Jonah Smith is a supporting antagonist In season 2 of All For Luz, serving as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Riley Stewardson) of the Death to Normality arc. He is a giant and intimidating assassin of The Wittebane Mega Church, known as one of the most sadistic and brutal one of them all.
Personality[]
Jonah Smith is one of Tyler’s top and loyal assassins, unlike the other assassins in Wittebane Church, is a complete sadist who enjoys his job, finding glee in causing suffering to his victims and disappointment when they are not afraid. He shows to not let his gigantism bother him and uses it to his advantage to terrify people and make them suffer more.
He shows a thrill in psychological tactics, using Camila’s dead body as a shield in Luz attack to make Luz think she killed her, however, when Luz uses her Super Regeneration to rebuild herself and wipe out his team, Jonah immediately becomes fearful and attempts to move away from Luz before being killed.

Past[]
Jonah Smith was born somewhere in the southern United States with Gigantism, being 10 feet tall, however he didn’t let his height bother him and had plans to become a wrestler. However, this changed when, at age 19, Jonah raped and murdered his wife and was sent to jail, which had massive news coverage around the country. After superpowers popped up, Jonah gained a Quirk where his body can became smoke and he can use it to move around and to attack. Tyler Wittebane managed to use his connections to get Jonah out of prison and gave him a specialized suit for his smog suit, gaining Jonah’s loyalty as his top assassin.
Summer Break Shenanigans arc[]
Jonah becomes one of the members of the militia, and is known by the others as an exceptionally brutal and sadistic one, as oppose to the others. After Millie and Riley fails to assassinate Luz, Jonah holds a gun to Millie’s head when she speak out against their boss on requesting the Golden Guard from Belos, getting frustrated when Tyler orders him to stand down. When given orders to assassinate Camila, Luz’s mother, Jonah seemed eager and is sent to Gravesfield by Charlie's Warping.
Death to Normality arc[]
Jonah sneaks into The Noceda house, proceeding to taunt and throw around Camila in the house with his smoke before he proceeds to kill her, when she shows no more fear in her death, with a bullet to the head. After kicking her body out of spite he gets Charlie to teleport him out of the house.
As Luz tries to go the Wittebane Mega Church to kill Tyler, she is cut off by Sophia Humbolt and the other assassins, including Jonah who engage on a brutal battle that takes out chunks of Gravesfield and kills many in the crossfire. After killing Sophia and stealing her Limitless Quirk, Jonah calls his boss for backup, before taking on the All For One user one-on-one of which he's at a disadvantage. When Luz fires her Forcefield Cannon attack at Jonah, he has Camila’s corpse teleported, via Charlie's Warping power, and used as a human shield before being blown up, he has Luz think she accidentally killed her mother, breaking her psychologically for a moment before having Charlie fire a hail of heavy-duty, military-grade gunfire, along with three flamethrowers, several grenade launchers, and multiple rocket launchers to obliterate Luz.
While initially laughing, thinking she was dead, he is horrified to see Luz reconstruct herself using her Super Regeneration, and now completely snapped due to the loss of her mother, brutally tears apart what's left of the militia, killing Charlie by ripping out her heart, stealing her Quirk and using Limitless to destroy her corpse. As Jonah, terrified, attempts back away when his attacks fail due to the girl's Shock Absorption and falls over, Luz brutally kills him with a Super Strength enhanced stomp to the head, crushing his skull.
Abilities[]
- Enhanced Strength: Due to his abnormal size, he has above average strength. With his smoke form he's able to catch multi tonne debris thrown at him with ease.
Quirk[]
- Smog: Jonah's Quirk is called "Smog", it allows him to turn his body into purple smoke to dodge attacks, sneak into places willing being cable to touch and hit his target, as well as suffocate them. It also allows him to break out of the effects gravity powers, as well. The main weakness of this power, however, is that it takes the user’s full concentration to keep it active.
- Multi-Arms: Using his Quirk, Jonah is able to create more arms made out of smoke while keeping his hands solid for rapid-fire punching.
- Black Smog: Jonah can turn his normally purple smoke black, giving it acidic properties that will eat away at its target, such as forcefields and human flesh. While it won't hinder an opponent's regeneration, it can still bypass any pain blocking power.

Trivia[]
- According to the author, Jonah was in an arranged marriage, explaining the age gap between him and his 37 year old late wife.
- According to Camila, Jonah suffers no ill effects from his gigantism. This would include constant pain and migraines. His insanely large size should also render him far more susceptible to crippling injuries.
- All For One remembers having this Quirk when he was alive in the Mutant Realm, remarking it was hard for him to control, which is why All For One never used it in combat and advised Luz to not bother stealing it. He later used it to help create Kurogiri.
- If he lived in the My Hero Academia universe his villain name would be Phospherous and would be A-Rank, due to his crimes and powers.
- In the Redux version, he was indeed named Phospherous as his pseudonym.
- He's a distant paternal cousin of Rebecca Smith from Team Heaven's Devils.
