Jack Nyras, better known as Eyeless Jack, is the titular character in the upcoming Al Timotheus creepypasta horror film Nyras. A new incarnation of the character from the famous creepypasta of the same name, this version of Jack explores his background, from his childhood to the beginnings of his murderous crusade.
Background[]
John James "Jack" Nyras was born in Alberta, Canada in 1993 to well-known surgeon Dr. James "Jim" Nyras and his wife, Emily, a mental health official in psychology and psychiatry. His grandfather (and Jim's father) is Howard Nyras, a notable American-born healthcare professional and decorated military officer in both the United States and Canadian Armed Forces who served in Korea and Vietnam, and he was even a respected member of the Royal Canadian Medical Service from the 1970s until his retirement. Jim finds his son's presence to be peculiar and starts to look into studies on the supernatural and paranormal in hopes of finding explanations for the oddities. When he discovers the legend of a cryptic entity whose existence seems to share similarities with the circumstances of his son's birth, Jim vows to find this creature to capture for experimental research.
As the years pass, Jack has a fairly normal childhood growing up. In school, he expresses interest in medicine and partakes in health-related extracurriculars. In 2010, at the age of 17 and nearing completion of high school, Jack starts to get more and more serious about his aspirations to become a doctor, just like his father. He even starts to consider joining the military, particularly the RCMS, inspired by the career and stories of his grandfather. However, Jack's life is turned completely upside down when Jim, who had recently been given the highest promotion of his career, gets into a horrific car crash on his way to attend one of Jack's school health charity events, and apparently dies as a result.
Personality[]
For most of his childhood, Jack's personality was fairly neutral, in which he was not over-the-top enthusiastic, nor was he downright dull and gloomy. After his father appears to die in the "accident," his character darkens. Jack feels that a part of him is glad that his father is seemingly dead, because, despite their good relationship, he often felt uncomfortable about him for reasons he initially couldn't explain.

Trivia[]
- Since Jack is mostly presented as being 19 years old and given that the original story was written in 2012, this version of the character is written as being born in 1993, which is likely the official birth year of the original incarnation of the character. This would make him around 32 years old in the present day (as of 2025).
