The Highests are the overarching antagonists of the Sonic.exe: Nightmare Universe series created by JaizKoys.
They are selfish and totalitarian cosmic entities responsible for the continuous creation and erasure of all known life, planets and dimensions. While they were originally all non-violent pacifists known as the Angels[1], their exposure to Chaos transformed them into all-powerful immortal deities bent on controlling the multiverse. Their archenemy, Exetior, was originally a Highest himself, but was banished to Hell by them and transformed into an Arch-Demon after attempting to usurp their grip of power.
Overview[]
Millions of years ago, the Angels and the Demons had worked together to create universes while at the same time regulating each other as to not upset the balance of power between them. The Demons realized that the Angels could be exploited due to their benevolent nature, and had formed a "truce" that allowed them to work together. In reality, this was an excuse that downplayed the horrific control the Demons had on the Angels.
Eventually the work of creating universes became to much of a burden and the Demons created a sentient virus-like energy known as "Chaos" that embedded itself in every corner of the multiverse. Not only did this energy transform the Demons into powerful Arch-Demons, but would also aggregate the Angels into powerful beings that would become the Highest. These new beings had become so powerful that they could easily create planets, dimensions and fill them with all sorts of life on their own. However, they also have the power to erase them from existence in order to restart from scratch. They use this power to erase Mobius multiple times and re-create it out of sheer boredom.
However, one Highest in particular named Exetior actually felt some form of attachment to Mobius over time and was also fascinated with the demons despite them being sworn enemies. To learn more about them and use that information to put a stop to Mobius' constant series of erasure, he disguised himself as a Sharpness Demon. Unfortunately, after losing the war between the Highests and the demons, he was banished to Hell and turned into an actual Sharper.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Highest physiology: Being Angels that were augmented by the power of Chaos, the Highests are almighty creator gods with nigh-limitless power at their fingertips. They are capable of creating entire planets and dimensions[1][2], can fly, teleport, manipulate light, utilize telekinesis, telepathically communicate with minds, change their size to grow as large as planets, and even shapeshift into other beings. The "Elite" class of Highests are so powerful that they completely eclipse nearly everything in the series[3], including even Hyper Sonic[4].
- Possession: The Highest can possess mortals to disguise themselves, being shown with how Exetior and Stich-Lite can control both Sonic and Sally respectively.
- Reality warping: The Highest are extremely powerful reality bending cosmic entities. Some are even comparable to Arch-Demons such as Xato, who have the ability to melt reality around them just by existing. Their primary ability is complete erasure of anything from existence, capable of wiping out entire civilizations in the blink of an eye. They have done this to several different planets and dimensions they have gotten bored of.
Members[]
- All-Father - The leader of the Highests and the most powerful of all of them. He alone is considered Exetior's biggest threat due to his power and intellect.
- Stich-Lite - The daughter of All-Father, known for her psychotic personality and her cruelty towards her enemies. She was born as a Highest and brutally tortured Sark, harboring a love-hate relationship with him.
- Brave-Lite - An enigmatic Highest with little known about them.
Former[]
- Exetior - An Elite Highest who converted to the Demons' side after having enough of the Highest's omnicidal ways, Exetior sought out the demons to help him put an end to Mobius' constant series of erasure. While it seemed as though he was in the lead, Exetior ultimately lost the war and was turned into an Arch-Demon (whom he had disguised himself as).
Trivia[]
- The Highests share the same name with the species present in Sonic.exe: The Spirits of Hell. Many had even considered them the same at some point until both JaizKoys[5] and Danuha2526[6] clarified that the two were completely unrelated.
