Gigan is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Mechagodzilla) of Godzilla: Cataclysmic Kaiju Combat. He is a cyborg space dinosaur created by the Xiliens for their plot to take over the Earth.
History[]
Past[]
10,000 years ago, Gigan invaded and attacked Earth, only to be defeated by Mothra. This defeat took away his hands and it also ruined his eyes.
Rediscovery[]
During the invasion of the Lord Ghidorah and other alien races, the Xiliens found Gigan frozen in the ocean off the coast of Siberia. The Xiliens thawed out Gigan and captured him so that they can control and modify him with the help of Exif and Bilusaludo technology. Gigan's masters gave Gigan hooks for hands and placed a vizor over his ruined eyes.
During Lord Ghidorah's invasion, Gigan first fought Godzilla in Egypt. After the fight, Gigan retreated until he returned with Lord Ghidorah to face Godzilla and Anguirus in World Children's Land. Fortunately, Godzilla and Anguirus outsmarted the aliens and defeated Gigan, causing him to retreat and leave Lord Ghidorah behind at the mercy of the two heroic monsters, but Lord Ghidorah did escape to fight another day.
In 1973, Gigan teamed up with the Seatopian god, Megalon, to take on Jet Jaguar, a robot that can change sizes. When they were closing to destroying Jet Jaguar, Godzilla arrived to even the odds. After a long fight, Gigan retreated and left Megalon at the mercy of Godzilla and Jet Jaguar.
As the invasion went on, Gigan became more machine than monster, with his masters turning him into a modified version of himself with additional new weapons, such as blades for hands, dubbed "Bloody Triggers", which included grappling hooks that were called, "Hooking Anchors". He was also given a spiked tail.
Final confrontations with Godzilla and death[]
In 2004, Gigan had a short rematch with Godzilla in Antarctica, where the King of the Monsters blasted his head off, and the Bilusaludo went one of their ships to beam him up. Later that year, when Godzilla was facing off against the Xiliens' ultimate weapon, Monster X, the Bilusaludo upgraded Gigan once more, giving him double-chainsaws for hand, dubbed "Bloody Chainsaws", and they proved to be effective against friend and foe, when he hit Godzilla, but when the cyborg tried to do it a second time, Godzilla dodged the swipe, causing Gigan to accidentally hit Monster X. Mothra arrived to help Godzilla, and faced off against Gigan, dodging the cybernetic alien's bladed slicers (which were originally intended for use by Mechagodzilla), which resulted in the divine moth getting burned by Gigan's vizor beam. Gigan posed victorious before his bladed slicers, malfunctioned by Mothra's scales, boomeranged back and cut his head off. The headless cyborg staggered forward before Mothra flew through him and caused him to explode, killing him and ending his chaotic mischief.
Trivia[]
