Jackie Chu is a recurring character in the plush and puppet YouTube series, SuperMarioLogan. He is the teacher of Y U DUMB? Elementary School who teaches all five of the main course subjects. He speaks with a stereotypical Asian accent and pronounces Ls as Rs.
He is voiced by Lance Thirtyacre, who also voices a majority of other SML characters such as Jeffy, Black Yoshi, Shrek, Goodman and Doofy the Dragon.
Personality[]
Jackie Chu is generally angry, strict, mean, rude, condescending, arrogant and no-nonsense towards nearly anyone he interacts with, as shown when he often yells at them and calls them dumb. He is also one of the smartest characters to ever appear in the SML universe (though he is sometimes shown to be dumb).
Despite being angry and rude most of the time, Jackie Chu is sometimes nice and generous to others, as seen in Chef Pee Pee’s Birthday when he gave Chef Pee Pee a brand new chef outfit with his name sewn on it as a birthday present. In Bowser Junior’s Summer School 7, Chu was crying when the summer school session ended because he would miss teaching his class which shows that he actually cares about the students even if they are dumb.
He also seems to be a hypocrite since he scolds or insults other people for being dumb even though he can be dumb himself.
History[]
It is assumed Jackie Chu was born in China, although in SML Movie: Squid Game, he states that he is Korean. At some point in his life, he witnessed his beloved grandfather being killed by a fly.
Chu earned a PhD in calculus after graduating from college and married a woman named Kim. They had Siamese twin daughters named Ping and Pong, as well as a son named Jackie Twu. The family would eventually move to Northern Florida where Jackie applied a couple of jobs, including school teaching.
Villainous Acts[]
- In Bowser’s Chinese Food, he kills an innocent cat and then cooks it.
- In The Dog Show, he admits to cooking his dog and then brings it to the dog show.
Trivia[]
- Jackie Chu is portrayed by a prince puppet made by the brand, Sunny & Co Toys.
- He claims that he can’t see because of how slant his eyes. Despite this, however, Chu has good eyesight since he actually can see people. making it possible that he is only saying that to insult his slant eyes.
- Chu is most likely a parody of Tuong Lu Kim from South Park since both characters are Asian and they both mispronounce words.
- His name is an obvious reference to a Chinese actor and martial artist named Jackie Chan.
