Iron-maiden

Iron-Maiden is a member of the Dark Ones and the embodiment of physical pain - she and Misery are sometimes confused but the two are very different as Misery embodies emotional distress rather than actual physical torment.

Iron-Maiden is at least as old as life itself and much like Misery views herself as being among the most powerful of the Dark Ones - which has caused some conflict between the two on rare occasions, in general though the two work in harmony with one another as they are similar aspects.

Iron-Maiden is sadistic and vicious with a talent for torture, indeed it was her who taught most forms of physical punishment to the world (sometimes Misery aided - together it can be argued the two invented the art of torture and passed it onto the young mortal races).

Iron-Maiden is, however, also a being of necessity - without physical pain mortal life can not function as pain warns them of danger and reminds them of limitations: a classic example being that although the burning pain of hot coals is distressing it is necessary to avoid further harm if one was simply to hold onto it for prolonged periods of time.

For this reason Iron-Maiden is classed as a neutral-being despite her seemingly malevolent behavior - her neutrality can be further seen in the way she handles her "son" Blight, whom she showers with affection and encouragement in stark contrast to her usual sadism.

History[]

Iron-Maiden rules over her own domain but is most often found in and around the Pain Forge, a great and powerful construct that is fueled by mystical flames capable of creating tools of torture at her command as well as creating the metal known as Dolorite via a process of continually melting down tools of torture coated in the tears and sweat of those inflicted with Iron-Maiden's "touch".

Powers/Abilities[]

As the embodiment of physical pain Iron-Maiden has displayed the following abilities:

  • Dimensional-Control
  • Manifestation
  • Incarnation
  • Possession
  • Illusion Casting
  • Power Bestowal / Removal
  • Omnipresence
  • Omniscience
  • Time-Alteration
  • Shape-Shifting
  • Pain-Inducement (Iron-Maiden induces physical pain, she can do this across vast distances and to numerous targets - it is also her job to induce such pain when someone harms oneself: making her an extremely active and powerful entity)
