King Herod I is the central antagonist of the 2023 theatrical production of The Life of Jesus.
He specifically serves as the main antagonist of act 1, the secondary antagonist of act 2 and one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside The Devil) of act 3.
He is the former tyrannical leader of Jerusalem, who is obsessed with the idea of killing Jesus, and will stop at nothing to do so.
