History[]
Norman Osborn is the chief CEO of Oscorp. When he was younger, a symbiote used to take control of him, and since the symbiote was seperated from him, he found out that it caused him to have chronic disease. He also used to be the boss of Cletus Cassady until he became an independent crime lord. Eventually, a symbiote united with Cassady and they formed the supervillainous terrorist Carnage. Osborn at first wanted to take him down, thus ordering Peter Parker and Eddie Brock to track the monster and hunt him down. However, while things were seemingly alright, Harry Osborn injected him a formula which contains multiple symbiotes inside it. Harry was secretly employed by Carnage to do so, and the plans to turn Norman into the Green Goblin were successful. He vowed to kill Spiderman for turning him into a monster. However, Carnage later came into the scene and convinced the goblin to assist his plans, since the symbiotic formula was a gift and not a curse. He entered Drake's control room together with Carnage and they convinced Drake to send a rocket to Carnage's home planet as a symbiotic gift is awaiting for him. Drake agreed to help, and the goblin guarded the NASA base while this all happened. However, Spiderman fights him, and as the goblin is about to kill Parker, Venom came and shot him dead.
DC & Marvel: Fiction is Justice[]
The Goblin was later revived by a spell which Jason Cunningham asked Doctor Strange to cast for him, in order to make Ava Cross love him. The Goblin finds himself in the human world with a band of supervillains who at first do not know what they are doing alive and well, but when they realize that they're in the real world, all defeated and killed by their own foe superheroes, The Green Goblin took part in their alliance as against The Fantastic Knights and S.H.I.E.L.D.
The golbin accompanied Mister Negative as the two were ordered by The Toad who was the faction's leader to bring Ava to him. He was active during a fight against Ava and Jason, as the villains had the upper hand until Strange came. Strange however was killed by Toad. The goblin and Negative went to attack New York, just before Psylocke, Spiderman and Batman came to fight them and gained the upper hand. Tired of fighting against goodness, The Goblin confessed that he had a tragic background story; His disease influenced his life and when he asked his son Harry to make a cure for it, he used symbiote to turn him into a monster for Carnage and make him an ultimate killer. Psylocke offered him redemption, which he accepted.
Osborn[]
Norman wakes up in the morning and grabs some coffee from his robot assistant Ozzie. He goes to work at Oscorp, as he reclaimed the company, only until his right-hand man John Carnos usurps his position and fires him, all this while he discovered that both Carnos and Hobart Brown are planning to bring Oscorp back to what it was, thus doing unspeakable crimes. Osborn walks home sadly after being fired, but meets a mutant teenager called Roman Asgord, who was attacked by Hobart / The Prowler. After saving Roman, Norman Osborn offers him to live in his house, which he accepts. During the night, The Goblin persona appears as a hologram, warning that Prowler is dangerous and implying that he knows how to defeat him using Osborn's technologies.
Afterwards, The Prowler and another old foe from the ancient past called Morlun have both bombed up Norman's house, just so Morlun could rebuild what was there once upon a time. Osborn managed to escape the bombing together with Roman and Ozzie. However, before they could run off, Morlun and The Prowler entered the scene and started a battle against the protagonists. Norman however managed to defeat them and then escape from The Prowler and Morlun again, during their battle. He then hid with Roman and Ozzie inside an arcade. He told Roman to be careful and not talk to anyone due to the suspicion that anyone could be an Oscorp spy or agent. However, Roman found a love interest named Jean Grey, much to Norman's disappointment since he was afraid of Oscorp.
Much later in the series, Norman rejected a final battle after Roman Asgord didn't give up on his spirits, but Osborn did. However, Mary McPherran encouraged Osborn to fight and revive the goblin, as she wanted to settle her score with The Prowler for letting her down and manipulating her against him. The Goblin fought The Prowler as Mary stabbed the villain's heart with a sword, crushing the crystal inside The Prowler's heart and causing him to lose a lot his powers. Osborn successfully granted a wish for The Goblin to come back. After everyone, except The Goblin and The Prowler have exited the realm of the crystal which opens doors to the multiverse, The Prowler takes off his mask and begs The Goblin to let him go home. The Goblin however doesn't let that happen and tells him that the realm destroys itself 5 minutes after the crystal is gone, and as The Prowler threatens to put an end to The Goblin, they are both crushed by a meteor, as 5 minutes are up and the realm disappears to nowhere in existence.
