Villain Overview

THIS PAGE AND ALL OTHER LSMP-RELATED PAGES ARE TO BE LEFT ALONE UNTIL WE HAVE FINISHED OUR OWN WIKI

As they say, what doesn't kill you... (demonic voice) only makes you stronger! (cackles maniacally)
~ Horus during the end of the Taiga Arc.

Child, you made a grave mistake touching that.. Did anyone ever told you about manners? Tsk, tsk, tsk.. Impolite... (smiles sadistically)
~ Horus after Aikkop attempted to break his skull, which proved unsuccessful.

Horus is the main antagonist of the Lightning SMP series.

He serves as the unseen overarching antagonist of the Vault Arc, the main antagonist of the Taiga Arc, one of the two overarching antagonists of the Liberal Arc (along with Zillius), and the overarching antagonist of the ongoing Indigo Arc.

Outside of the main series, he also appears in several spinoff stories. He serves as the deuteragonist in The Devil’s Pact, a mentioned character in The Village With No Light, and the main antagonist of When Stars Fell.

He is voiced by server owner, Zillius123.

Appearance[]

Alive Form[]

Horus' alive form hasn't been seen or described thoroughly yet, the only description comes from ancient murals that described Horus as "a king with six eyes and seven tongues, ghostly skin, a voice of a thousand locusts with hands capable of slicing a man in half". SERVER stated that Horus has the ability to alter his size unlike other Reptillius who stay the same size like Zillius, which might explain why the fossilized skull of his alive form is gigantic.

Within the ruins of the Temple of Hormlash, there consists of various murals depicting Horus. One of them depicts Horus as a humanoid in black armor with bat-like wings emerging from the darkness, another mural depicts Horus as a titanic snake devouring several deities.

Spirit Form[]

As a spirit, Horus can change his appearance into whatever he wants. However, his most prominent spirit form is that of a tall humanoid similar to Zillius with purple eyes, he sports a black and indigo suit, he has charcoal skin and has a smile that resembles that of a scarecrow's. He sometimes wears a crown identical to Zillius' but colored grey and with an amethyst replacing the ruby. His lower body is replaced with a tail-like shadow that can extend and grab objects.

Horus has other forms such as a giant purple disembodied eye that stares eerily and a swirl of dark gas with glowing eyes and mouth.

Dream Form[]

Within the dreams of his victims, Horus can warp the dream and take any appearance he wishes. When he tormented Zillius, Horus took the appearance of an inverted-color Zillius with indigo and lime king's robe, purple eyes and a violet crown, Horus also added bloodstains to this form's robe in order to remind Zillius of his true self. In Aikkop's dream, Horus manifests as his usual spirit form but with his lower body instead of his tail-like shadow.

Personality[]

The itsy bitsy v0xy came up the hill of ice

Down came the lightning that paralyzed his life
Out came the sun that dried up all the blood
The itsy bitsy v0xy is now a lifeless crud (chuckles)

~ Horus sadistically mocking v0yx after the latter got struck by lightning.

Horus comes off as a charismatic and well-mannered individual. He is classy and sophisticated, giving off a regal aura towards others and making them see Horus as this civilized gentleman. He believes first impressions are important, he maintains a polite and sympathetic personality, capable of sympathizing with those who have faced tragedies and sorrows in their life, as he can understand their pain. Horus' personality can be simplified as two sides of a coin; towards his allies, he is incredibly charming and polite, never even showing any signs of disdain nor hatred, but towards his enemies, Horus is extremely sadistic and cruel, taking pleasure and satisfaction in torturing his enemies, he believes by scarring his enemies would get them out of his way, leaving them out of harm's way. In front of everyone, Horus never shows any anger or frustration should his plans fail, maintaining a collected and calm personality.

Horus has proven to be incredibly calculative and cunning, targeting his enemies' loved ones to gain leverage and influencing cults into following his twisted plans. He is loyal to his minions and cares about them, treating them as if they were his offspring. Horus takes any opportunity to attempt to corrupt and manipulate his enemies so they won't get in his way, he also almost always has a backup plan should his main plans fail, making him steps ahead of his enemies. He also frequently makes deals with others, typically to those who has suffered, in these deals, he would usually offer to rid them of their suffering in return they would aid him in his goals. He doesn't ask for their souls or sacrifices or anything like that, rather he merely requires their aid in his plans. He sees this way as a win-win scenario, where he gets additional aid and the other individual can achieve their initially-impossible goals.

