Jack Thompson, more known as The Beast, is the main antagonist of the analog horror series Sonic.ARR created by Unifer.
He was a rogue SEGA employee who created a concept design for the original Sonic the Hedgehog, but it didnt get accepted, leading him to go berserk and create viruses that he could insert into the game, so he could seek revenge for SEGA. He went so insane that he turned into a literal monster that looks similar to Sonic the Hedgehog and also ARR (the main focused character of the series.)
He was voiced by Unifer, the creator of the series.
Appearance[]
Judging by only looking at his human portrait, he has blonde, short hair, brown eyes, brown eyebrows, a brown shirt with a rounded collar. The portrait is in black in white.
When he is The Beast, he receives a major change, he turns into a tall, lanky monster that resembles Sonic the Hedgehog but with a multitude of changes, he has a massive hole at where his eyes would normally be, except the hole displays a big, cyclops eye with a slim, black pupil, he has spikes at the back of his head like Sonic, except the spikes are spread out like a flower and are noticeably longer, the spines on his back and reduced to two spines and are larger, he has no visible tail unlike the original Sonic, his fur is more darker, his arms extend all the way down to his feet, he has big, sharp claws, he has two rows of multiple sharp teeth, a pointier, black nose and his shoes and gloves have rips and tears. According to the official Sonic.ARR wiki, he is around 45 feet tall.
In "Separate Moments", he appears the same, except he has the skin and fur of his right leg missing, his eyes are showing his veins, his spikes are more ripped up and he has blood on his teeth (details are more noticeable in unedited version.)

As a human, he seemed very selfish and only cared about himself other than the rest, like his daughter, ARR or his son, TOWME. He also had fantasies of everyone in SEGA Corp. dying. He has been driven to insanity, to the point where he hides cassette tapes in his bedroom about his crimes that he has committed at the time. He absolutely doesn't care if anyone dies, he doesn't care about his 'daughter' and her mental health, as he coerces her into killing people. The only people we don't know how he treats them is The One With Many Eyes and Iptamai/The Hanging Virus.
When he's The Beast, he loses all humanity inside of him and is only hungry for humans. He is way angrier and more vicious then when he was human. He coerces his daughter even more, since he is just a hungry monster. He forces his daughter into feeding him, so he could grow and get more stronger quicker.

He appears at the last few seconds of the video, just his human portrait before it transitions into an image of ARR.

He isn't seen, but is mentioned at the end by ARR, with her saying 'father'. 'Father' in this scenario, is Jack, but we, the viewer, don't know that at this point.

He appears at the end of the video, alongside ARR. She questions "who was that", before Jack orders her to keep following Lucas. ARR follows the instructions and says "understood".
Tapes.mov[]
Jack starts off his recording, stating "There's always been one thing, I've been worried about.", which will later be his famous line, as it will be used in you are nothing and was going to be used in Separate Moments as a reference, before being scrapped. Right after, he says "It's about, if I was right or wrong." He is referring to killing thousands of people. He then rambles on that he is 'getting all of his fame back' which means him turning into The Beast and getting all the attention after being a total nobody. "I heard that I, killed a lot of people." He means this as a prediction about him in the future that was actually right. He states that he is 'a god in this world' although he doesn't mean this, he could turn out to be one later in the series, this could also mean the power he has over everyone and his viruses. He then intimidates the person watching by saying they should run and that he is hungry, this shows his cannibalistic/Beast side. "I have been longing this for ages, for all humanity to die." He has apparently been planning all of this after his design for the Sonic character didn't get accepted. He says Lucas, our protagonist's name, as he knows he is watching the tape. He goes on about how he knows where Lucas lives, hides and even thinks, right before getting closer, before his face distorts into a creepy smile with black eyes. Jack's face also distorts slowly throughout the video.
transformation[]
We are greeted by an unknown protagonist, they first state that Jack was acting weird after the character presentation about Sonic's design. The unknown character recorded him speaking once after the presentation after hearing him rambling on about being 'above all', the recording plays, it says "I will eventually be above all, of anyone. Anyone, in this stupid fucking building. Anyone. Anyone who denies me, will die". After the recording plays, the main protagonist of the episode states that there was a meeting, although when the meeting finished, Jack didn't return to his work office, he instead went into the backroom and locked it before the unnamed protagonist could get in after him. The unknown protagonist states that he was 'yelling words like a maniacal witch'. Jack then set off some alarms in the room, even though there weren't any in there in the first place. Then Jack started to laugh maniacally, then Jack started screaming with bones breaking in the background, his screams slowly getting deeper and louder, then suddenly, we hear the infamous roar sound from The Beast, Jack transformed into The Beast, and he is now hungry.
Midnight Drive.mov[]
The Beast was heard roaring in the middle of the night near a highway, which was captured on dashcam footage.
Police Investigation.mov[]
He appears in the forest and kills two officers and severely injures one, who coincidentally was Lucas Doffert, the main protagonist of the series.

