Hmm nah, I'm not a toady, I'm more of a how should I say it? Guardian of Zerberker's fortress that's all.
~ Kapunki explaining his significance in Zerberker's army.
Um, I don't wanna hassle you but, I got another gig at 3:00 you know. I gotta go before I'm late.
~ Kapunki's last words before leaving.

Kapunki is a minor antagonist in the fanfic story, The Pure Good's Fanatic which is the sequel of Shake On The Run, He serves as the secondary antagonist in the Xena: Warrior Princess portion of the story. He is a Yo-kai who serves as one of Zerberker's minions and also notably serves as the guardian of his fortress.

Personality[]

Kapunki shows himself to be a formidable, dedicated yet comical servant of Zerberker. He tends to behave in a comedic manner as mentioned before. He tends to crack jokes even in the middle of fights. He is also a very skilled and competent fighter as during his fight with Xena, he showed himself to be a formidable opponent and was athletic enough to dodge most of her attacks. He is also quite affable as rather than trying to defeat the other heroes after Xena's defeat, he instead decides to play a guessing game with them for fun despite knowing he had them at his mercy.

Appearance[]

As he is a fanonized version of Kapunki, he looks exactly like him. Being an orange short humanoid Yo-kai with a yellow shirt, a teal belt, teal sandals, and a small brown patch of chest hair that resembles a wisp. He also has a small brown ponytail (that is also shaped like a wisp) on top of his head. He has a wide head that is painted white (save for his ears) and his Kabuki makeup is black and red (although some his lower lip is painted white). He also has a pink nose, and he has a purple staff. It should also be noted that he is the rare counterpart of Sushiyama.

History[]

Earlier Information[]

According to Kapunki himself, during a performance in 1998, Hidabat suggested to him that he should buy a "pompadour hat", although he misinterpreted the suggestion as biting the head off a bat which he did so. It is unknown if he was serving Zerberker during this time or he joined him sometime later.

Shake On The Run[]

Although Kapunki does not appear in Shake On The Run, it is obvious that he was killed by the Uggie Wuggie Virus after Shake contaminated Earth with a spreading glitchy blob-like mass that ate away much of Earth and killed everyone on it. After Frylock destroyed Shake and consumed his power, he restored reality to its original state and revived everyone who was alive prior including Kapunki.

The Pure Good's Fanatic[]

Kapunki first appears where after Negatibuzz disposes of Babblong, he, Xena, Gabrielle, and Fidgephant make it to the entrance of Zerberker's fortress but before they can enter, Kapunki ambushes them. Xena interprets him as another random minion of Zerberker only for Kapunki to reveal his status as the guardian of Zerberker's fortress. Xena isn't fazed while Kapunki admits he sees that she is underestimating him. Fidgephant becomes scared and Gabrielle points out that Kapunki if giving off bad vibes only for Kapunki to respond with "It's about f*ckin' time you learn that I'm one of the bad guys." Negatibuzz attempts to attack with magic, but Kapunki avoids it. After Xena gets angered at Kapunki's dodge. Negatibuzz compares him to Yoda. Kapunki beckons Xena to fight him and Kapunki attacks by jabbing Xena with his staff. Xena seems to equal his might, but he runs under her and kicks the back of her head. Fidgephant attempts to assist Xena by inspiriting Kapunki, but he dodges which causes Xena to get inspirited. This is enough to make her threaten Fidgephant despite him informing her that it was an accident. Kapunki then ragebaits Xena and kicks her face until she takes hold of him. Kapunki then tells the story mentioned in the Earlier Information section from above and he frees himself from Xena's grasp by poking her eyes and then quickly leaping to her neck to pinch a nerve. Xena becomes (temporarily as stated by Kapunki himself) paralyzed and the others are shocked that Kapunki defeated her. Kapunki points out that Xena is now urinating since she can't hold it in thanks to her paralysis. Kapunki tries to get the heroes to leave, but they refuse. Kapunki decides to play a game with the heroes, telling them he is thinking of a movie that is "one word and it starts with spider". Negatibuzz correctly guesses Spider-Man which leads to Kapunki praising him for getting it right. Kapunki then tells the heroes that he has a gig at 3:00 and runs away to hopefully get there on time. After he leaves, Zerberker's fortress becomes accessible to the heroes and Xena frees herself from the paralysis.

Trivia[]

  • Many of Kapunki's mannerisms and lines parody characters that were played by the late Ozzy Osbourne. The 1998 bat joke also parodies a scene from the South Park episode, Chef Aid which in turn parodies the infamous real-life incident where Osbourne bit a bat's head off.
