King Ghidorah, formerly known as Prince Zero and briefly known as Mecha-King Ghidorah, is the overall main antagonist of Captaintaco2345's Godzilla Warriors series on Wattpad. He serves as the main antagonist of Godzilla Warriors, a posthumous antagonist in Godzilla Warriors 2: The Guardian, a supporting anti-villain in Godzilla Warriors 3: The Awakening (after he was resurrected), a minor antagonist in Godzilla Warriors 6: Breach, and he is set to be the main antagonist of the upcoming Godzilla Warriors 10. He is also the villain protagonist of the spin-off prequel Ghidorah: The Warrior King, and the main antagonist of Godzilla vs Tahu, the crossover between Godzilla Warriors and Captaintaco's other series, Bionicle: Renewal. He is the ruler of the Ghidorah Empire of Venus, who seeks to take over Earth for its resources. He leads his own army of villainous alien Kaiju, and is the arch-enemy of Godzilla. Unlike most versions of King Ghidorah, this version is very humanoid in appearance.

Description[]

Ghidorah is very tall and lean, and wears distinctive golden armor that includes a chestplate over a dark yellow shirt, boots, dark yellow pants, a golden cape, a golden belt, and a golden, dragon-like helmet that covers the top half of his head, with filters over the eyeholes that make his eyes glow white, but leaves his mouth exposed.

Underneath the helmet, he has long, refined, brown hair, dark yellow eyes, and a large scar across his face. He is also stated to be in his late 60's or early 70's, but looks like a man in his physical prime.

Personality[]

Ghidorah's characterization has been slightly inconsistent throughout the series. In most appearances, he is shown to be very serious, and somewhat affable, even to his enemies. He is also shown to have an honorable side, as he was willing to work with Godzilla and his allies in Book 3 to stop his brother, Desghidorah, and he even showed some sadness at Mothra's funeral. However, this honorable side seems to have been a more recent development of his personality, as in the first book, he was willing to cause mass destruction just to kill Godzilla, and even goaded Muto into killing herself when she failed to beat Godzilla in a duel. He is also shown to be very manipulative and ambitious, especially as a teenager in The Warrior King, when he talked Gigan (who was a prisoner at the time) into joining him by giving him weaponized prosthetic arms to replace his lost arms, which led to Gigan becoming his right-hand man in the main series. He was also willing to kill his own father, Lord Ghidorah, in his sleep in order to become king, once again showing that his honorable side was a more recent development. He is also shown to be capable of feeling love, both friendly, almost familial love for his allies and romantic love for Slattern.

History[]

Ghidorah: The Warrior King

Ghidorah was originally known as Prince Zero, and was the youngest son of Lord Ghidorah. He was trained in the art of combat by Orochi, one of Lord Ghidorah's strongest warriors, and he eventually met Gigan, a Xilien spy who was captured and tortured before being turned into a super-soldier. At Prince Zero's suggestion, Gigan was given prosthetic arms that could shift into various weapons. Zero eventually approached Gigan with an offer to grant him his freedom in exchange for helping him kill Lord Ghidorah. However, Lord Ghidorah was already dead when Zero got to him, having been poisoned by Zero's brothers, but Zero became king anyway as he was the one who discovered the body. After being coronated, Zero changed his name to King Ghidorah. Years later, his home planet, Venus, began suffering an energy crisis. Zero went to Earth to get resources, only to come into conflict with Gojira and Mosura. He would later find himself fighting Gojira's son, Godzilla, and Mosura's daughter, Mothra.

Godzilla Warriors

Ghidorah invades Earth with an army of Kaiju (consisting of Gigan, Biollante, Hedorah, Destroyah, Kumonga, Orga, MechaGodzilla, Krystalak, and Obsidius), which causes Godzilla to form an army of his own. Ghidorah later manages to manipulate Muto and Battra into joining his side, and attacks Japan. There are casualties on both sides, but Ghidorah fights Godzilla and ends up retreating. After retreating, Destroyah outfits him with cybernetic implants to become Mecha-King Ghidorah. He fights Godzilla in Earth's orbit, and is vaporized by an atomic blast.

Godzilla Warriors 2: The Guardian

Ghidorah only appears in the epilogue, when Gigan resurrects him using SpaceGodzilla's resurrection crystals.

Godzilla Warriors 3: The Awakening

Ghidorah approaches Godzilla with the proposition of an alliance in order to stop his brothers, Desghidorah and X. He eventually manages to help Godzilla and his allies kill both of his brothers.

Godzilla Warriors 4: The Forgotten

Ghidorah appears in the epilogue, where the newly-resurrected Hokmuto is seen joining his army.

Godzilla Warriors 6: Breach

Ghidorah only appears in the epilogue, where he finds Slattern and recruits her to his army.

Godzilla Warriors 9: Cloverfield

Ghidorah only appears in the epilogue, where he intercepts SpaceGodzilla's ship and intimidates him into joining his army, having traveled to another universe and recruited his three-headed dragon counterpart.

Abilities[]

Superhuman Strength: Ghidorah is shown to be strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Godzilla, who is strong to toss around tanks, cars, and other Kaiju with his bare hands. Just like with just about every other character in the series, the true extent of Ghidorah's strength is unknown, although he's stated to be weaker than his brothers, Desghidorah and X.

Superhuman Durability: Ghidorah can take a truly phenomenal amount of punishment, as Godzilla had to go all-out to kill him in Book 1.

Flight: Like all members of his species, Ghidorah can fly through unknown means (possibly through the manipulation of gravity).

Vaccuum Respiration: As Mecha-King Ghidorah, he can breathe and talk in space.

Gyrokinesis: Ghidorah and his brothers are able to manipulate gravitational forces, and he often combines this ability with his electrokinetic powers to create "Graviton Beams".

Electrokinesis: Ghidorah is able to shoot lightning from his hands, which he is able to combine with his gyrokinetic powers to telekinetically manipulate his opponents.

Cybernetic Implants: As Mecha-King Ghidorah, his strength and durability are vastly enhanced, he can fly faster thanks to his mechanic wings, and he can breathe in space.

Master Swordsman: Ghidorah was trained from a young age in the art of swordplay, and wields two katanas with expert precision and grace.

Longevity: Ghidorah is in his late 60's to early 70's, but looks much younger.

Genius-Level Intellect: Ghidorah is shown to be highly intelligent, even smarter than his brothers, and is an excellent strategist.

Trivia[]

  • Ghidorah doesn't watch movies or television, doesn't listen to any music except war anthems, and doesn't have a favorite food as he draws most of his nutrients from the sun.
  • Ghidorah's combat trainer, Orochi, is a reference to Yamata-no-Orochi, an eight-headed dragon from Japanese legend who also appeared in the Toho film Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon.
  • Ghidorah hates his brothers, but also shares a deep brotherly bond with them.
  • Ghidorah's relationship with Gigan is a reference to Godzilla vs. Gigan, in which Ghidorah also appeared as an antagonist.
  • Ghidorah's original name, Prince Zero, is a reference to his frequent alias, Monster Zero, in the movies.
