| “ | Balance is all. | „ |
| ~ Imperial's motto |
| “ | To restore balance?.. Such a petty thing. As if I really wanted balance to dimensions. I only wanted to recruit that monster so I can finally watch the others suffer. Do I have my own standards after seeing the things he has done? Well, yes. I was... Quite disgusted. But the thing is; this was all just a facade. You've all been played. Now, get back to work! | „ |
| ~ Imperial revealing his true colours, while showing some disgust in Otoru's actions |
Imperial is a minor antagonist in Multiversal Legends, as well as the secondary antagonist of it's non-canon movie; Multiversal Legends: Dimension Striders. He is the leader of the Dimension Striders, who at first seemed like an anti-villainous extremist, but in actuality; he's nothing more than a selfish person with little care for anyone.
History[]
Origins[]
Imperial's introduction.
Born in Generatious, Imperial was obsessed with the idea of manipulation to the point that he would create his own clan at the age of 60, which is, what we call today as; the Dimension Striders. His headquarters was a reality-bent garden he created himself, where family sacrifices were made throughout to satisfy his needs. At times, even infants are given to him as a term of "all family members" as well.
In Dimension Striders[]
Imperial enjoying a feast.
In the film, it was revealed that after making a deal to Imperial, he would force them to slavery every day without a break. His members seem to be under the influence/brainwashed by/of him, as they don't seem to mind. The only person that wasn't even under the influence was Otoru, however. It is unknown why he wasn't under the influence, especially refusing to speak to Imperial about what happened to the dimension he corrupted.
During his abuse of Bopsti, he severely injured him to the brink of death at one point. Instead of simply leaving this, however; he only apologizes to him once. After that, he decides to take him to the medbay. However, he decides to do this again to both Bopsti and the other Dimension Striders (apart from Otoru, whom he had slight honor for) for seemingly no reason. During the 25:28 minute mark of the film; it was revealed that he never wanted to restore balance at all, and that he simply wanted to watch the suffering of the people in different dimensions, all while saying that he was mildly afraid of Otoru's acts.
Imperial's death at the hands of Otoru
He then begins to abuse every single member of the Dimension Striders both emotionally and physically, along with slight respect for Otoru. And during Otoru's ambush on him, Imperial was stabbed in the chest and left to die. His corpse seemingly disappeared during the post-credits scenes.
Appearance[]
Imperial seems to have the head representing that of the terraria boss, Plantera. He has a dark green body with ribs, red eyes with lighter red pupils, a zig-zag mouth and dragonfly wings, representing a chimeric appearance.
Personality[]
Imperial, at first, seems to act like an anti-villain/extremist. But it was later revealed that he was none of that; and that he was just a selfish, homicidal monster with little to not respect for anyone (apart from slight respect for Otoru). He holds no care for his fellow members at all too.
Despite his fulltime-negative traits; he did feel slight remorse for nearly killing Bopsti, even taking him to the medical ward. However, that remorse was simply practical, as he went on to abusing Bopsti again. He also seems to have some standards, as heard when he mentioned that he was slightly afraid of Otoru's actions.
Abilities[]
While not as many abilities as Otoru, he still does possess some powers, which include:
- Chlorokinesis: One of the most infamous examples of Imperial's powers were Plant Manipulation, which he used to create an entire garden where he would "host" his Dimension Striders clan.
- Essokinesis: Imperial managed to warp his garden right after creating it. This included a waiting line, portals, and his office.
- Control over the Dimension Striders: Imperial possesses the power to make anybody (apart from Otoru, whom he couldn't do to) work for him forever. (Should not be confused with the Hive Mind ability.)
- Intimidation: Imperial has an unique ability to intimidate/threaten anyone near him, should they dare disobey him.
Quotes[]
| “ | I... Otoru, what are you doing with that? | „ |
| ~ Imperial questioning Otoru |
| “ | You are a good man, maybe even a warrior, Otoru. | „ |
| ~ Imperial's slightly honorable side |
| “ | Bospti, I have told you before; if you go out there, it isn't gonna be my problem. You'll just end up like the rest of them out there. Constantly being torn to bits by Otoru as his destruction continues. Now that's a torture I'd put you through. Do we have a new understanding?.. Good. Do your job, and you'll be spared | „ |
| ~ Imperial threatening Bopsti with Otoru's torture if he doesn't do his job correctly |
| “ | Heh... You figured it out too?... Good job!.. | „ |
| ~ Imperial's last words |
Trivia[]
- Despite being the secondary antagonist, he did leave most of the impact on the characters' lives, seeing as how all of them, apart from Otoru, suffered extreme abuse, brainwashing and familycide/infantcide.
- His design was inspired by Plantera.
