John Gillman, also known as Homelander, is the secondary antagonist of the DEATH BATTLE episode, "The Seven Battle Royale" and one of the two titular villainous protagonists of the DEATH BATTLE episode, "Omni-Man VS Homelander." He is an egotistical "hero" from The Boys who enjoys committing mass murder and several crimes behind his heroic facade. He is Omni-Man's arch nemesis.
He is voiced by Yong Yea, who also voiced Sanji in the same series.
Personality[]
Like in The Boys, Homelander is a tyrannical, murderous, and manipulative monster only pretending to be a hero for the public eye. He is willing to kill, cheat, and injure just to get his way. Despite his abilities, he is also rather inexperienced and stupid in combat due to always being above everyone else and using brute force to bully people, and is rather childish and petty, which comes out as heinous actions, such as murder.
History[]
The Seven Battle Royale[]
Homelander appears as what is supposed to be a referee for the battle, watching the fight from above to prevent anything going too far. Naturally, given his record on his show, Homelander did nothing to stop the several people in the buildings getting killed by the fight's effects. When Billy Butcher won the fight and was about to be declared the winner, Homelander stomped him to a pulp, claiming his own unofficial victory. When Wizard and Boomstick talk about the result, Homelander lasers Wizard's good arm off, forcing him to declare Homelander the winner. He later meets up with Stormfront and the two are implied to have fought for fun after the episode.
Omni-Man VS Homelander[]
Homelander is seen in Omni-Man's house in Christmas time. He talks to Nolan about his role in America as its hero, and expresses distaste for Omni-Man's presence. He then reveals he killed Nolan's wife, Debbie, offscreen and proceeds to threaten Nolan to get out of his country. Omni-Man calmly tells him he will feed him his own heart, which Homelander initially takes as a laugh until the fight starts. During the fight, Homelander and Omni-Man cause tons of property damage, then murder in the case of Homelander lasering a plane down. Eventually, it becomes clear that Homelander is no match for Omni-Man, when he starts lecturing the villain for being weak. Homelander then attempts to prove this wrong by breaking Nolan's eardrums with his supersonic scream and sending him to the ground so hard, several bystanders are disintegrated in the explosion.
However, Omni-Man is completely unharmed by the attack, leading Homelander to lose his temper over his futile efforts and his true image being exposed. He attempts to use his heat vision on Omni-Man's eyes in a final attempt to kill him, claiming he will also kill the entire neighborhood, everyone Omni-Man knows, and his son, Mark, when he is done with him. Omni-Man finally decides to end the fight by breaking Homelander's jaw open, then ripping out his heart and shoving it in his open mouth, fulfilling his promise. He then crushes his head, ending Homelander's reign for good.

- Homelander's fight against Omni-Man is considered one of the most lopsided fights in the series, with everyone, including his voice actor, and The Boys and Invincible creators, easily knowing that Omni-Man would easily beat Homelander.
- Despite this, the battle is considered one of the best battles in the series, amassing over 13 million views, primarily due to its animation and how most people wanted to see Homelander getting killed after everything he has done in The Boys.