Despite his sadistic and cruel nature, he still cares for others, as he deeply cares for and raised his adopted daughter, Aurora. Long ago, he once met a mysterious figure known as Arius, falling in love with her and presumably dating her. However, their relationship ended after Horus began abusing necromancy which is considered as a great sin of nature. Besides that, he has many friends and allies across the world, usually other spirits and supernatural entities, but also sometimes humans who have made deals with him.

Powers and Abilities[]

Horus is far more powerful than any deity that we know, except SERVER of course.
~ Zillius, about Horus.

Powers[]

  • Nigh-Omnipotence: Horus was considered one of the most powerful entities in the Lightning SMP universe, almost capable of defeating SERVER even with the Elemental Swords. Horus possessed nearly omnipotent levels of primordial and dark magic, wielding power that could easily decimate the End Islands and erase other powerful beings such as the Wither and the Ender Dragon. As of now, Horus is severely weakened when SERVER killed him however he still retains some of his powers as a spirit.
    • Weather Manipulation: Horus can manipulate the current weather and can easily cast a thunderstorm with a snap of a finger. These thunderstorms are widespread and stretch dozens of miles long.
    • Withering Spear Construction: Horus can create a spear composed of withering clouds that are capable of piercing through a deity. Horus used this against Inmos when the latter fought him, piercing through Inmos' chest and inflicting a withering effect that slowly decays Inmos from the inside until the latter’s imminent death.
    • Telekinesis: During the burial fight in “Into the Dune”, Horus lift up several pillars of sandstone before sending them towards Inmos. Horus attempted to stop Aikkop from putting down the exorcist lanterns by telekinetically dragging her towards him but was stopped by Inmos.
    • Electrokinesis: Horus is capable of summoning bolts of lightning to attack his enemies, these lightning bolts are capable of burning down a forest and crippling a human wearing iron armor. Horus can alter the frequency of the bolts and can also use them as a way of disorienting his enemies.
      • Electric Beam Emission: In a flashback in "Banishments", Horus, when he was alive, fired a beam of concentrated purple and violet electricity from his hand towards two deities. This beam easily decimated the two deities and left nothing but ashes in their place.
    • Darkness Manipulation: Horus masters in umbrakinesis, he is able to destroy and extinguish most light sources within a 120 meter radius. He is capable of inflicting the blindness effect to distract his enemies, Horus can see perfectly well in the dark, though this could be perhaps he has adapted to the dark or naturally has night vision, he is capable of seeing invisibility particles in pitch black. During his prime, Horus was able to darken the entire sky of a continent and prevent any sunlight from coming through. Horus has not shown the full potential of his umbrakinesis, however.
      • Umbrakinetic Constructs: Horus can manipulate the darkness and solidify it to create various constructs, he is able to construct enchanted weapons and armors for his followers. Horus can make crying obsidian out of darkness to immobilize his enemies. Horus is theorized to be the cause of various stalagmites composed of crying obsidians to manifest in the Nether. In “Into the Dune”, Horus transformed his arm into a large shadow tentacle to slam Inmos to the wall of the burial.
      • Crying Obsidian Manipulation: Horus is able to manifest liquid blobs of crying obsidian out of darkness to encase his enemies in and solidify it to entrap his enemies. He is also able to turn some of the surrounding sandstone in his burial into crying obsidian that spreads whenever an exorcist lantern breaks.
    • Transmutation: As implied by the Paladin, Horus gave the latter the “perfect body” (his Enderman body) in order for the messenger to be stronger than the rest of his kind.
    • Advanced Necromancy: Horus is the most powerful necromancer in the world and is capable of raising the dead back to life just to inflict chaos and terror. Horus is also capable of saving himself from being sent to Limbo and unlike most spirits who return to the Living Realm due to unfinished business, Horus is different and is fully himself thus making him far more powerful than regular spirits. However, as a spirit, he can no longer use necromancy unless he is revived by an outside force.
      • Reanimation: Horus can utilize his necromancy knowledge and bring back deceased creatures to the living realm. The undead creatures that Horus summons lack the original souls they once have and are only mindless pawns that attack any human that comes in their way. During his reign, he casted a reanimation spell throughout the Overworld and the Nether.
