Jeremy Philips is the main antagonist of the 2022 Pixar based fanmade film Toy Story.

He is a mid-aged businessman and is Sid Philips's abusive father, as well as one of Scud's owners along with his son.

When he discovers that the toys are alive, he goes as far as trying to resist or fight back, just before he is defeated and he runs away from the house as he leaves Sid to his mother's care.

He is portrayed by David Beckham, who also played the Grey Gargoyle in the Marvel Fanfilm Universe.

History

Jeremy Philips is Sid's abusive and merciless father who often beats him up when he has a bad day or doesn't get enough money from work.

While Sid and his dog Scud are seen torturing and eventually murdering/destroying a toy Santa Claus, Jeremy interferes and calls Sid to accompany him at work aggressively.

After Woody scares Sid and rescues Buzz from him and from Scud, Ham tells Woody, Buzz and the other toys that Jeremy was seen from the window as he dragged Sid Philips into the house in order to torture him sadistically.

Woody came to rescue Sid since nobody deserves to be tortured by a wicked man and especially not a kid, no matter how bad he is. Sid cries and makes sure that Woody is not alive by talking to him and saying that his father tortures him and beats him up, thus influencing his behavior towards the toys.

Jeremy invades Sid's privacy in his room, and he sarcastically reminds him that toys cannot talk, before he takes a whip and sadistically lets his anger out on Sid, thus making him bleed and suffer from massive pain, all because he had a bad day at work.

However, before he could further abuse Sid, claiming that by tomorrow he shall be sent off to a boarding school, the toys arrive on a mission planned by Buzz to rescue Woody and save Sid's worthy life from Jeremy's abuse. Ham rides on Scud and orders the dog to bite Jeremy. Jeremy yells after the painful bite, and then Mr. Potato Head jumps onto Jeremy and pushes him out of the house. Jeremy threatens to murder Potato Head with his whip, but just before anything bad happens, Mrs. Potato Head brings a match and lights up the grill, thus burning him alive and injuring him, making him all black and scarred from the fire's effect.

Then, Buzz comes to him and gives him two choices; To run away or be haunted by the toys forever. Out of cowardly thoughts and ego, Jeremy chooses to run off and not come back to the house, thus leaving Sid to be taken care by his loving mother.

Trivia

• Despite being the main antagonist, Sid has more screentime and influences most of the storyline until the twist is revealed.
• Buzz tells him that the toys know everything about him. This mirrors Woody defeating Sid in the original animated movie.
