Friend: Okay, you know Thanos is going to kill half the people in the universe, right?
Tony: Okay so, i snappy snap: guaranteed death. He snappy snaps: 50% chance of dying. Sorry, what was your argument again?
~ Tony after giving the Infinity Gauntlet back to Thanos.

The unnamed superhero (Heavily implied to be Iron Man/Tony Stark) is the main protagonist of the YouTube skit When you're a superhero but don't want to die by Zach Star Himself.

Like the original Tony Stark, he is a superhero who wanted to defeat Thanos, but after learning the consequences of using the Infinity Gauntlet, he abandons his original goal in order to survive.

Biography[]

Thanos was ready to snap his fingers in order to complete his goal of killing half of all life in the universe, until his Infinity Gauntlet was stolen by Tony Stark. Tony wanted to use it to defeat Thanos and his allies, but was unsure of it, wondering how it works and how the object knows how to kill. His friend encourages him, saying it's magic and he's pretty sure it'll work, which only boethered Tony even more.

Either way Tony was ready to use it, until he was reminded that using the gauntlet results in the user's death. His friend tells him that they discussed this already on his house, with Tony claiming he thought it was a joke. His friend tried encouraging him, saying that sacrificing himself to save countless lives was the responsible thing to do. Tony's response was saying he'll use the gauntlet if his friend commits suicide, that way both would "die for the greater good".

His friend disagreed, saying that Tony was fairly selected to sacrifice himself via drawing straws. After trying for a while, Tony successfully removed the gauntlet from his arm and gave it to Thanos. His friend facepalmed, asking why he would give it to a genocidal maniac. Tony claimed that he would rather risk a 50% chance of dying from Thanos' snap than have a guaranteed death from using the gauntlet himself.

Thanos then snaps his fingers, causing half of everyone in the universe to perish. Tony survives and laughs in joy while watching his friend turn to dust.

Quotes[]
