~ God, bragging about himself. |
God, or The Father, is the main antagonist of Hazbin Hotel.
He is a primordial being who is the Creator of the multiverse and all life in it, including archangels, angels, humans, and other creatures. He is the Father of Lucifer, Michael, Adam, and all other angels in Heaven. He is almost the complete inverse of the benevolent Abrahamic God in the worst way possible, creating universes, archangels, angels, Earth, other planets, and humans for his own amusement rather than any truly good purpose. Whenever he is angry, he goes as far to take his anger out on other universes within the multiverse, destroying said universes without a second thought.
He is the God and ruler of all Creation, the God of the Universe, the Supreme Ruler of Heaven, and the head of the Exorcists, a group of angels that are sent down to Hell by the orders of God to purge demons and sinners in hopes by doing so Hell and its demons will never rebel against the Heavenly order.
He is voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz who also voices both Moxxie and Crimson in Helluva Boss and Kaos in Skylanders.
Personality[]
When God was first introduced in the series, he was all around a pretty good guy, he was not the greatest, but it seemed like he was able to feel things like empathy, guilt and love. He carries an unbelievably strong presence outside of being a God in the most literal sense; he can sing, as well as being able to fool and prank people. God can downplay, upplay, sideplay, and slantplay like no one's business. He is unpredictable, and knows everything before it happens.
He views himself as irresistible and indispensable, evidenced by his overt confidence in his own appeal and his dismissive treatment of others. Furthermore, he is absolutely obsessed with sex and is very sexually open and expressive; he rarely goes a single sentence without saying something sexually explicit, and he uses sexual advances and assault as a casual form of interaction, often sexually assaulting people as a means of greeting, though he usually does this behind closed doors.
He is also massively hypocritical with his creations, as although he gives them strict diets and ridicules, fat shames them, or punishes them for eating food without his permission, he has no problem with messily gorging himself with fast food and and mango smoothies, sometimes right in front of them.
Although he may be a bit eccentric, God's tests are not to be taken lightly, as he will allow those who reject him and fall to temptation and sin to be damned, despite his mild warnings. God views everyone and everything around him as either a toy, an opportunity or an obstacle. He does not always get joy from the pain itself, but more the situation which as long it is not boring, he will enjoy it.
Despite this, he still a psychopath who is willing to do horrible things just to accomplish a goal, like manipulating and torturing sinners in Hell. He only does this because sinners never praised and worshiped him, which is something he vehemently dislikes. Unfortunately, the suffering of others seems to be the most stimulating thing to him.
Appearance[]
God appears differently to everyone who sees him, making it impossible to decipher his true form.
However, in the eyes of Charlie and the audience, God appears as a sharply dressed, slender, being with pure white skin, pearly white teeth, and no visible eyes on his face. His head is orbited by four, disembodied, floating eyes which are presumed to be his true eyes.
He wears a large top hat that has a golden cross on the crown, and wears white suit with gold accents, gold shoulder pads with the design of angel-life wings, dark grey gloves, and dress shoes with gold on the tips. He wears a long, flowing cape with the inside being a dull blue color while going whiter towards the ends, which sport the design of angelic wings. The underside of his cape has the design of a moving, blue galaxy.

“ | Wha?? Luci's daugther thinks sinners can be redeemed? Hah! Fuckin' hilarous! I'll never allow 'em to be redeemed! They didn't worship nor pray to me when they were alive, so why should they deserve to be up here in the afterlife? [...] Nah, like I give a fuck! They should be fuckin' grateful I created this universe, though I've kinda come to regret it now that I see how insolent and disobedient humanity have become. And who's to blame for that? Yes, lil' ol' Luci! I fuckin' hate him; he's DEFO no son of mine. Ha-ha-haa! | „ |
~ God to Michael. |
“ | God: Well, butter my wings and call me holy, I can't stand sin and vice! It's like steppin' in a puddle with fresh socks on - it's gross, unnecessary, and you know better! Now, y'all best clean up that mess before I have to go and get righteous on ya, 'cause Lord knows I will! Unnamed angel: W-wait- Aren't you the Lord? Did you just use your own name in vain? God: Oh yeah. Well, how 'bout you shut your mouth before I shut it for ya! |

Trivia[]
- He is based on God the Father, the omnibenevolent and omnipotent sovereign of creation who, in Abrahamic belief, created the universe and all within, including humanity in his own image.
- He has inspiration from Adam from Hazbin Hotel, notably having the same bloodlust and personality he does.
- God is a mentioned character throughout the entire show.
- Despite gluttony being a deadly sin, God is shown to enjoy eating food.
- God never gave himself an actual name. Despite being above names and titles, he wanted his "name" to be whatever his creations would end up calling him, so when humans and angels started calling him "God", he was like "a'ight, guess I'm God now."