      • Soul Absorption: Horus, both alive and dead, can absorb soul energy from living creatures, spirits and soul fire. Horus typically uses this ability to enhance his capabilities but is mentioned to sometimes absorb souls just for his own pleasure. Zillius also possesses this ability but to a lesser extent, suggesting that any Reptillius can absorb soul energy.
    • Shade Snake Control: Horus possesses absolute authority and control over the shadow creatures known as shade snakes. He can communicate with them telepathically and order them to do whatever he tells them to do. Since he is currently imprisoned in his skull, Horus uses the shade snakes as his eyes and ears to spy on the SMP, he is able to see what the shade snakes are seeing while still being imprisoned.
    • Mind Manipulation: Quite possibly Horus' most deadliest abilities, Horus uses this ability in order to tear apart his enemies minds. Horus can enter the minds of others and twist it to cause psychological pain to his victims. Once a victim is vulnerable enough, Horus can infect their minds and make them obey him. Should a victim be infected by Horus, their eyes will turn into a shade of purple and become more aggressive, a person with strong enough willpower can somewhat halt the infection as shown by Zillius, who's left eye is a shade of purple while the right is still normal. Despite that, Zillius suffers from nightmares and immense psychological pain from time to time and sometimes develops an unusual bloodlust that is not shown before by Zillius.
      • Dream Manipulation: Horus can enter the dreams of others and manipulate the dreams into nightmares. Akin to Freddy Krueger, Horus can manipulate the dream world into anything he wishes, Horus however cannot kill them in their dreams nor he can restrict them into their dreams. This ability is usually used to slowly reduce the sanity of his victims to the point where they go completely insane.
      • Hallucination Inducement: Horus is able to cause hallucinations as a way to confuse his enemies or to mentally torture them, Horus was capable of conjuring disembodied voices and illusions of fire and lava to torture Aikkop.
      • Telepathy: Horus is capable of seeing into the minds of individuals and find their darkest secrets, he uses this ability to exploit their fears and render them vulnerable. Horus can also telepathically speak to others. Horus is able to make his victims remember memories that their minds have sealed away in order to torture them. This ability seemingly has no limit and is still capable of being used even after being restrained.
      • Scrying: Horus can see the world through the eyes of the shadowy creatures known as shade snakes, while still being imprisoned. This ability is similar to Telepathy and also has no limit. Horus used this ability to spy on Distortion and Zillius.
  • Spirit Physiology: When he was defeated by SERVER using the Elemental Swords, Horus managed to cast a spell on himself at the right moment, allowing him to come back to life as a spirit. After coming back as a spirit, Horus acquired new useful abilities such as intangibility and shapeshifting, but he noticed that he was significantly weaker compared to when he was alive, thus he now relies more on his intellect and manipulation skills over raw power. Despite that however, Horus is still incredibly powerful for a spirit and is possibly far stronger than the other Spirits of Hormlash.
    • Intangibility: Horus, due to now being a spirit, is intangible and can phase through any solid surface with ease. He is capable of phasing through swords, axes, arrows and fireworks, making him invincible to any form of physical attacks, Horus can perform selective intangibility which allows the dark god to physically touch others while they can't touch him. However, he is unable to phase through exorcistic magic and is harmed by it, objects imbued with exorcistic magic are capable of restraining Horus and keeping him in place. As shown when Inmos created the Exorcist Lanterns to serve as nullifiers to Horus.
    • Technology Interference: Horus is capable disrupting most forms of technology such as chat (a phone-like device) and monitor screens. He is also able to use this ability to interfere with SERVER's scanners to make himself undetectable by the mechanical avatar.
    • Immortality: As a Pure Reptillius (unlike Zillius who is half human), Horus was impervious to aging and diseases and can only be killed by manual means. After being killed and turned into a spirit, Horus is now completely immortal and can't be send to Limbo easily. Currently, there is no way to send Horus to Limbo where all deceased individuals are supposed to go.
    • Teleportation: Despite Horus' ability to effortlessly fly around and phase through solid surfaces, He prefers the use of teleportation as a way to navigating. Horus seemingly almost has no limit to how far he can teleport as he can teleport to v0yx and maim him despite the human being thousands of blocks away from Horus' skull. Horus cannot teleport across dimensions and therefore must use a portal to travel between dimensions.

