NOTE: This article is only on the Universe 1 version of Hunter. The Universe 2 version is not portrayed as a villain. |
Hunter is the main antagonist of MoringMark's Luzifer AU series based on the Disney fantasy cartoon The Owl House.
One a benevolent ruler of the Boiling Isles, he was betrayed by his former friend Luzifer, who attempted to kill him. Now filled with revenge, he sought to kill Luzifer by any means.
Personality[]
Hunter was once a very different person. He was a very kind and selfless individual, even defeating his adoptive uncle when he found out his true colors. He was also very pacifistic and preferred to solve conflicts without directly fighting his enemies. This however, did not make him a good leader, as it left him unable to make decisions or give his subordinates criticisms. He could also get along with most people, as he formed a friendship with Luzifer despite her being a villain.
However, after Luzifer's betrayal, his personality began to change. He became motivated to defeats Luz and was willing to kill her. He's also dishonorable, as he pretended to have a Western-style draw with Luzifer before simply trying to shoot her while she was distracted. Despite this, he still kept his old personality underneath despite trying to hide it, as he was truly sorry that he killed Amity.
History[]
Presumably, Hunter was created by Emperor Belos like in the main timeline, although the details are unclear. At some point after Luzifer arrived in the Boiling Isles, he teamed up with the human and discovered that Belos was working with the infamous organization known as Peta. Using the portal key, he trapped Belos in the Human Realm, leaving him as the new ruler of the Boiling Isles. Later on, now being friends with Luzifer, he tried to help her trick Amity Blight into breaking up with her by giving her a make-over that made her look less evil.
Hunter met up with Luzifer again, this time showing her a prophecy. The prophecy stated that Hunter would eventually kill Luzifer in battle, something neither of them were pleased with. Hunter wanted to resolve the conflict peacefully, though Luzifer did not. Thus, she threw Hunter into a deep pit to kill him. Hunter survived, however, and he was now armed with a palisman named Flapjack and a hatred of Luzifer. He also found a particular mirror that connected him to the Collector and apparently befriended the latter.
He soon acquired a gun from Darius Deamonne and attempted to shoot Luzifer, though he could not aim due to his mission glasses, and he shot Amity instead. He then fled from the scene before Luzifer could harm him, regretting what happened to Amity.
Not long after, Hunter talked with the Collector about his situation, and they promised Hunter that they could defeat Luzifer for him.

Trivia[]
- Like most of the characters in the AU, Hunter’s arc is a foil to his canon counterpart’s. The canon Hunter started as an insecure teen who longed for Belos’ approval and hided his insecurities behind an arrogant persona, later becoming more open with the other characters after befriending them. This Hunter instead started off as an extroverted and dorky guy who tries to get along with everyone indistinctively, adopting an arrogant persona later after Luz betrayed him.
- His origins in the AU are ambiguous, as while he may still be a Grimwalker it’s not confirmed whether he indeed is or if this version is a biological relative of Belos.
