Brian, better known as Herobrine, is the main antagonist of The Story of Minecraft, a webseries on the SeaWattgaming Youtube channel.
He was once an NPC alongside Steve and Alex trapped in an endless void, but after getting freed thanks to the powers of a Command Block, they started training in a village where each gained their occupations. Steve and Alex became famous, but Brian remained relatively unknown. One day, he found a Command Block in the wild and, overcome with power, used this to basically become a god and "help" the villagers. He is also the former master of the Illager captain and the arch-nemesis of Steve, Alex and the Wandering Trader.
He, like most other characters in the series, was voiced by SeaWattgaming.
Biography[]
The Story of Herobrine[]
He, Steve, and Alex were trapped inside an endless cage of nothing for an unknown amount of time. One day, a Command Block appeared with a sign saying "Create World." They pulled the lever and were suddenly transported into the Minecraft world, right next to a village. It was there that they began to train. Herobrine became a cartographer, whereas Steve became a craftsman and Alex became a weaponsmith. While Steve crafted tools that would help the villages prosper and Alex saved villages from zombies with her sword, Brian didn’t do anything to make him famous. After the three separated to go on their separate adventures, Brian was constantly mistaken for the legendary hero Steve. He began to become jealous of his two friends for their popularity. During one of his journeys, he found the Command Block that previously freed him, Steve, and Alex in the wild. Experimenting with this, he found out that he could do things that could never been done before.
Having obtained the power to do anything he wants, he went around villages to “help” them under the alias of "Herobrine." At first, he was actually doing great stuff for them, like giving them an infinite supply of bread, which the villagers were very grateful for. However, he began to trap the villagers inside a Bedrock cage to “keep them safe.” Eventually, Steve and Alex found out what was happening and confronted Herobrine. They tried to tell him to stop, but overwhelmed with his new sense of power, he refused and trapped them both inside a Bedrock cage.
The Story of Minecraft's First Wandering Trader[]
Herobrine continued to trap more and more villagers, and he eventually came across the Pillagers. He decided to join the group and continued on his journey. Eventually, one of the trapped villagers questioned Herobrine's motives, and as they were talking, Minecraft's first Wandering Trader managed to steal the Command Block from Herobrine. Herobrine chased the Wandering Trader back to the Bedrock cage where Steve and Alex were trapped, but it was too late as the trader had already used the Command Block, stripping Herobrine of his powers and freeing Herobrine's former friends. Without the power of Creative Mode, Herobrine surrendered peacefully to Steve and Alex and was trapped inside the Bedrock cage by Steve, Alex, and the Wandering Trader. While Herobrine seemed permanently imprisoned in the cage, the Pillager Captain managed to free him thanks to an Enderpearl stasis chamber Herobrine set up earlier.

Herobrine makes a very brief appearance alongside the Wandering Trader and the Pillager Captain when the Scientist is experimenting with the portal in the ancient city and places the music disc "Mellohi" into the jukebox. The three can be seen in the void for a few seconds.