Abilities[]

  • Authority: Horus holds absolute dominion over the Void Screamers and numerous other cults, with dozens of members ready to do what he orders. Horus is also the de-facto leader of the Spirits of Hormlash, all the members respect Horus and consider him their generous lord. Horus also holds authority over undead mobs, despite them being simple-minded Horus can control them to do his dirty work.
  • Genius-Level Intellect: Horus is incredibly intelligent, he primarily uses his mind instead of brute strength. Horus is a exceptional learner, able to memorize and master various types of magic. During the start of his genocide campaign, Horus was able to locate his family, including his father, and end them. After falling in love with Arius, Horus deceived her with his charm in order to cease the risk of her finding out Horus’ crusade. When Arius figured out his plans, Horus broke up with her and disappeared without leaving a trace behind.
  • Manipulation: Horus utilizes his debonair and charismatic personality to get others into making deals with him. When he was alive, Horus manipulated several deities into turning on each other in order to make it easy to get rid of them, and now as a spirit, his manipulation skills have grown tremendously as he can casually whisper thoughts peoples' minds so they can indirectly help him. Horus likes to peer into one's mind and find their deepest desire to exploit them, Horus also deceives other into thinking he is powerless only revealing his true powers when it's too late.
  • Intimidation: One of Horus' most utilized traits is striking fear into his enemies, Horus is well aware of his reputation as the dark tyrant that nobody mentions anymore in spite of fear, he uses that fear to make sure others obey him. Horus' own mythology was altered by the Egyptians just so their descendants won't grow up in fear like they did, Horus also induces fear to some of his subordinates as a way to ensure they stay in check, just the mention of his name is capable of causing Zillius to stutter. Even Inmos had second thoughts of helping Aikkop defeat Horus, Distortion also at one point hesitated to research deeper into Horus though he overcome it out of curiosity.
  • Master Tactician: Horus conquered several continents and kingdoms using his strategies, he even deceived SERVER and caused v0yx to be left unprotected from his influence. Horus is the mastermind behind the Void Screamers and the Spirits of Hormlash, he ordered the Void Screamers to frame v0yx and make it look as if v0yx trashed a carrot farm that belonged to Stonehattan thus causing v0yx to be in debt with said faction. Horus also has a backup plan should the main one fail, as shown when Aikkop and Inmos restrained him to his skull and despite that he was still capable of tormenting v0yx in his mind.
  • Multilingualism: Horus is well-capable of speaking English, Spanish and Arabic. He can also speak a demonic language used by spirits.
  • Leadership Skills: Horus’ charisma and intellect increase his capabilities as a leader, he was able to become a strategic and ruthless tyrant who was capable of toppling dozens of kingdoms that have ruled longer than his.

Weaknesses[]

  • Elemental Swords: The cause of Horus' death, the Elemental Swords consist of eight different swords that embody elements of nature (Dark Sword, Light Sword, Fire Sword, Water Sword, Earth Sword, Ice Sword, Air Sword and Lightning Sword). Each sword alone proved to be capable of harming Horus, even as a spirit, but when combined the swords proved to be more than capable of destroying Horus' living body and weakening him as a spirit.
  • Arius: Arius is the Embodiment of Death in the Lightning SMP Universe. An enigmatic and primordial entity who reigns over Limbo, Arius is the only entity Horus is truly afraid of. Arius intends on finding and taking Horus to Limbo where the latter can be punished for his unholy deeds such as bringing back the dead. In terms of power, Arius outclasses Horus and SERVER and is perhaps the most powerful entity in the Lightning SMP Universe, however Arius is unable to directly see where Horus is and thus cannot find him as of now.
  • Exorcist Magic: Due to Horus being a spirit, he is affected by exorcistic objects. The exorcist lanterns proved to be capable of keeping Horus in place and cancelling out his intangibility powers. Horus' telepathic abilities are still able to be used although to a somewhat weaker extent. One lantern gradually breaks every few weeks, thus the effects are temporary.
  • Indomitable Will: Despite Horus’ extreme mind powers, his effects only work on beings and entities that have moderate levels of willpower. Creatures such as the Smog Horrors are susceptible to Horus' corruption due to them not having strong enough willpower, with Horus physically touching them already forces them to do his bidding. Should a being have enough willpower, they are capable of halting Horus' corruption or in rare cases completely immune to them, humans that have trained their minds can be resistant to Horus' infection such as Aikkop and v0yx, though it takes exceptional strength to combat Horus' corruption and without losing their sanity in the process. Zillius mind is different than the likes of Aikkop or v0yx, and despite Zillius being capable of halting Horus' corruption, he is still vulnerable to sudden mood swings and unusual bloodlusts and is only safe from them when in the Nether or the End.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Osiris[]

My blood was from a wicked man, and that man made a wicked family. (sighs) Corruptive, selfish, hedonistic, and yet even in the face of death... He still thinks I'm the monster... That self-righteous hypocrite..
~ Horus commenting upon the negative traits of his father to himself.

Osiris was Horus' father. However, Osiris never regarded Horus as his own child, rather a disgusting mistake that he wished would look like himself. Osiris would constantly abuse Horus in many ways, even if he made a slight mistake or if Horus even dare so talk back to him, Osiris would physically abuse him. It is also stated that Osiris was disgusted of Horus' unusual traits since birth, such as his purple eyes and his darker skin tone. Growing up, Horus never got the same love nor treatment his brother got from Osiris, Osiris would play favorites, he would give Sobek all the love and spoil him while Horus gets nothing, this ultimately caused Horus to embrace the darkness and turned him into who he is now. Horus' hatred grew more and more from each passing day growing up in his home, eventually he had enough and ran away, intending to never look back. After Horus left, Osiris simply shrugged and continued on watching his kingdom grow and raising Sobek to become more like him.

