Alexey Alexandrovich Dobrovolsky otherwise he goes by his "Aryanized" name Gutrum Vagner is one of the Characters of Warlord Russia in the Hearts of Iron IV mod The New Order: Last Days of Europe present in the West Russian Region which he is a minor antagonist and a potentially villainous protagonist if the player chooses to play as him.

Biography[]
On 13th of October 1938, Alexey Alexandrovich Dobrovolsky was born in Moscow in the Former Soviet Union in Reichskommissariat Moskowien and served under the WRRF to ensure the Germans are pushed back from Moscow. Being shocked by the terror he saw during fighting, he suffered from mental trauma, from which that point would lead to his insanity, quickly defecting from the Red Army and to be never seen again.
After leaving the WRRF, he thought to himself if the Germans were correct that Russians were inferior and his ideas began to take form. He changed his name to "Gutrum Vagner" and believes that Russians can be Aryans but only a few that he sees as worthy candidates and allures a small following. His steps were to secure Perm as their base of Operations and Killing the Russians Slavic Government and enslaving most of the population. Soon enough he was gazing his eyes in every direction for conquest to purify Russia as the Germans Envisioned.

He is in control of Perm (called Permhaym another German mispelling as -hiem) that is recovering from his own brutal attack of raising the city and making it a slave camp Hellhole. His story if you choose him to play as takes the "Earn your bad ending" Trope since he is on the HARDEST ones to play since its the only state that has no air or Armor tech which is useful for unification wars and at the end result you have a very unstable Russia that 99% of the Population is about to rise up against your slavery and kill you.
When he reunifies Western Russia, he puts most of the ROA, WRRF, Tsarsists people and leadership in Slave Camps where he is known for being brutal to them. He institutes a new Language for the Russian slaves and his own loyal followers who are truly the ones free from any repression called "Deytch" which is a horrible mixture of Russian, German, and ironically Yiddish. Then he has to deal with Zigfrid Shultz coup which if he does kills him and his followers instantly. Afterwards he is focused to reunify Russia and seek to build a Aryan Friendship with Nazi Germany which fails (it succeeds if Goring is in charge).
Personality[]
Gutrum Vagner is a cowardly, delusional, psychopathic, genocidal, tyrannical, cocky asshole who treats his ministers and generals like garbage always insulting them if they are doing a bad job who has NO redeeming qualities whatsoever and this gets worse when you continue reunifying Russia
He is more cowardly when he gets defeated by another warlord begging for his life and giving disingenuous apologies like if that would repay for all of his horrendous crimes.
Trivia[]
- He is the 2nd Youngest Warlord the other youngest is Valery Sablin
- His starting city of Permhaym was renamed to be more "aryan" and will switch back to Perm if another warlord conquers it
- While idealism is not a strange thing within far-right ideologies, if one were to compare Vagner's interpretation of National Socialism in contrast to what actual German Nazis believed, one would find that actual National Socialism takes somewhat of materialist approach to race (in a pseudoscientific sense) that can be to one extent compared to Marxist method (though obviously Marxism dismissing their analysis as pseudoscientific as well and not actually materialist), while Vagner's method is entirely idealistic, as the subject (the Aryan will) is more important than the actual race of an individual (the object).
- Ironically the man who is in command of the Slave Revolt, Alexander Medvedev, was originally the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood taking his "Aryanized" name Andreas Mair which was changed when the Devs focused more on lore and saw he was not appropriate for the role since in real life he was a very loyal Soviet soldier who fought against Nazi Germany and the Devs being scared that his family would find out about his role in the mod and made the Alexey Dobrovolsky the leader
- The Reason why Alexey Dobrovolsky was chosen was that in real life he was a Soviet Dissident who was once a Solidardist that turned to Nazi Influenced Slavic Neopagan that befriended Zigfrid Shultz until he had a falling out with him due to the fact he was more of a Slavic NeoPagan extremist than him which sounded well for the role.
