using chaotic methods to get what he wants. Proving how hypocritical he is with his claims.
After his "ascension" to being an artificial Prime Omega through the horrendous experiments from the Ascension Program, he gains an even greater god complex and thinks he deserves some worship by the "common maggots".
He views other beings, particularly lesser demons like imps and mortals, as insects to be squashed and constantly condescending them and belittle them. He's hateful towards anyone that isn't him, usually bordering on bigotry on species he deeply despises which usually borders on genocidal intent. This stems from both his darwinistic and perfectionism, he views imps as lazy, disgusting, and a weak species: he feels that mortals enjoy their freedom way too much; and believes his fellow Primordial Demons have gotten soft.
He is also infamous for being a treacherous, power-hungry backstabber, he's prone to work with others from making partnership with other demons or Omegas, to working with higher ranking beings. Only to find the opportunity to betray them to further his own advances, taking every opportunity he can to do so. He wants ultimate power, even when giving high resources or became a Prime Omega , he's never satisfied with what he has and tries to seek more ways to gain more. He once tried to usurp Nekrozoth so he can take his title of being the ruler of everything evil, and take his empire for himself. He even at one point stages a coup in Hell, killing thousands upon thousands of demons, as an attempt to conquer Hell.
He's feared for being a psychotic, a murderous, homicidal Maniac who'll kill and tortures anyone on a whim for fun or even for the most minor reasons. If one as much as criticize him would set him off, he'll mutilate the person horribly. Or touching him, he'll give them a gruesome yet agonizing demise. He prone to be easily angered, reacting with hostility mixed with murderous rage. This starts off when he'll be soft spoken, yet firmly intimidating, of pushed enough (which is easy to do) he'll act out in savagery. He doesn't take failure, even failure from himself, well at all. He'll kill en masse as a means to vent his frustration as it's what makes him feel better. Even torturing, just to listen the screams of his victims, esses him off.
Despite all this, he's a sophisticated and cultured gentleman, even when he fails to act as a gentleman himself. He tries to put up an affable facade though albeit adds a bit of a condescending attitude in the mix. He has mutual respects to Xuriah D'arcmast'r, admiring each other's skills, considering they're both similar in personality and ambition. After defecting to Xuriah's organization, he became his right hand and sparring partner, and goes out poaching with him. Though, his relationship with Xuriah might be positive, he doesn't really care when he learns (or thought) he perished, using the opportunity to take his technologies and equipment for himself for his evil goals. He enjoys going to gladiator matches, hearing music, but most in particular he enjoys playing with his fiddle. Ironically, he plays wonderful music with his fiddle on contrast to his sadistic nature. He also enjoys gorging himself in fancy food and drinks, showing a bit of gluttonous behavior. He's also very fond of arts and craftsmanship, including sculpture. At a young age, he originally wanted to be an artist, but due to unfortunate circumstances he ends up a monster instead.
Appearance[]
Nazaroth is a purple skinned demon wearing a black regent clothing, fancying himself as an aristocrat of sorts. He also carries a wooden cane, with gold and silver rings with jewelry on them. He also posses iron bracelets which he has when dressing in his aristocratic attire or in his armor, even wearing boots with armor plates. He has black hair, and four red eyes with orange pupils.
When on duty, either in the battle field or carrying out his vile schemes, he dress in black armor and has armor boots, carrying a sheath that holds his sword, or his guns. He also occasionally wears a military cap. His armor used to have a Omega crescent on it, but after defecting, it has been removed. He is often seen as being gargantuan in size, towering countless beings to signifying his status power.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Pain Inducement/Manipulation: being the "Lord of Pain", Nazaroth has the power to psychically make the human brain act as if a person's whole body is filled with agony or make them feel mental anguish.
- Necromancy: Capable of resurrecting the dead to some extent. However, he rarely uses this ability, because he only uses it to continue torturing someone or part of some Faustian deal where he resurrects someone's loved ones only as a zombie as his way of twisting the seal.
- Size-Shifting: Within his fortress, he can change into any shape or sizes he wants. If he wanted, he could change into colossal size as big as a tower.
- Soul Absorption: As a demon, he can consume the souls of the countless beings he slain. Using these souls for torture or trapping them in his realm.
- Teleportation/Portal Creation: Can open shadow like portals that can teleport him or objects to different places and locations. He's capable of also doing this to people as well to some extent, as he teleported Xuriah and his minions out of the clutches of the Champions.
- Hellfire manipulation: Being a Primordial Demon before, this comes to no surprise. He can control flames from Hell, but his is almost capable of completely incinerating anything it touches even other demons. His flames also comes out as akin to molten lava and has it spread across the land burning anything in it's path.
- Regeneration: Can heal from major damages and wounds, especially from mortal weapons like guns or swords unless hit with weapons forged by other demons or Primes. He is immune to divine weaponry as well so angelic weapons that usually kills demons would have a hard time taking down Nazaroth.
- Electrokinesis: Can control electricity and is immune to lightning attacks (especially from Xuriah) and uses them as a means to torture his enemies similar to how Xuriah would. He also uses this as a form of attack and to kill his opponents.
- Sorcery: He is described as a powerful dark wizard himself in the demon realms, being a Necromancer who can steal souls, and is said to be so powerful he makes Malem and Master Mueller look like child's play.
Abilities[]
- Torture Methodology: As stated before, he holds the title of "Lord of Pain", and so he knows many forms of torture thanks to studying under Nekrozoth. This also includes psychology torture too, knowing how to drive one insane even without using his demonic abilities.
- Genius-level intellect: is exceptionally intelligent and compared to be on the same or at least similar levels to either Malroc or Xuriah D'arcmast'r. From knowing a very of pain and torment, to bring a strategic mastermind in his own right, to being a master chemist having created the Abraxas' Curse and using it as a bioweapon.
Trivia[]
- Nazaroth is purposely given an aristocratic vibe in his character trait, to convey his tyrannical elitist behavior along with his arrogance and pompousness. The creator was thinking of drawing some inspiration for The Tales of Two Cities, a book he read in class in high school years ago.
- It's stated he and The Sluke known each other for a long time and addressed the Sluke as an "old friend" but it is unknown what their relationship is or how they met beyond knowing they're fellow demons (Primordial Demons at that).
- Nazaroth was made as a slight homage to Reaper from the Dungeon Keeper video game series. His design was different, being a stereotypical look of Satan with a black trident but also bore a cape as well.
- Ironically, years ago, Nazaroth was made before Nekrozoth was conceived even long before Multiversal Legends was created. Thus, he's one of the earliest villains made by Powermonger2003 and one of the first villains to be made in ML.
- He was originally based on Diablo from the franchise of the same name, Darkseid and Trigon from DC comics, Dormammu from Marvel Comics, and partially on Zalgo from Creepypasta.
- Though a major antagonist who fought members of the Champions, he actually only fought the entire team as a whole only twice. Once in Legend's spinoff prequel series, where he fought the group when they were just founded and when he was working for Nekrozoth, and the second time when he joined Xuriah D'arcmast'r but it was only a brief interaction.