The Beast was held inside of a contamination room that had Green Hill Zone plastered across the walls, The Beast was banging on all of the walls, before being stopped by a person, right before The Beast started roaring loudly, then suddenly he was hurt by the SEGA Torture Device, leading to him crying out in pain, right before breaking down the vibranium door that was keeping him contained. The Beast then started to roar loudly, destroying the entire building and setting everything ablaze, including the people inside it. The Beast survives the destruction of the building and mauled four firefighters to death.
you are nothing[]
The Beast is presented on screen, with him just staring at the camera ominously with a creepy smile, alongside some sounds coming from The Beast that sound like a crocodile. Then we get to see a very quick sneak peek of the very next episode before it cuts off to a jumpscare of The Beast, with a loud sound that sounds like a slowed down version of someone yelling 'give me food'. Then we get to see the start of Tapes.mov, before it slowly darkens, with Jack telling ARR that she is nothing and that she should only give him humans to eat.
ARR Interview[]
Despite not being in the episode physically, we got more information on Jack, we learn that he is able to bring viruses into the real world with a computer, but it could be more than a computer.
Final Woe[]
The Beast was getting hunted by The Military, before he killed all of them by unknown reasons. Then we go onto Act 3, where we see The One With Many Eyes, we learn during the interview that Jack can make multiple sentient viruses that treat each other like family, we also learn that only Jack makes them, and nobody tags along. We soon learn that if The Beast lives for longer, he will grow, get stronger and hungrier to the point where he eats the Earth. Later in the video, Lucas arms himself with fireworks to potentially kill The Beast, the fireworks sure did kill him, but only for now. At the end of the video, Jack is shown to be bathed in a red hue as he monologues about Lucas, then he starts to talk about how he couldn't fill the emptiness of his heart, before he starts to sing 'Daisybell'.

We get a look at The Beast corpse after his death in Final Woe, right after, we see Jack, but red again, but also noticeably angry. He talks about how Lucas' death is forever while his own is short lasted. Then right after, we get a really loud The Beast roar with multiple flashing images of frames from previous episodes with...Unifer, the creator of the series, at the end.
Separate Moments[]
At the first 7 minutes, there is an interview with Jack and 'Anthony Drew', the interview started out just normal until things took a turn and Jack had a mental breakdown, which lead to Jack ripping off Anthony's jaw and ARR decapitating him, killing him. Obviously, ARR was coerced to do it, since she is too kind to decapitate someone. In the 3rd Act, there is a presentation of an instruction on how to harm and kill The Beast, but at the near end of it, The Beast appears, except badly damaged, but he looked fine and was still having that grim smile.
I have a confession.[]
In the second scene, we get a current status on The Beast. He is in fact still living and has now destroyed an entire city, which we see later in the video, where we see footage of a city blowing up, creating a mushroom cloud and also hearing The Beast's roar along with it. In the final scenario of the video, we have a look at a tape that Jack made as a human, which explains a lot more than Tapes.mov. He explains that him and Naoto Ohshima, the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog were best friends, until the creation of the tape, but later states that he will not explain to Naoto that he's not friends with him, because it will 'ruin the surprise'. Jack later explains that there is a backroom area in SEGA Corp. which you are not able to enter, which is because Jack was 'doing something sinister' in the room without anyone knowing. Jack rambles on about him having a great future, where people look up to him as charismatic and as a leader, but later states it's quite hard to do so, if you were him though, it will be easy, since he later explains he has a genius brain that lets him do pretty much anything. Jack rambles on about him hiding tapes around his room, but one day, someone took a tape, which was "Tapes.mov". He also knows or at least, has a suspicion that it is a certain idiot, aka Lucas Doffert, our protagonist. Jack says he is at his breaking point and now wants to 'let out his secrets' before laughing maniacally, his face stretching into a large smile, before the video ends.
The Beast Interview[]
Apparently, in the interview, we learn that The Beast can speak, kind of. Jack goes on about him hurting, being angry and having a needle injected into him before. Our interviewer goes on about Jack's relationship with ARR currently, Jack responds with that he hates her. He starts roaring since he found out she was in the base he is currently residing in now, right before getting electrocuted. Jack responds a simple 'fuck you' before our interviewer gets shot or punched by Iptamai, the hanging virus. We learn later on that The Beast has been absent, which lead to NASA theorizing that The Beast could be in space, being bigger than before. We see three pictures of space, the last one was a picture of Earth, the same picture of Earth that has teeth behind it once brightened. The video later glitches out, with the words 'evacuate' still standing.
The Finale.[]
At the start of the video, we are introduced to Jack's father, Albert Thompson. Later in the video we see that Iptamai is siding with The Beast, leading to Iptamai shooting ARR. After being shot, ARR and Iptamai hear The Beast in it's planetary state moving. We later learn that Nintendo had a virus in their Mario game, stating that the virus may be made by Jack himself. We get another line of dialogue from Albert, saying that Jack should stop all of the madness. Once ARR gets sent to space, she finally encounters The Beast, just sitting in space, staring at her. ARR flips a lever in the spaceship and charges towards The Beast at top speed, killing The Beast, for real this time.
Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: Jack possesses a lot of strength, even as human, since he was able to rip off someone's jaw with a lot of ease. The Beast, however, has a lot more cases of Superhuman strength, as he was able to maul multiple people in a matter of seconds.
- Superhuman Speed: The Beast possesses speed that is able to catch up to cars, and the speed is not only in his running, but also with his attacking, as he is able to kill humans in just a matter of seconds.
- High Intelligence: He has a lot of intelligence, even as a monster like The Beast, he is still smart in the way he attacks, but Jack as a human is a lot smarter on a technical level, as he is able to create sentient viruses and make supercomputers in 1991. His brain is also what made him The Beast.
- High Durability: The Beast has massive durability, he is able to withstand bullets from guns, survive a building collapsing down on him and possibly surviving the destruction of Tokyo.
- Unlimited Growth: According to The One With Many Eyes, if he lives for longer, he will be able to grow larger and larger, until he is able to eat everything.
- Regeneration factor: The Beast has insane regeneration, even after death, to the point where your body is blown to bits, he still revived and came back to life, regaining his original form.
- Audiokinesis: The most notable thing about him, is his destructive roar, it can destroy buildings, blow up people, be heard from miles away and much more.