When Horus returned with the intentions of killing his father, Osiris was fearful and dispatched his entire legion to attempt to destroy him. However, Horus proved far more powerful than Osiris expected, Osiris retreated into the most guarded room of his palace, but Horus easily broke in and almost killed his father. Osiris, with his final breath, remarked Horus was never his son, despite that, Horus coldly replied by stating Osiris was never his father and proceeded to drive a spear into Osiris, killing him.

Zillius[]

Horus: Hello there Zillius (chuckles). Oh, Inmos must've took care of you very well..

Zillius: W-What are you doing here?
Horus: That’s not important. (chuckles) May i ask, do you remember anything?
Zillius: I...I don't know.. Did I blacked out or something? Wait, this isn't real.. this is my dream, isn't it?!
Horus: Possibly... (grins sadistically) Til then, I’ll be around watching you.
Zillius: NO! GET OUT! I won't let you make me hurt anyone!
Horus: Oh don't worry.. I’m not gonna force you (the dream world glitches and crumbles) see you soon.. (cackles)

~ Horus, revealing his plans inside Zillius' mind.

Zillius is Horus' grand-nephew. It seems that Horus thinks very little of Zillius, even willing to endanger him to benefit himself. The former has no remorse entering his mind and mentally torturing him to try to make him hurt his friends. Zillius is apparently fearful of Horus, shivering when his name is mentioned, but he will stand his ground when confronted by his cruel grand-uncle. Horus deep down actually respects Zillius and considers him very alike, particularly due to them both being outcasted by the world and considered different by others.

Aurora[]

Aurora is Horus' adopted daughter. When Aurora first died, she was confused and scared at her new state, being unable to adapt to her undead state. Eventually, Horus found her and felt sorrow for her, he read her mind and felt more sorrow, so he decided to take her under his wing and becoming a father figure to her.

Allies[]

Void Screamers[]

He has an entire cult that serves him no matter what, like termites to their queen.
~ SERVER, about Horus and the Void Screamers.

The Void Screamers are a cult that originated from the End Dimension. They worship Horus and believe he is their lord and savior, they act as minions to the dark god and will serve him no matter what. They are extremely loyal towards Horus and one of them was appointed by Horus to being his messenger. The cult presumably has a rivalry against the Hormlashians, particularly because they believe the Hormlashians only worship Horus out of fear of him.

Dagon[]

My friend, I await your orders until the end of time.
~ A message from Dagon to Horus documented in Hormlash' scriptures.

Dagon is a fellow member of the Spirits of Hormlash. Despite their relationship mostly shrouded in mystery, Dagon is regarded as the closest to Horus and is his second-in-command, Horus and Dagon both have a common goal of cheating death and taking over the three dimensions (though Horus plans to do so due to seeing it as "imperfect"). The two have been close allies ever since Horus was alive.

Amun[]

Amun is another member of the Spirits of Hormlash. Being the most active and the only one besides Horus that will enter the area of the Lightning SMP, Amun is close allies to Horus though not as much as Dagon. Amun is quite vengeful to Horus' defeat in the hands of Inmos and Aikkop and was mentioned to be haunting Aikkop when she was spelunking in a ravine, moving rocks around and tricking Aikkop into getting lost in the ravine.

Nimue[]

Nimue is another member of the Spirits of Hormlash, Nimue is undoubtedly loyal towards Horus and agrees on his ideals to reshape the world. The two share the same charismatic and sophisticated personality, which explains why they are compatible with each other. Outside of work, they are good friends, Horus is often the third wheel whenever Dagon and Nimue have intimate moments, he could be seen in the background just watching the two lovebirds.

Comedy & Tragedy[]

TBA

Enemies[]

SERVER[]

I swear on my soul that I will rip apart (Horus begins grinning as his left eye twitches) that metallic imbecile until their nothing but a pile of scrap.
~ Horus, showing his hatred against SERVER for killing him.

SERVER is an enigmatic deity who killed Horus thousands of years ago using the Elemental Swords. The two are archenemies and both fantasize on destroying the other, Horus shows disgust if SERVER's name is mentioned and wishes to destroy the Lightning SMP as revenge against SERVER. SERVER wishes to contact Arius and tell the latter where Horus is but is unable to for some reason, SERVER restricts most members of the smp from going near Horus' burial. Horus berates SERVER whenever it's name is mentioned, calling it a "metallic imbecile".

