Hypno Steve, formerly known as the Red Leader and the Red Apprentice, is a major character in the Steve Cinematic Universe.
He serves as a major character in Rainbow Quest, serving as an unseen character in Seasons 1 - 3, a recurring character in Seasons 4 & 5, a mentioned character in Season 6, and an anti-villain-turned-anti-heroic tritagonist in Season 7.
He also serves as both a supporting character (As the Red Apprentice) and cameo character (As Hypno Steve). He serves as both a minor character (As the Red Apprentice) and a recurring cameo character (As Hypno Steve) in Season 1, and a supporting character (As the Red Apprentice) and a recurring cameo character (As Hypno Steve) in Season 2.
He was once the apprentice of the Red King who was chosen only before the king's first choice, Colle, rejected the position. After the Red King turned himself into the Red Crystal in order to help create the First Hero, he was forced into becoming the next leader of the Red Steves. After years of being the leader of the isolated Red Steves, he ended up becoming Hypno Steve due to the damage caused by Elemental, and Professor Red injecting him with a sample of Sabre's blood out of desperation. This ended up turning him into an insane person who could see the future and would go after Sabre until The First Curse came along, which would have Hypno team up with Sabre to save the universe.
