She was voiced by Lydia the Bard.
Biography[]
Jasmine was born to the Sultan and his wife of the Arabian kingdom of Agrabah. Her mother died shortly after she was born. Jasmine grew up a rebellious and free-spirited girl, longing to escape the societal expectations of her, as well as the laws that she must marry a prince. One day, she snuck out of the palace to explore the streets of Agrabah. After a misunderstanding where she offers a child a stolen apple, she is rescued by a handsome peasant named Aladdin. Just as she is getting to know him, she is found by the palace guards and returned under the orders of the royal visor, Jafar.
Aladdin is arrested under the false pretense of kidnapping the princess, but Jafar instead uses him to try to reach the magic lamp hidden in a magic cave. This fails, and Aladdin is trapped in the cave with the lamp, leaving Jafer to return empty-handed. However, Aladdin uses the lamp and finds a genie within, using one of his three wishes to turn himself into a prince so he may woo and marry Jasmine.
Jasmine, meanwhile, is left enraged by Jafar's actions, as well as her father for continuing to enforce the unfair laws and policies. Behind her father's back, she reaches out to the people of Agrabah, who agree with her that the laws are unjust. Aladdin returns under the name Prince Ali, but Jasmine recognizes him and rejects him completely. She then stages a revolution, murdering Jafar and imprisoning her father. Riots break out on the streets of Agrabah, with the people burning and pillaging. Jasmine opts to usurp the kingdom and rule alone, reveling in the new, more dangerous and lawless Agrabah.
Personality[]
Jasmine is rebellious and petty, and blames her father the Sultan and Jafar for the unfair laws and expectations of her. She has a love of adventure and freedom, but often at the cost of having no restraint and restrictions. She believes herself to be strong and independent, turning away and rebuking any men that want to be in her life.

Trivia[]
- The artwork for Jasmine used in the video was made by krysdecker on Deviantart.
- She's arguably the least tragic of the series' protagonists, as instead of having an alternate scenario that caused her villainy like the others, she willingly created the alternate scenario out of free will.
