Hardshell is a major antagonist of Transformers: Prime fanfic Stop Me. Originally one of the many Insecticon soldiers of Megatron's ranks, Hardshell was recruited to hunt Starscream down, and eventually promoted to the officer's position.
History[]
Hardshell was put in charge of one of four groups that were sent by Megatron to track Starscream down and capture him. Sent to Hawaii, he encountered Bulkhead and Breakdown and tried to make them reveal Starscream's whereabouts, only for duo to start fighting him and his Insecticons. When the Autobots retreated, he started chasing them, while at the same time informing Megatron about the fact that Starscream hadn't arrived yet. Eventually finding Breakdown, Hardshell and his Insecticons attacked him. However, they found out that it was a trap set by Wreckers, which led to one of Insecticons being killed. In the ensuing battle Breakdown managed to kill another Insecticon before Soundwave arrived and informed Wreckers about the fact that Insecticons were simple ploy, making them return to base.
Later Hardshell and C.Y.L.A.S. arrived to the canyon with the Insecticon being tasked with pushing the former human to his limits. When Smokescreen, who was in the same canyon, attacked them, the duo managed to defeat him, but before they could finish him off, they were interrupted by Starscream who shot C.Y.L.A.S. in the chestplate, sending him flying back. During the ensuing battle Hardshell, despite his attempts to to fixate on the seeker, was forced to fight Smokescreen. Eventually the duo was forced to retreat after Optimus Prime's arrival. After his return to Nemesis the Insecticon informed Megatron about the encounter.
Hardshell and C.Y.L.A.S. managed to capture Wheeljack, Arcee and the Autobot's human allies, taking them hostage in order to exchange them for Starscream. While seeker agreed to let the Decepticons capture him, Shockwave's sudden appearance interrupted the Decepticons' plans, allwoing Arcee to free herself. During the ensuing battle Hardshell returned to the Nemesis with Wheeljack.
When Wheeljack managed to escape the chamber, the Insecticon tried to stop him, only to be defeated. However, he managed to inform C.Y.L.A.S. about the Autobot's escape.
Shockwave, Hardshell and C.Y.L.A.S. were sent to the ruins of the Autobot's base in order to find the lifeless remains of their enemies' bodies. Failing to do this, they instead collected random scrap and Shockwave made a crown from it in order to psychologically break Starcream, which led to the seeker's failed attempt to escape.
Later Hardshell was among the Decepticons who witnessed Predaking's arrival on Darkmount. The Insecticon tried to approach him, only for the Predacon to growl at him, making him step back.
When C.Y.L.A.S. tried to persuade Starscream to work for him, Hardshell tried to stop the former human, only for him to force the Insecticon to assist him. When the trio arrived to the Insecticon's hive, the seeker attacked C.Y.L.A.S., tricking the Insecticons, including Hardshell, to wound the former human. Later, C.Y.L.A.S. was discussing Megatron's plans with Hardshell, using his control over the Insecticons to force him to follow his orders. When they and another Insecticon, Bombshock, arrived to Starscream's chamber, C.Y.L.A.S. attacked Predaking for daring to block him the way to Starscream, only for the seeker to interfer and attack the former human, getting the Insecticons out of his control.
When Megatron located the Harbringer, an old Decepticon ship that Autobots used as a temporary base, C.Y.L.A.S. got Hardshell and Bombshock under his control for the second time and revealed his plan to either strike down defeated Megatron or encourage him to let Shockwave use more invasive methods to get information from Starscream.
After Starscream successfully escaped and C.Y.L.A.S. was recaptured, Hardshell reassumed the command of the hive.
