Koishi Komeiji is the titular main protagonist of Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure. Unlike her canon self, an absent-minded but kind-hearted satori youkai, this Koishi is incredibly psychotic and easily provoked to violence.
Biography[]
Birth[]
While it isn’t explicitly stated, it is heavily implied that Koishi was born from Eirin Yagokoro impregnating herself using a single strand of Kaguya Houraisan’s hair. creating a child intended to serve as a decoy for the Lunarians, who seek to return Kaguya back to Lunarian Capital. Thought she later get exiled and cast into space soon after.
1980s[]
Koishi Komeiji was drifting aimlessly through space when a massive Lunarian spacecraft collided with her, brutally shattering her body into pieces. Only her third eye survived the impact, falling to Earth and eventually landing in Japan.
After her descent, Koishi was taken in by her sister, Satori Komeiji. The two wandered across Japan together. One night, Koishi witnessed a tragic scene a woman, driven to despair by societal pressure and her husband’s divorce, drowned her own infant. Overcome by emotion, Koishi possessed the corpse of the child and murdered the woman.
Following the incident, Koishi took over the woman’s body and wandered through a crowded street, pleading for someone to save the deceased infant. Her erratic behavior drew ridicule from the crowd until she encountered a cameraman, possessed by Satori, who had become involved in the Lunarian conspiracy. The Lunarians broadcast the event live, overwhelming Koishi with mental interference. In agony, Koishi’s third eye forcibly shut itself, triggering a violent outburst that massacred everyone present. After the carnage, Watatsuki no Toyohime transferred both Komeiji sisters to Gensokyo.

October 3rd[]
On October 3rd, Koishi left the Palace of the Earth Spirits, telling Satori she was going fishing. While wandering the surface, she encountered Hong Meiling and asked to borrow a fishing rod. Meiling refused, prompting Koishi to climb over the Scarlet Devil Mansion gate in defiance. Meiling struck her down to stop her, but Koishi retaliated by tearing out her spine and entering the mansion casually.
Inside, Koishi was confronted by Flandre Scarlet, who sought revenge for Meiling’s injury. A brutal fight followed, ending with Koishi’s victory. She broke Flandre’s wings and attempted to pluck out her eyes to fashion a makeshift fishing rod and bait. However, before she could continue, Satori, who was brought to the scene by Koakuma, intervened and stopped her rampage. Koishi was later confined in the Palace of the Earth Spirits as punishment.
October 4th[]
At some point, Koishi escaped from her confinement in the Palace of the Earth Spirits. Overcome with guilt, she attempted to find her sister to apologize for her earlier actions. However, she was intercepted by Yukari Yakumo, who suspected Koishi of being the source of the spreading madness across Gensokyo. A fierce battle ensued, ending with Yukari severing Koishi’s limbs and decapitating her.
Moments after Yukari’s own death at the hands of Reisen II, the tentacles from Koishi’s mutilated corpse began to move. They latched onto Yukari’s remains, merging the two into a single being known as Koishi Yakumo. The hybrid entity resurfaced in Gensokyo. Although Yukari retained fragments of consciousness, Koishi’s will dominated the vessel.
Under Yukari’s faint influence, Koishi Yakumo made her way toward the Scarlet Devil Mansion and eventually followed Reimu Hakurei and her group to the Hakurei Shrine, where they attempted to prevent the destruction of the Great Hakurei Barrier. Koishi herself remained unseen for much of this conflict, until Yukari momentarily seized control of their shared body and confronted Watatsuki no Yorihime. The attempt failed, and Koishi Yakumo was instead met by Kaguya Houraisan, who hands her an undiluted solution of the Rain of Detoxification. Shortly before Kaguya being captured and the barrier was destroyed by Flandre Scarlet.
Outside World[]
After the events of the Moonlight Descent Ceremony, Koishi and Yukari became separated, each regaining individual form. The two took refuge in an abandoned mansion located somewhere in Germany. Seven years passed since the Lunarians had transformed all living beings, both humans and animals, into Satori, each bearing their own third eye.
One day, Yukari grew frustrated with Koishi’s detached and indifferent demeanor. She lashed out, condemning Koishi’s willful ignorance of the world’s ruin and urging her to face reality. Deeply shaken by Yukari’s words, Koishi made a fateful decision: she forcibly reopened her sealed third eye.
Following her recovery, Koishi and Yukari left the mansion together, stepping out into the desolate world beyond.

- According to Toyohime from finale 4/9, she stated that Koishi wasn't her true name, but a name given by Satori after she found her, which implies the relationship between between Toyohime and Koishi prior her exiled.