Arius[]

Arius and Horus have a mysterious history together. Horus is afraid of Arius and goes as far as turning himself into a spirit just to get away from Arius. The series creator has joked that Arius and Horus were a couple and Horus cheated on Arius to become a powerful necromancer, the series creator has stated it may or may not be canon. Assuming the joke is canon, the reason Arius is vengeful against Horus is due to the latter cheating on Arius for something considered by Arius to be unholy, as of now it is unclear.

v0yx[]

v0yx initially was willing to accept Horus' deal, but he stopped himself due to not wanting to kill his friends. v0yx then mocked Horus for thinking the latter could convince v0yx to killing his friends, this prompted Horus' disdain towards v0yx. Horus then trapped v0yx in a storm while the latter was collecting resources before proceeding to cripple him with a bolt of lightning and sparing him to have him suffer more pain. Horus later caused v0yx’s life to become a living nightmare by continuously psychologically torturing him before finally ending him.

Aikkop[]

Aikkop: you’re… a… monster…

Horus: (giggles) Oh really? (in a playful tone)

~ Horus, torturing Aikkop.

Aikkop despises Horus for killing v0yx, she didn't hesitate to attempt to defeat the dark god and punish him for his actions. Horus views Aikkop as a small bug that can be flicked around as much as he wants, though Horus is aware the problem of what Aikkop can cause should she interfere in his plans and thus doesn't hold back when torturing Aikkop, believing that torturing her will make her go insane and prevent her from getting in his way. The two are complete opposites to one another, Aikkop almost always dresses in light pinkish outfits while Horus sports a dark-purple suit, Aikkop is incredibly honest albeit somewhat sarcastic while Horus is an expert manipulator, Aikkop is still living while Horus is now a spirit.

Others[]

Distortion[]

Distortion, despite Horus' reputation, is willing to research and investigate about Horus and those associated with him. Due to Distortion being a scientist, he cannot deny on researching about the dark god and Distortion seemingly doesn't care on the torment Horus caused to v0yx and instead wants to find out the extent of Horus' mind powers. Horus is well aware of Distortion actively researching him and used this to his advantage by whispering thoughts into Distortion's mind so the latter would research deeper and deeper so that he may fall into Horus' control.

Quotes[]

Taiga Arc[]

