Giovanni is the one of the two main antagonists (alongside Mewtwo) of the 2011 Pokémon Creepypasta Pokémon Tarnished Gold.
Like his canon counterpart, he is the leader of the criminal organisation Team Rocket, the former Gym Leader of Viridian City's Gym and Silver's father.
He is, however, revealed to be a cold-blooded serial killer who kidnapped several people around Viridian City and later held them captive underneath a secret room within the Gym, subjecting them to a fate worse than death by torturing them and later having their heads decapitated off by his Mewtwo. He serves as the archnemesis of his son Silver.
Personality[]
Giovanni is similar to his canon counterpart, being power-crazed and cruel towards his enemies, as well as seeing both people and Pokémon simply as tools.
However, in Tarnished Gold he is portrayed as a far more sadistic, cruel and heartless man, not hesitating to berate Silver and Gold for being attached towards Pokémon, traits far removed from his original who was affably evil and polite, as well as caring to his men. He is also a murderous psychopath, not caring for the lives he takes, as such when he kidnapped the entire citizens of Viridian City and subjected them to fates worse than death by having their heads decapitated off with his Mewtwo. This in return makes him a callous, sociopathic monster on the inside.
Background[]
Giovanni is firstly seen as a narrator, who taunts the player character Silver about attempting to rename his Totodile, leading to the player to be unable to rename it as it skips through the game.
He is later first physically seen when Silver enters through Viridian City, which is unusually empty and had barely any people around the usually busy city. It is revealed that he is responsible for their disappearances, as he kidnapped them and held them captive underneath the secret chamber of the Viridian City Gym. He would then torture them with his Mewtwo, leading to most of the victims being either headless with greyed-out bodies or losing their bodies but with their heads still existing.
Giovanni and his Mewtwo is seen fighting off against Gold and his Typloshion, before taunting the appearing Silver regarding his attempts to help Gold, to which he responds by killing him off with his Mewtwo. He then soon faces off against Silver, claiming that he either has to manipulate others to show his strength off or simply be manipulated, before stating his mantra of Pokémon and people being simply tools to be considered useless at the end. He attempted to order Mewtwo to kill Silver, but the Genetic Pokémon later turned against Giovanni, mocking him that he's no longer useful, before he is soon killed by him in the same fashion as Gold.
