Cassidy is the main antagonist of the 2019 "After Hours" animation remake created by E.Breddy. They are a vengeful sprit who was killed by William Afton in the 1980's, with them now possessing a Golden Freddy suit and exhibiting a relentless thirst to give Afton what as coming to him.

They were voiced by E.Breddy, with extensive filters applied over the recorded lines to replicate the distorted speech of Fredbear from Ultimate Custom Night.

Biography[]

Originally one of the five victims killed by William Afton at some time in the 1980's, Cassidy has spent many decades wishing for vengeance upon the man behind the slaughter. A chance to act out this vengeance personally would arrive when Afton finally meets his own proper demise in a fire that consumes and destroys a simulated Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place.

Cassidy seized this opportunity, somehow managing to capture Afton and transport him to a hellish landscape before dropping him into a recreation of the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza from the first Five Nights at Freddy's. Cassidy then proceeds to activate the four animatronics, drastically increasing their aggression and spectating from the sidelines while Afton desperately attempted to survive against the animatronics.

Afton's first death is at the hook and hand of Foxy, and Afton is later transported to a recreation of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, where the cycle repeats as Cassidy conjures exceptionally hostile replicas of the second game's cast of characters. While Afton is not shown to die here in the animation, it can be reasonably assumed that he dies at least once before the location changes again.

The third major scene is a recreation of Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction from Five Nights at Freddy's 3, in which Cassidy not only summons copies of the Phantom animatronics, but even one of Afton's prior incarnations - the moldy-green fusion of man and machine known as Springtrap - to force Afton to come face to face with his own past wrongdoings.

Cassidy directly attacks Afton in the Attraction's office, before explicitly changing the environment to the House from Five Nights at Freddy's 4, again bringing forth the game's roster of twisted, nightmarish mockeries of the original Five Nights at Freddy's cast, as well as some from Five Nights at Freddy's 2. The same routine repeats again, before Cassidy explicitly changes the environment again.

The fifth major scene sends Afton into a one-on-one encounter with Ennard in Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location. Ennard succeeds at gouging out one of Afton's eyes and presumably even killing Phone Guy (though this may have simply been for dramatic effect). Following this encounter, Afton would then be placed against the remaining cast of Funtime animatronics from Sister Location, and captured by Circus Baby before Cassidy changes the scene again to Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator.

Once again forcing Afton to relive his last moments, Cassidy sends mimicries of the Scrap animatronics, including the second incarnation of Springtrap. Leaving Afton to fight these monsters alone, Cassidy takes control of El Chip and causes him to start the same fire that finally claimed Afton's life before confronting Afton once again. Cassidy transforms the setting into the Office from Ultimate Custom Night, sending every single animatronic from the past six locations down the halls, through the vents, and into the air ducts after Afton for one last time.

Afton is finally caught by Old Man Consequences, who then stuffs him into a horribly tattered Fredbear costume, just as Afton himself had done to cover up the murders of his victims in the 1980's.

Before Cassidy can restart the cycle of torment again, they are stopped by Old Man Consequences, who demands an audience with Cassidy. Bringing Cassidy to a glowing red lake in a pitch-black clearing surrounded by similar glowing red trees, Old Man Consequences tries to convince Cassidy to let go of their anger and cease their endless torturing of Afton.

While it initially appears that Cassidy agrees to leave the demon to his demons, it is instead revealed that they refuse to rest their soul, and presumably restart the cycle again off-screen.

Each time the environment shifts to reflect a different game, Cassidy's appearance changes to match the new location.
- Cassidy's first appearance reflects that of Golden Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's.
- Cassidy's second appearance reflects that of Withered Golden Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
- Cassidy's third appearance reflects that of Shadow Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's 3, as no traditional Golden Freddy appears in that game.
- Cassidy's fourth appearance reflects that of Nightmare Fredbear from Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
- Cassidy's fifth appearance reflects that of Yenndo, a secret character from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, who would later appear properly in the game's Custom Night.
- Cassidy's sixth appearance is a fan-made design called "Scrap Fredbear," created by DeviantArt user morigandero to reflect the character designs from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator.
- Cassidy's seventh appearance, which can also briefly be seen during the opening moments of the animation, reflects that of Fredbear from Ultimate Custom Night.
A running visual theme throughout the video is the animatronic AI level going from zero to twenty under Cassidy's influence. This is a reference to the various Custom Night modes found in most Five Nights at Freddy's games, in which a character's movement speed - and by extension, aggression and hostility - is determined by a value between zero and twenty.
- This AI system is actually used in some form in every game, even if it lacks a Custom Night, such as FNaF 3 and FNaF 4.
Every character from the first six Five Nights at Freddy's games appears in the animation, though not all of them actually appeared in Ultimate Custom Night.
- There are also two characters featured that did not appear until after the release of Ultimate Custom Night - Glitchtrap and PlushBaby (erroneously named "S. Bonnie Man" and "Babyplush," respectively). These characters first debuted in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted.
While Old Man Consequences and LOLBIT are both prominently featured in the animation, they are not the only characters from FNAF World to appear. Endoplush can be seen sitting motionless on the chair during the sequence with Plushtrap, Nightmare Balloon Boy, and PlushBaby.
- Along with William Afton himself, Endoplush is the only character to not have an AI level or portrait shown in the animation.
When changing from the FNaF 3 location to the FNaF 4 location, Cassidy holds a small black object with a glowing red dot in the palm of their hand. This is an Illusion Disk, a device heavily featured in the novel Five Nights at Freddy's: The Twisted Ones, and uses a high-pitch frequency to distort the vision of those within range. It is originally used to project an illusion over the bodies of the Twisted animatronics featured in the novel.
