“	I was from a poor family, and my birth wasn't even intentional. My parents hated me, they told me I shouldn't exist, as I was costing them so much... but even then, I felt bad for them. I knew I was cursing them. But I didn't want to. I didn't commit suicide to take me off their shoulders, as that would make them pay for my funeral, so I decided I wanted to make a lot of money. I loved singing in my spare time, sooo it hit me! I wanted to be a singer, as that would make a lot of money, and they wouldn't have to worry about it! But... it failed. My songs all flopped. My parents told me to "Stop wasting everyone else's time like you are with us", and at that rate, I realised I couldn't do anything to make them happy... They were ungrateful about me trying to help them, so I just cut ties with them... it really hurt to, as I spent my whole life trying to help them, but in the end, I managed to do it with a massive hole in my heart. I turned into a life of street crime, as I was now struggling with my own financial problems on my own, I couldn't get a good job due to me being too focused on my singing ambitions, that I never focused on a backup. Found myself working for gangs, selling drugs, robbing people, shoplifting, and occasionally I'd slit someone's throat for the cash. Shame I ended up this way, but that's how life is. Those who were born rich never understand what it's like to be poor...	„

Heather Pepitone is one of the two secondary antagonists of Monsters Among Humanity. She is a cunning, ruthless gangster who helped Derek escape prison. She once wanted to be a singer to provide for her poor yet abusive parents, but after a while she reluctantly gave up due to how ungrateful they were about her trying to help, and turned into a life of crime.

Personality[]

Heather is a rather cold-hearted individual, who will do anything to get her hands on money. She is pretty smart and witty, as she knows how to persuade people very easily, and is known as a cunning thief/gangster. She is also good at tricking and deceiving others, and is quite manipulative. She doesn’t seem to be scared of much, as she’s willing to put herself in very dangerous situations if it benefits her. She is also ruthless, as she is not hesitant to injure or even kill someone. She did also seem to enjoy teasing the prison guards.

Despite being a ruthless gangster, on the inside, Heather isn’t all bad. She was once a kindhearted person who wanted to help her parents out of poverty, even though her parents hated her as she was an accident, and even tried singing to make money for them. Eventually, she reluctantly gave up due to how ungrateful they were, and she was forced to turn into a life of crime to get by as she hardly had any other qualifications or skills other then singing, which was a bust. Even though she’s moved on from her parents, she still feels a hole in her heart due to what happened, showing she is still hurting.

Villainous Acts[]

She is a gangster who has done many shady things just for cash, such as stealing from people, selling illegal drugs and shoplifting.
It’s stated several times that she’s killed several people in cold blood offscreen.
When in jail, she caused a prison riot to distract the guards.
She helped Derek escape from prison, fully aware what kind of person he was.
She robbed a clothes store at gunpoint to steal clothes for her and Derek.
She and Derek stalked Zephixa and Cassie around, then followed Zephixa and Cassie up an abandoned building, then restrained Cassie so Derek could throw Zephixa off the roof.
She told Midnight she was willing to kill Cassie just for the bounty, and convinced him to join her and Derek.
She slit a postman’s throat in front of Joshua, and tore up the S.O.S. letters he was going to send.
She was completely fine with going along with Derek’s plan of barricading people inside their homes with explosives, and using it to blackmail Zephixa, by forcing her to come or having part of the village blow up and kill a ton of people. To make this worse, she was completely ok when Derek went back on his deal, showing she’s willing to do anything for money, even if dozens of innocent people are killed.
When she caught Charlotte defuse a bomb, she attacked her, then brutally wounded/tortured her by beating her, slicing her repeatedly with her knife, and then stabbing her legs multiple times. (MORAL EVENT HORIZON)
- To make things worse, she later shot off one of her knees, causing Charlotte to scream in pain, lose that leg permanently and get an artificial replacement. (MORAL EVENT HORIZON)
- She said she had no intentions of killing Charlotte, because she wanted to blackmail Charlotte’s family by holding her for ransom to get a lot of money.
- When Miyuki got angry at her for torturing Charlotte, she tried to justify it by saying how Charlotte was “selfish, whiny, toxic and money hungry”, which clearly wasn’t true, showing how envious Heather was.
She tried to kill Miyuki when she was protecting Charlotte, even showing a bit of happiness that she’d get a tenth kill.

Heather is a 30 year old white woman with short brown hair, green eyes (with a blindfold on one eye), scars on her face and is decently tall. She wears a leather jacket, black leather gloves, black leather trousers and black boots.

Trivia[]

Despite how ambiguous it was in the story whether or not she survived being stabbed by Miyuki, the author confirmed that Heather survived, and was treated in the hospital before being sent to a higher security prison.
