The Ghost Gang are major antagonists from the fan-made Happy Tree Friends spinoff, Fiction Pokémon Foes. They're a group of highly mischievous and antagonistic Pokémon characters consisting of a Gastly, Haunter a Gengar from the Kanto Region. Their names being Ghoul, Specter and Phantom. They go around scaring other Pokémon characters and haunting certain areas, even the homes of other characters. They're highly mischievous, as they cause as much mayhem and trouble as possible, they even constantly target and torment Headache the Psyduck with constant jump-scares due to his cowardliness, making him always stressed and nervous as a result.

Character Biographies[]

Physical Appearances[]

Ghoul[]

Ghoul is a small anthropomorphic bluish-purple Gastly, he's also just a floating head and lacks an entire body similar to the rest of his species. He has light purple skull and crossbones symbols on his cheeks, indicating more that he's a Poison-type Pokémon character surrounded by poisonous gas. And as for the gas surrounding his body, it's a transparent purple color, the inner color is a lighter purple color whilst the outer is a normal purple color. The gas can often release skull shapes, giving more information on how dangerous it is.

Specter[]

Specter is an average-sized anthropomorphic purple Haunter. There's sharp spikes protruding on the sides of his head, mostly being around three of them, they all have stripe patterns on them, the colors being darker at the end of the spike tips. There's also spikes on his head with a light purple diamond sharped marking that row all the way down to his back. Specter has a large mouth with two sharp fangs protruding on each side of his upper jaw, while on his lower jaw there's multiple small rows of teeth, the inside of his mouth is a dark purple color, his tongue is a light purple color.

Specter lacks legs and arms, but instead has dark purple clawed hands. His body tappers into a dark purple jagged tail. He apparently has the ability to pop his eyes out of his sockets like that of a cartoon character, this is something most characters in the series absolutely can't do. He's often seen with yellow earrings hanging on his spikes, as well as rings around his clawed fingers.

Phantom[]

Phantom is a slightly bigger anthropomorphic dark purple Gengar. Extending from his head are two long ears with stripes on them, they look sharp enough to impale other characters, however it can't as non-Ghost things can't touch Ghost-type Pokémon, meaning it can impale other Ghost-type Pokémon characters instead. In the center of his forehead is a purple diamond shaped marking with messy strands of hair on the top of his head. Phantom is well known for his sinister red eyes, the pupils are black while the inner pupil is white, alongside that is a large sinister grin filled with rows of white teeth.

Phantom can be said to have one of the largest mouths in the series when taken in consideration of exactly how large his mouth can open up. There's a single purple stripe on his torso, while his arms have around two stripes, his hands being purple too, there's a stripe on his knee alongside purple feet. Phantom has a long sharp tail that also has purple stripes, however it's darker-colored than the rest of his body. He's often seen wearing a light purple chain necklace along with identical-looking chains around his arms.

Background[]

Their power/type is Ghost/Poison. They're a gang of ghosts who go fly around within the air phasing through solid objects to scare other Pokémon characters in the series. They also have shown a habit for haunting random locations and claiming it as their own, these areas targeted by the Ghost Gang are commonly known to be caves, buildings, vehicles and even random areas in the middle of forests. And if there's anyone else inside of the mentioned areas they recently just haunted, they'll literally kick them out of the location by scaring them, or, if Phantom is sadistic enough he'll straight up put a curse on them as everything goes terrible for that unfortunate Pokémon character, they might also end up dying a horrible death along with other characters who's within the vicinity of the curse radius. This means that if the cursed character gets too close to anyone else the victim will randomly die in a strange manner immediate seconds afterwards.

The Ghost Gang appear to cause as much trouble as they can, the reason for this is possibly because they're Ghost-type Pokémon, and they don't have many weaknesses except for other Ghost-type Pokémon characters which are quite rare in the series. Also because Phantom could just lay a curse on anyone who dares to stand in their way, many Pokémon characters tend to not want to fight or battle against the Ghost Gang considering how many Pokémon attacks and moves don't effect Ghost-types. And all because of this reason alone, they perform as much mayhem as possible for fun. While scaring others, there's a chance they might literally give the victim a heart attack, leading to their death. Phantom is shown to actually be the evilest one in the gang, considering he's also the leader, he's the one who orders Ghoul and Specter to cause trouble, in which they oblige. He's also the one to go after Headache the Psyduck due to his constant nervous and cowardly personality, which just so happens to make him an easy target.

Personalities[]

Ghoul Transparent

Ghoul[]

Ghoul is the least scariest one of the gang, possibly due to his smaller size. However, Ghoul is shown to be very curious and sometimes playful, which Specter is shown to play along with him, and sometimes if in the mood Phantom will engage in his playful mood as well. He also takes in enjoyment scaring, pranking and haunting random locations. Ghoul, being basically the youngest gang member in the group tends to accidentally cause mistakes that could lead to the rest of the gang members getting into trouble or bad situations.

Ghoul's curious personality could result in bad situations as he may get too close to other characters, leading to them choking on his poisonous gases, leading to poisoning, suffocation and death. He can also be easily blown around by wind, considering half of his body is made up of gas, in which a large trail of poisonous gas will be spread in the air, which can cause many deaths in the air and the ones down bellow. Ghoul is often insecure about himself since he isn't as scary or intimidating as Specter and especially Phantom, meaning he often becomes sad or angered when others aren't scared of him.

