Jeff is the main antagonist of the hard mod Plants vs. Zombies: The Cursed from the original Plants vs. Zombies. He resembles a basic zombie with a mustache, a roadcone, a bucket, a screen door, and a ducky tube. He is also a meme created by the YouTuber Peridot Ciocirlan.
History[]
YouTuber Stefan25897's video Plants vs. Zombies Edited Files Gameplay Part 2 glitched a basic zombie with all accessories, originating Jeff. Peridot later used his design to serve as his mascot for a while.
Jeff was introduced as a replacement for both of the Dancing Zombie and the Backup Dancer. Both share the same dancing animations from the basic zombies dancing to the latter zombies' music. When the mod was remodeled to the Plants vs. Zombies 2 animations, his dance moves were similar to the basic Wild West zombies dancing to the Pianist Zombie's music.
Later, the Ducky Tube Zombie's design was changed to Jeff's, and there are not many differences about it.
The YouTuber PvZHD (or currently known as Azure Crystal) created a meme about Jeff with the original template "And I look like...".
When the mod was officially released, Jeff did not only took the role of the Ducky Tube Zombie, but also the Gargantuar, Giga-Gargantuar, and Dr. Zomboss themselves. And like Ducky Tube Zombie, his replacement does not change any of those zombie behaviors, except that as the Gargantuar and Giga-Gargantuar, Jeff dances while crushing a plant, and he pilots the Zombot instead of Dr. Zomboss. The Zombot was also redesigned with the head of Saness, and the fireball and iceball were replaced with Tom the Cat's heads, which refers to Saness's famous line "Wanna have a bad Tom?" by Sr Pelo.
After an update, Jeff now wears the ZCorp Zombie's outfit instead of his brown coat outfit.
The YouTuber Tuan Tran created a video about modding Jeff in the international version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, and Jeff has a flag instead of a screen door. He also gains extra toughness due to his bucket and road cone.
In the Discord Event Decorate the Fume-shroom, Peridot's submission included the titular plant dressed as Jeff.
The Digger Zombie got redesigned into Jeff The Cursed mod, as Jeff quickly dances to the left side of the lawn and appeared backward.
YouTuber Stefan25897 made a parody video about the anime Akira, as he edited the main character into Jeff. His Ultimate Edition mod also features a Jeff variant named Bob, and he appeared as the flag for the Flag Zombie.
