I remember everything, Cass. You were wanting birthday cake, and I lured you to the back room. (Cassidy: no, it was him.) Oh no, it was me Cassidy, you’ve been dancing with the wrong bunny
~ Glitchtrap revealing the truth about The six missing kids

Vincent Afton (better known as Glitchtrap) is the main antagonist of the five nights at Freddy’s fan-series, FNAF Stories. He is the overarching antagonist of parts 1, 2, and 3, and the main antagonist of parts 4 and 5. He is the second personality and twin “brother” of William Afton. He is also a psychotic murderer who craves to escape William’s control and continue murdering innocent people as a “God.” He is William’s archenemy and the arch-nemesis of the animatronics (specifically Puppet and Cassidy).

History[]

Origin[]

William Afton was born to an extremely wealthy family. His birth killed his mother and his chemist father would constantly abuse him for it. One day, Afton’s father subjected him to a dangerous new chemical that ended up damaging his brain and creating a completely different personality living in Afton’s head. One day, Afton’s dad attempted to create an animatronic suit to make a fortune, but ended up dying due to a malfunction. Afton witnessed it and William was deeply traumatized, but his second personality was happy to have had a man who hated him die. Throughout the years, whenever William would let the personality take over, he’d kill stray animals and light parts of his school on fire. When William grew up, he married his high school sweet heart and fathered kids. Because of this, William would take multiple prescriptions to try and keep the other personality from breaking out. William eventually found a entertainment business with his friend, Henry Emily and gets put in charge of the robots. One day, William and the other personality would learn about a myth regarding a mysterious supernatural force called remnant, where a soul would possess anything and that object would become human like and more durable. Believing this could give him a physical body, the personality would convince William to study more about the mysterious force and even convinced him to tinker with a robot that William and Henry made and made it kill William’s daughter to see if she would come back and possess the robot. Upon seeing it was successful, The personality then tried to put the blame on William in an attempt to drive him insane and to easier to control him. The personality would then sabotage William and Henry’s designs to the point that William’s youngest son died while being bullied. The personality then learns of a spell to separate him from William, but first kills 6 kids for a long plan.

Part 1[]

Upon William deciding that he would try to revive his son (not realizing that he was already resurrected and possesses Golden Freddy with a girl ghost named Cassidy), William allied with his daughter to try and resurrected him. However, the six kids who died believe that William himself killed them and try to track him down and kill him. William is reluctant to confront them, but the personality convinces him to kill the animatronics and use their remnant to revive his son. William’s plans backfire and he ends up dead and possesses an old bunny suit. He is confused for a moment, but the personality reveals that he injected them with remnant so that they can find his son (in reality, the personality refuses to die).

Part 2[]

William (now known as Springtrap) has come back to obtain the remnant with the help of his daughter. For a good majority of the part, the personality keeps forcing Springtrap to keep trying. At the end of the part, Henry arrives and reveals that one of the kids who died was his daughter (who also possessed Puppet) and he lights the animatronics on fire (with the help of William’s son, Michael). Springtrap protects Circus Baby and sacrifices himself so that she will survive. The animatronics also survive and Cassidy beats him up for killing her and her friends. Before they can kill him, the personality takes over and tells them that he won’t suffer if he dies. In response, Cassidy uses her remnant energy to trap Springtrap in a mental hell. Before she can, the personality uses the spell and escapes just in time and Springtrap ends up trapped. The personality then lands in a group of circuits and ends up merging with it into a electricity themed phantom.

Part 3[]

Now a virus-like entity, The Personality takes the form of Glitchtrap and begins haunting a video game that Fazbear Entertainment was making. While doing so, he meets Vanny and realizes that she's William's long lost daughter. He convinces her to make a new body for him, and when she finishes, Glitchtrap uses it to kill a employee who had discovered him. He then decides to kill the animatronics to steal their remnant and further his goals. To do this, he locates Chris (William's youngest son's spirit) and convinces him to get revenge on The animatronics for being mean to him. He is then seen at the end of the part when Chris calls him and tells him that he refuses to attack his friends.

Part 4[]

After his original plan fails, he decides to get the job done himself and sends Vanny to abduct William (who had now gained the trust of most of the animatronics) and Golden Freddy. Once he has them, he taunts them about his crimes and proceeds to electrocute G. Freddy, but avoids torturing William because he can still feel pain if William feels pain. The animatronics manage to locate them, but Glitchtrap summons Twisted Animatronics (something Henry made for Fazbear Frights) and sends them after the animatronics. The Twisteds fail, however, and the animatronics rescue their friends. Vanny asks Glitchtrap what he plans to do and he says that she'll see.

Part 5[]

TBH

Personality[]

Glitchtrap is very psychotic and deranged, with the intelligence to match. He has no empathy for anyone, even willing to kill Michael Afton (who was William’s son and Glitchtrap’s “nephew”). He has no qualms murdering children and strangers just to further his own goals. At the end, when the protagonists get the upper hand, he attempts to pitifully beg for help before he is ultimately defeated.

Trivia[]

  • He appears to be a fan of Gravity Falls; mainly Bill Cipher.
  • William calls him Vincent and Chris calls him “Uncle Vinnie,” implying that that’s his given name.
  • It is confirmed that Vanny is William’s long-lost daughter, but it is implied that Glitchtrap might have r@ped the woman who gave birth to Vanny. If this is true, it would make him the only character that has r@ped someone.
  • He isn’t revealed to be the main antagonist until part 4.
  • He represents what Cassidy would have became had she had still wanted to hurt William.