Well, Hello there..
~ Horus, talking to v0yx telepathically.
Horus: (Horus manifests in his default spirit form) Pleasure to meet you, child. The name's Horus, pardon me but I heard a lot about you and I just couldn't resist meeting such an interesting human...(sound of glitching is heard as Horus gets closer to v0yx) your name is v0yx, yes?
v0yx: Y-Yeah that's my name.. What are you?
Horus: I was once an entity with the power to stop wars and spread peace, I was respected among others. But something took that away.. for so long I tried to find a way to get it back, to be respected.. and then I found you. (smiles and points at v0yx) YOU can help me.
v0yx: I-I don't understand. I'm not someone special or anything, why would you need my help? I'm good for nothing..
Horus: I have been watching you and may I say I am impressed, yet your friends treat you worse than you truly deserve and I feel bad about that. How's about this; you help me achieve my goals and I will help you become respected among your friends, sounds fair?
v0yx: I don't know though..
Horus: Think about it, nobody deserves to be treated like how your friends treat you... you deserve better.
v0yx: (sigh) Alright, fine. What do you need me to do?
~ Horus making a deal with v0yx at Stonehattan.
Horus: (smiles creepily) Heard of the "Elemental Swords"? You need to collect them
v0yx: But.. my friends have them, how am I supposed to get them if I'm not their owners?
Horus: Slit your "friends" throats at night? Or just take it from them forcefully? Not that hard.
v0yx: WHAT?! (backs away from Horus) You want me to kill my friends?!
Horus: (approaches v0yx) Are they really your friends if they kick you around like a pile of dirt? Are they really your friends if they don't trust you or respect you? Last I remembered, friends are people who trust in each other, and tell me, do your "friends" do that?
v0yx: E-Even if they don't respect me, I'm not slitting their throat! I don't want to kill them!
Horus: (his voice starts to sound glitchy) Get the swords. Or you won't have the respect.. (a storm ensues)
v0yx: (holds his ground) NO! The deal's off! I will never betray my friends! (points at Horus) I don't care if I'm not respected by them, all I care about is keeping them safe. From anything that could harm them.
Horus: (gets closer to v0yx)
v0yx: Now get out of here and never set foot on this land ever again.
Horus: (stares at v0yx for a while before disappearing and stopping the storm)
~ Horus arguing with v0yx due to the latter refusing to kill his friends.
v0yx: (v0yx is gathering resources while a storm takes place) Huh, this storm feels different. Maybe I should go back home. (lightning strikes near v0yx) My god, that was close..
???: (a small whisper tells v0yx to look up)
v0yx: (looks up and sees a flash of light)
Horus: (cackles and manifests in his default spirit form) The itsy bitsy v0xy came up the hill of ice, down came the lightning that paralyzed his life, out came the sun that dried up all the blood, the itsy bitsy v0xy is now a lifeless crud! (chuckles and approaches v0yx's paralyzed body) Weak... You could've had it all. Yet, you chose to side with the selfish children you call "your friends". You have proven to me that your nothing but a small, pathetic individual. (sighs) See you soon… (smiles and teleports away)
~ Horus crippling v0yx by striking him with lightning and leaving him to suffer.
Horus: (Horus manifests on top of his skull) Well, Well... came here to be a hero I presume, Aikkop? Oh, and don't be shocked that I am aware of who you are, I know many things... (lights flicker and static is heard)
Aikkop: You’ve been terrorizing the SMP long enough, I’m done with that.
Horus: Well you must be very daft to come here alone... (smiles wickedly)
Aikkop: (grabs pickaxe and swings it at Horus' skull, the pickaxe hits yet not even a scratch was left on the skull) What?! That should've wo- How is that possible?!
Horus: (cackles) Child, you made a grave mistake touching that.. Did anyone tell you about manners? Tsk, tsk, tsk.. Naughty... (smiles sadistically)
Aikkop: No, no, no! That should've work!
Horus: (summons a blob of crying obsidian to restrain Aikkop) Now... what would suit your retribution? (gets close to Aikkop and grins)
~ Horus and Aikkop when the latter tried to break Horus' skull.
Horus: (snaps fingers) Oh, I know what! (smiles)
Aikkop: (the crying obsidian starts to feel sharper and tighter) What is this?!
Horus: Hurts, doesn't it? (chuckles) Glad it does. (disembodied screams start to fill the burial)
Aikkop: you’re… a… monster…
Horus: (giggles) Oh really? Weren't you the one who decided to- (a blue fireball hits Horus) Ackh!
Inmos: Did you really think she came alone? (blue fire envelops his hands)
~ Horus being confronted by Aikkop and Inmos.
Horus: (gets hit by a blue fireball and is fling to the wall) Haha! I love your persistence, Inmos!
Inmos: (charges at Horus) Ragh!
Horus: (dodges and transforms his right arm into a shadow tentacle before slamming Inmos with it) Mediocre, mate. Come on, You can do better than that! (giggles)
Inmos: (recovers and blasts the spirit with another fireball)
Horus: (rips out some of his face skin that is burnt and cackles) Bravo! Hahaha!
~ Horus battling Inmos.
Oh... Inmos!
~ Horus before throwing a withering spear at Inmos.
As they say, what doesn't kill you... (demonic voice) only makes you stronger! (cackles maniacally)
~ Horus during the end of the Taiga Arc after being restrained to his skull by Aikkop and Inmos.

Liberal Arc[]

(sighs) How reckless and simple-minded…
~ Horus referring to the Stonehattan and New Honduras.
Tsk, really? A war? My my, what a surprise. Let’s see how this war turns out.
~ Horus watching the Stonehattan-New Honduras feud.
Distortion actually proved to be useful, wonderful.
~ Horus watching Distortion through the eyes of a shade snake.
(Horus is standing in a black void with a projection of Zillius) Ironic that we share the same fate, you and I. That loneliness and the sorrow... Oof it's not pretty, but then again I am glad you didn't have to grow up in front of our family. Our blood... my blood was from a wicked man, you see, and that man made a wicked family. (sighs) Corruptive, selfish, hedonistic, and yet even in the face of death... He still thinks I'm the monster... That self-righteous hypocrite.. But I digress, you are a lucky one, Zillius...
~ Horus talking to a projection of Zillius to pass the time while being imprisoned in his own skull

Indigo Arc[]

Horus: (unintelligible whispering)
Aikkop: Who's there?! (the dream world starts to crumble)
Horus: (cackles and manifests) Good to see you, darling...
Aikkop: No, no, no, no! This isn't real! This is just a dream!
Horus: Oh darling, you don't even know what is real and what is not. (grins ear-to-ear)
Aikkop: (wakes up in her bed, panting) He's not gone... no, no, no...
~ Horus torturing Aikkop in her dreams.
Horus: Hello Zilly… (tilts head while smiling)
Zillius: H-Horus?
Horus: (chuckles) Surprise!
Zillius: Why are you here?!
Horus: Oh what's wrong, dear? Do you not like your true self? (grins sadistically as he motions to the bloodstains in the robes)
Zillius: No! Get out of my mind! Argh! (shakes his head)
Horus: Stop trying to avoid it, you had no remorse in killing dozens and you say we are different, you caused so much pain and suffering to all of your friends and you say I’m the monster.
Zillius: Argh! Sto- (a tendril of shadows wraps his mouth shut)
Horus: (gets face-to-face with Zillius) Let me ask you this once Zilly, am I really the monster in this story?
~ Horus torturing Zillius by reminding him of his past crimes.

