Kill Gharst.
~ Reed in the third teaser of Elites of War

Jonathan Reed is a major antagonist in the Original Timeline of Elites of War, serving as one of the main antagonists (alongside Maso) of the first season.

He is a veteran of the Human-Covenant War who in truth was only a pawn used for genetic experiments and dealt with Gharst before and now seeks revenge to assassinate him. As a commander, he is part of the UNSC Command after joining and rising up for the right time to hunt him down.

He was voiced by Ghost Omel.

Appearance[]

It is unknown what his face looks like without his helmet, but from the description he is shown to have black hair with pink skin. The armor that Reed wears is a GEN1 Mark VI armorsuit which he is equipped with since his augmentation into becoming a Spartan II. The color schemes on his armor are white with blue shades. He is equipped with a variety of weapons as he uses both a Shotgun as his primary weapon, a Type-1 Energy Sword as his secondary weapon, and wears a katana at the back of his armor.

Personality[]

As a war veteran in his early years, he seemingly lacks any emotions to describe his expressions. That would not be entirely the case however, deep down is shown to be rather insane, vengeful, arrogant, obsessed and hateful. His insanity proves otherwise when his obsessive behavior proves to the point on how much he wanted to prove Gharst wrong to end his life in a painful death much that drove him to his own ego. This egotistical manner of his led to be ruthless, relentless and destructive in his pursue to find and hunt down his own opponent and would not stop until he fulfills his mission.

Biography[]

Past[]

Years before the end of the war, Reed's homeworld was glassed by the Covenant thus being the sole survivor on the attack and was a veteran in the Human-Covenant War when he fought against the Covenant by means to fight for humanity. In truth, he was also a genetic experiment used by his own race to fight for him. During his encounter with Gharst, his past was taken advantaged by Gharst to taunt and torture him as he made clear he was being viewed him as a pawn. To show him that he was more than that, he and Gharst clashed each other when he views it as a glorious battle. After the battle, both of them are at the edge of collapse with Gharst's men rescuing him which fill him with pure fury that they cut the battle off.

Even after the war, Reed continues his hunt to end Gharst. Before AGS 15, he became a member of the UNSC leadership and a commander in exchange to find and kill Gharst.

Elites of War[]

He was first at a UNSC outpost Silent Stzr where he eagerly has a satisfaction to kill Gharst when he hunts him down for the next time they meet. He was then informed by a soldier that Bass wishes to see him before he tells the soldier to move just to get some space to meet up with Bass. As he walk, he continues his thinking of undying thirst of how much he wished Gharst to have his end. He soon met up with Nelson as they arranged the plans to hunt down Gharst by invading Sanghelios.

With that, he and Nelson led their forces on invading only the north of the planet in their search for Gharst. During their search, they would destroy cities, prisons, many civilians and soldiers of the Alliance alike even assault on the temple. However, instead of finding Legion, they only gave Gharst and his force enough time to evacuate and regroup on the frigate. Cardium Hordros. to begin their strike on the planet. Despite the war crimes he inflicted, Reed was then reminded by Agent Doe that the charges against him will be dropped to track down the frigate then take control of it.

Presumably following this, he may have most likely failed with Sanghelios glassed.

Quotes[]

I see the way he looked at me. A pawn. A labrat. Wanted only what be as useful. But that only lead to, out of reach, toward destruction. He didn't look at me this way. I wasn't either and he was mine. I was not important to him but a worthy opponent in battle. What a glorious battle it was. Our blades clashed. His Energy Sword went towards me until it could be no use. He left his mark and I left mine. We were both at the edge of collapse and then they...THEY TOOK HIM AWAY ON A SHIP! THEY ENDED OUR BATTLE! THOSE FOOLS! In peace value, I hunted and now I will find him. I will do it once more in another ending battle. A glorious battle!
~ Reed's thoughts about his encounter and plan for Gharst while having a mental breakdown for a moment.
Move!
~ Reed ordering the soldier to move aside.
