Smile All Might, this is just the beginning
~ Deku reunites with All Might in the USJ

Izuku Midoriya, codenamed Deku is the main protagonist of the fan made comic My Villain Gang, based on the popular anime/manga series My Hero Academia

Unlike his canon counterpart, he is never given One For All by All Might and through a series of struggles as he’s slowly bogged down by civilization and shamed as a person, he is ultimately recruited by All For One to become a villain and destroy the society that robbed of his dignity. He is the leader of Team Terror, a group formed by people who were similarly rejected by Hero Society and are willing to help Deku in his goals.

Biography[]

Izuku shares the same life as his canon counterpart up until the story’s beginning, where after he heroically ran out to save his bully Bakugou from the Slime Villain, he was chased down by All Might, who instead of congratulating him, insulted him and his actions, destroying his moral and shaming him for what he did, claiming that he will never become a hero.

Afterwards, despite having his dream of being a hero annihilated, he chose to apply for multiple schools in several other professions such as police officers, hero innovation, engineering and technology. However due to unknown circumstances, he was rejected from all of the schools he applied to and continued to be bullied by everybody.

A few days later, while having dinner with his mother, they saw a news report regarding Izuku’s act to to save Bakugou while the heroes stood idle. In the news report, Mizudaira Mineru, the minister of hero law enforcement’s representative, talked about how Izuku did nothing heroic and was instead an obstacle for the heroes, falsely claiming that the heroes had everything under control and that reinforcements where on their way, stupidly blaming Izuku for the damage and causing more of it, remarking the deed as useless, having the heroes on scene talk about their opinions. Izuku was deemed an obsessed fanatic whose idiotic, irresponsible act affected others, declaring that he’s not suitable as a hero or any similar job. This caused Izuku’s endeavors to become basically impossible, being repeatedly mocked and having his home vandalized, which also affected his mother’s mental health.

Later, Izuku stood in the roof of a building to end it all, angrily shouting out if he was at fault for the way he was born, before being approached by a man (All For One), the two then shared their views on how their society is corrupt and filled with shameless hypocrites pretending to be samaritans, with Izuku expressing his hate, causing the now revealed All For One to recruit him and stop his suicide attempt.

Following this, Izuku became AFO's student, with the latter teaching him how to fight. However AFO was disappointed by Izuku's refusal to kill.

Eventually, Izuku's mother was approached by Mizudaira Mineru for her and Izuku to participate in an experiment to transfer her quirk to her son under the guise of wanting to make amends for ruining Izuku's life. Mrs. Midoriya agreed, but the experiment was a failure which resulted in her dying. To which, Mizudaira issued an accident where a fire occurred that damaged Izuku's body and killed his mother. Mizudaira Mineru then had the rest of their home burnt down to cover their experiment and Izuku was declared officially dead. However, Izuku survived while AFO and the doctor (allegedly) tried to save his mother but failed. This finally broke Izuku who became disillusioned with societal hypocrisy and solidified his desire to bring it down by any means necessary. Izuku was outfitted with a device to keep him from sleeping (as to not relive the memory of seeing his mother die before him) and was given a number of quirks by AFO. Among these quirks was Absorb For Occupancy (A.F.O.) a derivative of the meta ability belonging to the villain king which acted as a living energy matter that could parasitically replicate and give him his victims quirks.

A while later, during the U.S.J. Attack, as All Might tries to get Shigaraki to leave, a renewed Izuku enters using new quirks, asking Kurogiri to take Shigaraki while he stalls the faux heroes, taking on Ectoplasm and Midnight easily right as he tells All Might to smile, with All Might recognizing him. After the fight, Deku returns to the bar and is assigned under Shigaraki.

Deku would attend the Sports Festival while disguised as a reporter to look for potential recruits, where he took an interest in Gen Ed student Hitoshi Shinso.

He would later be sent to recruit Stain to join the League of Villains. During this time, he saved Kota from Muscular and recruited him as his sidekick & protégé, transforming him into his first Nomu-hybrid. He was also indirectly responsible for Tenya Ida loosing his leg when his calf-engine burst from static agitation in the air (which Deku generated). Though he was unable to keep Stain from being sent to Tartarus, as the Hero Killer deemed him his successor and insisted that he would need to carry out his work for him.

He would then go on to recruit more like minded individuals to join Shigaraki, including: Twice, Toga, Dabi, Mustard, Magne, Compress, and Spinner. He joined them and Shigaraki, along with Kota, during their next attack on U.A.'s students. He worked with Mustard, giving him a device to use with his powers to keep his weaknesses from being exposed (saving him from being arrested) and worked with Magne to subdue the hero teachers to keep them from interfering with their mission. He also put Kota in charge of using his enhanced water gun power as a Nomu to accumulate Mustards gas into a rain attack which subdued all the students. Thus, the League of Villains was successfully able to capture more than twenty hero students, most of which Deku would turn into Nomu's. During this, he was seen by his old bully, Katsuki Bakugo, who was shocked that he was both alive and a villain now. Afterward, Izuku began looking for more individuals to join his burgeoning project "Team Terror".

Deku later has Kurogiri bring him Gentle Criminal, La Brava, and Hitoshi Shinso to recruit them to join Team Terror. However, Hitoshi rejects him at first, but Deku lets him go. Shortly after, Hitoshi and Kurogiri are ambushed by low ranking heroes who work for the HPSC. After they try to kill Hitoshi for rejecting their offer to work with them, Deku saves him, which prompts Hitoshi to join Deku as “Acoustic”.

Sometime later, he also recruited two other children who also became disenfranchised with societies heroes: Katsuma and Mahoro Shimano, making them Nomu hybrids as well.

Trivia[]

  • Izuku’s opening is the exact opposite of the canon one, where All Might says that he can be a hero, as opposed to this one, where he says Toshinori hypocritically says he can’t and discourages his dreams.
  • Despite never getting OFA, he still gets a number of quirks from All For One.
  • A tie-in-comic reveals that, a couple years in the past, he met Star And Stripe (who was visiting Japan for an All Might festival) and bonded with her and Sir Nice Eye (Sir Nighteye's counterpart) over their shared love of All Might. After which she encouraged his desire to become a hero. But they would end up clashing when Deku abducted Melissa Shield.
