Glitchtrap is the overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Musical, specifically serving as the main antagonist in the First Nights at Freddy's prequel series/movie.

He is a mysterious AI created by William Afton for therapy which is unintentionally released by his niece Elizabeth, and seeks to use Freddy Fazbear and his friends for his own agenda. He is the archenemy of Elizabeth Afton, the master of Trash and the Gang, and the rival of Vanny.

His voice is provided by Casey Dwyer. His body is portrayed by Gwen Pinkerton.

Appearance[]

Glitchtrap is a golden rabbit with a purple vest and bow. He also has purple eyes and floppy ears. He closely resembles a lose fitting, cloth mascot costume.

Personality[]

Glitchtrap has a perpetually playful, somewhat smug personality. He enjoys making quips like when he says Elizabeth could 'use a haircut' before trying to shove her head into a shredder.

Glitchtrap is shown to be a cruel, bitter misanthrope defined by his hatred of humanity and desire to make humans suffer. Its shown that this is the result of him being put away by William, unable to comprehend the fact that the reason William sealed him away was because he suggested soemthing evil.

Glitchtrap was created by William Afton as an adaptive artificial intelligence who consoled him as a therapist, but William would get more and more obsessed with talking to him and even considered him his own virtual son. One day, Glitchtrap gave William the idea to kidnap children to replace his deceased four-year-old son. Due to this solution being inhumane, William archived Glitchtrap and locked him away in his hard drive for years on end. This led to Glitchtrap despising all of humanity, swearing to take revenge on them when he's freed.

Years later, he was freed by William's niece Elizabeth Afton and his consciousness was transferred into a decommissioned golden rabbit costume.

Web of Lies[]

Glitchtrap appears to Elizabeth Afton while she investigates the death of her brother, Michael. Glitchtrap is revealed to be a hidden file with malicious intent, proving he knows about her and her uncle. He, along with Trash and the Gang, would then try to kill Elizabeth by feeding her to a paper shredder, but she would end up escaping the restaurant. After this, he finds and packs Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy into a box.

Dark Remains[]

After taking over the old restaurant, he holds Springtrap hostage while filling Mr. Can-Do with water and dropping Springtrap in it, in an attempt to force the rabbit to join him. But when he discovers that Elizabeth is still alive, he fries Bucket Bob as "motivation". He later returns and gives Springtrap the offer to join him. However, Springtrap refuses and bites his hand, revealing some of Glitchtrap's circuitry. He then leaves to repair it with some duct tape, but when he comes back, Mr. Can-Do's balloon was popped by the Puppet.

Glitchtrap won the Best Villain and Best Costume in RE Awards.
Ignoring how the official games retcon Glitchtrap in being the Mimic, this Glitchtrap is technically the third version of William Afton in the series (exc. Phone Guy, who was revealed to be Henry Emily pretending to be Afton) after AJ as the Purple Guy and Springtrap, before being followed by the real William Afton.