Quotes related to Horus[]

And remember when the King in Purple burned down seven pantheons in seven nights?
~ A verse from Hormlash’s scriptures.
For when the rebel gods plead for mercy, Apophis laughed and spoke; “Indeed you have done nothing but worsen this sacred world, thus i cannot accept your feeble pleads.” Apophis opens his maw and rip the rebels apart limb from limb.
~ Another verse from the scriptures, this one calling Horus by his alias, Apophis.
As he stood on top of that hill, he spoke to the people: "O children of Sobek, open your eyes and realize the wrongdoings of the one who you shamelessly praise. His actions may not harm you nor your children, but what about the Nether people who he forced to build his throne upon their blood and bones? What about the Piglins who he persecuted to give their riches to him? What about the Cambions who had their homes destroyed by him?"
~ A scripture discovered by Distortion within the temple of Hormlash.
v0yx: So… what exactly is Horus?

Aikkop: I’m not sure… but I remember Zillius talking about him. He said that Horus is a sinister and diabolical dark entity, and such entity could cause massive chaos to enter this SMP.
v0yx: and I almost made a deal with him…
Aikkop: It’s not your fault, v0yx. I’m sorry that we mistreated you.

~ v0yx and Aikkop talking about Horus in "We’re Not Alone".

Trivia[]

  • Horus' name comes from the Egyptian God of sky of the same name. The series creator states that the Horus of the Lightning SMP serves as the exact opposite of the Egyptian God, being a dark parody to it.
  • Horus' character takes inspiration from various characters such as The Scarlet King, Nyarlathotep, Glitchtrap, Bill Cipher and The Devil.
  • Horus was initially supposed to be a Godzilla-like character that is long gone, until the series creator decided to make him the main antagonist of the entire SMP.
  • According to the series creator, Horus enjoys masquerade parties. Horus' affinity towards masquerade parties is a reference towards his habit of hiding his true self.
  • Horus is the fourth Fanon Near Pure Evil to be a Magnificent Baddie.
  • When asked what song would best suit Horus, the series creator said it would either be "Darkside" by Alan Walker or "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman.
  • It is highly speculated that Horus himself killed Zillius’ parents while he was a newborn, though the series creators haven’t confirmed it yet.
  • According to the series creator, Horus was one of the most difficult characters to write as the series creator wanted Horus to be unique compared to the other antagonists of the series.
    • Unlike the other antagonists of the SMP, Horus is far more personal to the main characters, especially to Aikkop and v0yx.
  • The finalized version of Horus takes many elements from several scrapped characters from early scripts:
    • Horus' mind powers and his connection to the color purple is similar to the scrapped antagonist known as The Pessimism, which was going to be a non-corporeal entity that grew in power from negative emotions and was originally going to be an overarching antagonist until it was scrapped from the series. In early scripts, The Pessimism was intended to play a role in aiding Horus by puppeteering a main character and forcing them to break the Exorcist Lanterns.
    • Horus being Zillius' grand-uncle and having connections with death was reused from a scrapped character called Yz'ogrogh, who was intended to be Zillius' supposed ancestor and master of death and decay. In fact, Yz'ogrogh was originally going to be Arius' love interest before that role was given to Horus.
    • In the original version of the Lightning SMP, Horus played a significantly smaller role compared to now. He wasn't even the main antagonist of the series, rather, it was Zillius who was the main villain. The original version of Zillius also possesses many similar traits to the finalized version of Horus; both being manipulative and charismatic villains, both having the ability to manipulate the shadows and create shadowy constructs, and both being spirits (Horus is already a spirit since his debut while the original version of Zillius was planned to be killed and be resurrected as a white ghost of his former self).
  • In the Temple of Hormlash, each mural has different depictions of Horus. One depicts him as a bat-like being while another depicts him as a giant serpent while another describes Horus as a six-eyed seven-tongued eldritch king. It is possible that the reason each depiction is different is that Horus can shapeshift into various forms when he was alive.
  • Horus is one of the few characters to break the fourth wall, as shown when he threateningly talks to the camera in the end scene of "It’s Not Over".
  • Horus appears in a short story called The Devil’s Pact where he makes a deal with a man named Alaric who lost his daughter and wants to get revenge on the ones who killed her.