Specter Transparent

Specter[]

Specter is usually the one who comes up with the idea of haunting random locations such as caves, buildings and vehicles, allowing the other gang members to have somewhere to stay. Specter is shown to be a goofy, energetic and playful. A unique thing about Specter is that he isn't generally always trying to scare other Pokémon characters, but instead trying to make them laugh by sticking out his tongue and popping his eyes out of his sockets, however this seems to instead to the complete opposite and makes them scream in fear upon seeing him doing this unusual action in front of them.

Due to this, this often saddens Specter as he's just trying to make others laugh which ends up going wrong horribly. However, despite how nice he can be, he's still part of the same gang who goes around scaring the life out of other characters, trespasses, and steals locations and claims it as their own. So Specter still does have some antagonistic traits, he also apparently steals according to the yellow jewelries he often wears.

Phantom Transparent

Phantom[]

He's the scariest one, the most evil and sinister one, he's the leader of the Ghost Gang. He seems to take joy in scaring others than the rest of the gang does, so much to the point that he gives his victims a heart attack, leading to death. More specifically Headache. It's rumored staring into his evil-filled red eyes can cause other Pokémon characters to gain a curse upon themselves, leading to everything bad happening to them. This could be true, as Phantom is shown to have the mythical ability to curse anyone he wants to, he mostly does this when they attack him or the other Ghost Gang members. Phantom is shown to be the most evil character as he'll literally shapeshift into other characters and mock their friends, leading to the real character to be hated. This where Gengar gets it name, from "Doppelgänger".

However when he does shapeshift he doesn't gain their powers like a Ditto does when it shapeshifts, he only gains their physical appearance. Phantom is very sneaky and sinister as he'll commit as much crimes as possible which is encouraged by him being a Ghost-type Pokémon character, a type that doesn't have many weaknesses. Other Ghost-type Pokémon characters that probably could put up a fair Pokémon Battle against Phantom don't even want to due to not only how scary he looks, but also how evil he is. When he becomes invisible, others can sense his presence only by feeling how cold it randomly becomes, it was just warm or hot seconds ago, now it's freezing cold. This is because Phantom is there, and he's about to take an unfortunate soul.

Powers/Skills[]

Shadow Ball[]

The most common Ghost-type Pokémon move, it consists of a large ball of shadow which can be created with bare hands, and if a character is struck by this shadow-created weapon, their entire body disturbingly turns pitch black as their physical form is removed, this basically turns their entire body into a shadow and kills them as their entire body system is removed such as organs, bones, flesh, blood, etc.

Phasing Through Solid Objects[]

This ability makes a lot of sense considering their ghosts, they don't have a physical body, this also means other non-Ghost-type Pokémon characters can't really touch them, but instead their hand will go straight through their body as if it's not even real.

Intangibility[]

Similar to the previous skill, this makes sense as they're ghosts. This ability also means that other characters (who aren't Ghost-type Pokémon) can't at all touch or make contact with them at all by any means. Pokémon attacks and certain moves also can't touch or harm them at all, most specifically Physical attacks and moves.

Invisibility[]

They can turn themselves invisible, obscuring themselves from the naked eye and making it easier for them to easily scare anyone. With this attack, they can also secretly attack the one they're battling against, making it harder for the attacker to see them and throw an attack back at the ghosts.

Size Increasement[]

When they need to make themselves more threatening and intimidating, they change their entire size, this can even increase their attacks such as the earlier mentioned Shadow Balls and cause more destruction and damage with them, as well as larger explosions.

Scaring Skills[]

Being ghosts, it's not a surprise they'd be very professional scarers, they can also scare their attacks while in a Pokémon Battle, catching them off guard and very likely weakening their attack or defense stat, making it easier to fight against their enemy.

Cartoony Physics[]

This skill appears to mostly apply the Specter who's able to literally pop his eyes out of his sockets, which as stated before is something most Pokémon characters in the series can't even do. It's not exactly known how this ability could be used in combat or in serious situations, however it is known that it could terrify other characters than it makes them laugh.

Warmth Absorbing[]

This skill applies to Phantom as his presence alone can absorb the heat, causing the temperature to drop extremely low, it could possibly even freeze characters within the area. This of course doesn't freeze Phantom or other Ghost-type Pokémon characters since they're basically undead beings and don't have flesh nor nerve systems.

Shapeshifting[]

Apparently only Phantom can use this skill, in which he changes his entire physical appearance into another character, in which he'll mock the character's friends, causing the real character he shapeshifted as to become hated. This doesn't grant him the abilites and powers like Ditto does when they shapeshift, but only changes Phantom's appearance.

Cursing Pokémon Characters[]

Once again, this an ability only Phantom can use, he lays a curse onto other Pokémon characters that could cause everything bad and near them to go terribly wrong. They're constantly risking their life every moment they walk as danger continuously tries to kill them, and even the characters who get to close to the cursed victims will be killed.

Trivia[]

  • They were originally going to be called "Ghost Group", but it would be changed to "Ghost Gang" as it sounded more cooler.
  • Coincidentally, the creator named the Ghost Gang after another group of famous ghosts from Pac-Man with the same group name. Those being Red, Pinky, Binky and Clyde.
  • They're based on the very popular Gastly, Haunter and Gengar trio which is considered one of the most popular evolution lines in the Pokémon franchise.
  • They actually share similarities to AAAHH!!! Real Monsters. The 1990s' Nickelodeon cartoon where a trio of monsters scare people.
  • Specter and Phantom are the only character in the group to wear accessories.
  • Whilst Ghoul and Specter aren't evil like Phantom is, they may occasionally follow his rules and perform bad actions as well. However, they may become worried when he takes things too far.
  • Being ghosts who scare others, they of course love Halloween.
