Infinite is a supporting antagonist in the DEATH BATTLE episode, "Bowser VS Eggman". He is one of Dr. Eggman's many minions and one of his three most prominent ones, alongside Metal Sonic and Sage.

He was voiced by Liam O'Brien via reused voice clips from Sonic Forces.

Personality

Due to Infinite's limited screen time, his personality is not very known. It is clear that he shares his confidence in his abilities and his belief in his own strength with his original video game counterpart.

History

Bowser VS Eggman

Infinite is summoned by Eggman early in the fight, being the first major minion the doctor summons. Infinite makes quick waste to Bowser's minions, using the Phantom Ruby the increase the gravity of the area, killing a Buzzy Beetle, three Goombas, a Bob-omb, Koopa General, Goomboss, and King Bob-omb. As Bowser uses his magic to save his troops, King Boo is immune to the gravity and summons a Thwomp on top of Infinite to crush him with the increased gravity, releasing the Phantom Ruby.

Infinite is not seen throughout the rest of the fight, being confirmed to have been left in a catatonic state from the Thwomp.

Trivia

• Infinite's portrayal in the fight where he appears powerful and threatening before quickly getting eliminated by a Thwomp, a rather mundane enemy, has quickly become a meme within the Death Battle community, with most fans jokingly claiming it's accurate to how Infinite is like in the main Sonic games and ridiculing how easily he was taken out.
  • Despite that, however, he was able to be of decent use, as he not only took out a handful of Bowser's henchmen, but he even forced Bowser into using his magical abilities, were as in the beginning of the battle he was only using his physical prowess.
• According to the fight's animator, MORØ, Infinite didn't truly die, he's just lying there questioning his existence after getting crushed.
• Infinite is one of the fastest-defeated combatants in Death Battle history, only lasting 17 seconds and being on-screen for a total of six seconds before being taken out.
• Infinite is the only minion of the Eggman Empire to not be a robot or A.I.
• Some people believe there might have been an alternate ending where Infinite faked his death by using a copy/fake version of himself that was taken out by King Boo, and Infinite was only hiding in the shadows until the end, where it seems like Bowser won and celebrate his victory, only for Infinite to appear (Along with Eggman, Metal Sonic and Sage) and take down most of the Koopa Troop and Eggman would deliver the finishing blow to Bowser and claim his victory. That said, as interesting as that sounds, it was ultimately not revealed by the creators if that was a real possible, and some video's about it are ultimately non-canon to the series in general.
