When this is over, all dimensions will be burned away in a flood of fire… into nothingness.
~ Kronos to his servant, Mordred.

Kronos, also known as The Draknagoth is set to be the fanmade overarching antagonist of the Tales of Arcadia franchise, serving as the unseen overarching antagonist of Fall of the Arcane Order: Before the Tales, the overarching antagonist of 3Below, an unseen antagonist in Trollhunters and Wizards, and one of the two main antagonists (alongside Mordred) of the Misry6 rewrite of Rise of the Titans.

He is the King of the Titans and leader of the Dark Kings who desires to escape from Tartarus and destroy the multiverse out of revenge against his creator Khaos and his parents Uranus and Gaia, using his servant Mordred the Morbid and grandchildren Bellroc and Skrael to carry out his dark agenda. He is the archenemy of the Olympic Gods, most notably Hades and Gaea/Nimue.

His headcanon voice is Benedict Cumberbatch, who played Smaug and Sauron in The Hobbit film trilogy, Khan Noonien Singh in Star Trek: Into Darkness, William Ford in 12 Years a Slave, Frankenstein's Monster and Dr. Victor Frankenstein on stage, Dormammu in Doctor Strange, the Grinch in the 2018 film of the same name, Shere Khan in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and Strange Supreme in What If…?.

Biography[]

War Against the Gods[]

Kronos was born as Cronus to the gods Uranus and Gaia and had eleven siblings. Eventually, he was given the responsibility of ruling over the multiverse, in the process becoming King of the Titans. However, Cronus became extremely self-centered and believed that all of creation itself revolved only around him, due to him being the most powerful of the Titans and the youngest. Hatching a plan to overthrow his parents and do the same to the multiverse's creator Khaos, Cronus deceived the Titans with promises of power and authority, all except for one named Atlas, who chose morality over dominance. He then introduced the concept of evil into the multiverse, throwing it into dismay.

Due to Cronus' treachery, Gaia foretold a prophecy that one of his sons would take his crown and overthrow him as Ruler of the Multiverse, so Cronus decided that he would marry the fellow goddess Rhea in an abusive relationship so he would never have a son, leaving him baffled when he had sons of his own. He devoured the souls of his first five children, but Rhea stole away Zeus and hid him. Gaia sent a wave of uncontrolled magic into Kronos which forced him to release the souls of his children, while Uranus threw him down into the planet Earth, thus sparking a war known as the Titanomachy which lasted for eons. From that day on, Cronus was known as "Kronos" to his enemies.

As the Gods and the Titans clashed in the cosmos for the control of all magic, Kronos created every extinction event in the Earth's history. One of the most infamous ones was when he transformed himself into an asteroid made of uncontrolled magic and wiped out the dinosaurs in the K-T extinction event 65 million years ago. However, the Gods eventually destroyed his body, which enraged the Titans because they wanted the power their leader promised them, but Kronos himself they could not find; he created yet another body from the Earth's dust and took on the alias of "Gaylen" to trick the Gods. Gaylen crushed the stars in his hand and created Akiridion-5 from its dust, and Khaos made the Akiridions so that Gaylen would accept that not everything revolves around him.

When Rhea, now known as Seklos, tried to stop him from further abusing his authority, Gaylen decided that the Akiridions should never have had free will in the first place, and now that his ego was bruised, he attempted to destroy Akiridion-5 out of spite. Thus, Seklos ripped out her own core and inserted it into her cannon, which she used to shoot Gaylen and separate his core from his body. Now at the brink of defeat, Kronos plummeted back to Earth during the Ice Age and once more rallied the Titans against the Gods, but they banished him and the Titans into the realm of Tartarus, where Kronos has been plotting his escape for millennia.

Plotting His Escape[]

Personality[]

They don't call him "the Draknagoth" for no reason. Kronos is horrifying. He may take on a light appearance, but if he's not stopped, he'll raze the entire multiverse out of petty spite.
~ Hades, warning the Guardians of Arcadia about Kronos.

Kronos is a textbook narcissist, believing that all of creation must either revolve around him or be utterly destroyed. This viewpoint began when he saw how powerful he was becoming in comparison to the other Titans, and his status as the multiverse's ruler. This led Kronos to become envious of his grandfather Khaos and hated him for having the power to create life and not himself.

He cares about no one other than himself and has no regret for his actions, and after being banished to Tartarus, he now pledges himself to wipe out all of existence by undoing the Third Configuration Prophecy and using his servant Mordred to carry on his dark deeds. He is also a manipulator as he led all Titans but Atlas against their superiors by promising them more power, yet is unconcerned for them, as he left them to be defeated by the Olympian Gods after they destroyed his original physical form.

Trivia[]

  • This version of Kronos is created as an analogy of Satan, being a supernatural entity who rebels against his superiors and brings the concept of evil into the multiverse. His title of "the Draknagoth" is a reference to Satan's title of "the Devil", and he was once known as Cronus in the Rise of the Titans rewrite as Satan was once known as Lucifer in the Bible.
