“ | In this time of great crisis, it appears that our last line of defence has failed. Despite his dedication in ushering in a new age of prosperity and freedom, the Chief Executive has... underestimated just how grave the situation has become. It is to this end, the Chief Executive has enlisted the help of the Kenpeitai to assist in destroying these bandits. ~ Komai Kenchirou |
Komai Kenchirou is a major antagonist of The New Order: Last Days of Europe, a mod for Hearts of Irons 4. He is one of the four candidates for the Japanese-occupied State of Guangdong's chief executive and a disgraced former Manchurian executive.
Komai is the main antagonist of Silicon Dreams, serving as the main antagonist of the paths of Sony, Matsushita and Fujitsu, as well as a minor character in the hidden IJA's path.
However, Komai is also able to become the villainous main protagonist of Hitachi's path, which will kick itself in only after the other three chief executives fail to prevent Hitachi's coup.

Trivia[]
- Komai is the only chief executive that only rose to power at the middle of the storyline, not the beginning of it.
- Technically, no matter who runs the place or what the results was, there will be no true "good ending" (at least on either the in-universe Chinese perspective or anti-fascism's perspective) for TNO's Guangdong, as long as the Japanese still occupies the region, unless it is liberated by the Chinese resistance such as Long Yun. However, Hitachi's Personalist path can be seen as the worst "successful" path of Guangdong, if not the worst one of the entire storyline.
- Komai is considered to be the worst chief executive of the State of Guangdong, despite all four of them being technically villain protagonists.
- At the very least, the other three executives will at least have some extent of mitigating factors in their "successful" paths.
- As for the IJA path, despite being a downer ending for the chief executives, it will bring more chances for more Chinese resistance to rise further and destroy the State of Guangdong, while indirectly pushing Komai to the death he deserved in the ensuing chaos. In the end, Hitachi's downfall indirectly sparked further Chinese resistance and gave them chances to retaliate against the IJA's tyranny.
- However, Komai has no mitigating factor, and he only cares about making Guangdong his own land full of slavery and horror. His own "good ending" had snuffed out any hope to save Guangdong from his claws, making it the worst ending for the local Chinese people.
- On the perspective of the executives and the main characters in Guangdong, both parts of Hitachi path, especially its Personalist path, is basically the second worst path of Guangdong next to the hidden IJA path (which will destroy them all).
- If Muto Akira took over Japan as its new prime minister following the failed investigation of Dai Li's conspiracy, Komai would be horrified by the news and wondered what would Muto do to Guangdong.
