Kayaba Akihiko
Kayaba Akihiko, also known as Heathcliff, is the main antagonist of the Aincrad Arc in SAO Abridged. He is the creator of Sword Art Online.
Personality[]
Originally, Kayaba seemed to be malicious and vile to his core, but it is shown that he was actually just mentally weak due to needing sleep. Kayaba gets angry pretty easily, even killing someone when they shown sass towards him. Similar to Kirito, has a hatred for humanity after watching them die in the most avoidable ways, and says that it's so stupid that it can justify the killing of all humans. Kayaba is also a huge movie geek, knowing some of the most obscure movies in the world. Kayaba also cares for people in some strange weird way, but only to benefit him.
Appearance[]
Kayaba has short grey hair, eyes with a darker shade of grey, he also wears a white shirt with a necktie and a lab coat on top. As Heathcliff, he is muscular and tall and physically stronger than his real life self.
Relationships[]
Kirito[]
Kayaba and Kirito's relationship is an interesting one. They both relate to each other as intelligent, movie-loving people surrounded by idiots. In fact, Kirito was the reason why he made the Heathcliff persona, as Kayaba was confused on why Kirito wouldn't make a guild. However, since Kirito evolved from the boy who hated humanity and escaped into video games, and he disagreed on Kayaba's way of dealing with idiots and battled him to free him and the other players from the game.
After he lost, Kayaba states that he was gonna miss speaking to him and revealed his motive, which turns out that all of it was a mistake. This disappointed Kirito who believed he was a conniving schemer.
Asuna[]
There isn't much known about Asuna and Kayaba's relationship, but they seem to dislike each other to an extent such as Asuna not liking the fact he tried to use her as a way to convince Kirito to use her in his guild and Kayaba insisting it was a compliment.
Also when Asuna though a line a movie scene Kayaba liked wasn't good and he called her a whore and told her that he could kill her with a thought. Also, when Asuna tried to convince Kayaba to release the paralysis on everyone, he refused and even believed that she was trying to set him on fire with her mind
Powers and Abilities[]
Intelligence- Kayaba developed the Nerve Gear, a device that cloud create a MMMORPG like SAO and the Never Gear could also scan your real life abilities to assign your base stats correspondingly.
Swordsmanship- Kayaba is a master at his combat system which he made.
Divine Blade- This skill allowed a player to switch between offense and defense. It also gives the player so much defense that they might as well be invincible.
