Jonah Smith, nicknamed Phosphorus is a supporting antagonist of Season 2 of All For One Redux. He’s a sadistic and massive assassin of the Wittebane Megachurch, who is one of the worst assassins in the ranks, and is far worst to his original counterpart.
The finale of season 1 revealed that Jonah was one of the few survivors of the previous Death camp for Quirk users a decade prior,
Personality[]
Originally, it was said Jonah was actually a nice guy who always tried to help someone who was down in the dumps. However, it was all changed when Jonah was kidnapped and was the only survivor of The Death Games 12 years ago. After he survived, he changed into a cruel, depraved and utterly remorseless monster who found enjoyment out of the suffering of others.
Jonah explicitly takes sexual pleasure out of inflicting pain onto his targets, and is open about it to the other assassins over his complete joy of torturing, raping and torturing his victims again just to hear them scream. It’s shown that not even kids would be safe from him, as Riley implies that if Jonah was chosen to eliminate Luz, her being underaged would not stop him from subjecting his cruelty.
Biography[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Jonah Smith’s life before the events of the story, except that he was a seemingly normal and nice guy before gaining a quirk 12 years before the events of the story, to which he was kidnapped and forced to compete in a death game created by Rodger Maxwell and Tyler Wittebane in the Witch Hunter Association, ending up as the sole survivor. When they attempted to kill him by dropping a carpet bomb on the location, his quirk made him survive, and Tyler was so impressed he let him go.
Jonah changed after that, and became a cruel, sadistic and psychopathic individual, having raped and tortured his crush named Stacey, resulting in her being paralyzed, losing her arm and unable to breath without a respirator. He was jailed but was later freed by Tyler Wittebane, going on to be his oldest assassin in his church, killing off any enemies of Tyler with complete allowance to indulge in his cruelty, subjecting his victims to horrific torture and rape just to hear them scream, something he brags to the other, more horrified, assassin members working for Tyler. In one instance, Riley Stewardson had to knock out Jonah after he subjected a college student to such horrific torture Riley had to put her out of her misery.
Summer Camp Saga[]
Jonah Smith was sent to assassinate Governor Maxwell and his army on behalf of Tyler, after failing to kill all the kidnapped kids and had got arrested by the authorities. Jonah proceeds to suffocate the former Governor before killing him with a stomp to the head, as revenge for what he put him through 12 years ago. He then proceeded to use his poison gas powers to kill the rest, tying up loose ends.
Hunt for the Wittebanes Saga[]
Jonah’s cruelty drove Riley to accepting Tyler’s offer to assassinate Luz in order to ensure that Jonah wouldn’t do it.
