Maruta Shiga, also better known by his other villainous aliases Dr. Kyudai Garaki and Daruma Ujiko, is an antagonist in version All For Luz redux . He is one of All For One's loyal servants and has been working for him ever since his rise to power to his defeat against All Might. He is also the scientist that notably created the first Nomus.

Maruta Shiga was born to an unnamed woman and his father, Kiyoshi Shiga, who was infamous for committing war crimes in his world and was executed for them, so he had to legally change his name to Kyudai Garaki in order to distance himself from him.

- Life Force - His original Quirk. Kyudai was believed to have been a Quirkless man. In truth, however, he possesses a longevity Quirk called Life Force, which doubles his lifespan, granting him a more youthful appearance at the expense of physical prowess. He has lived for over 120 years. The Quirk he currently has is a duplicate however, as his original Quirk was offered to All For One.
- Mud Warp - All For One gave him another Quirk called "Mud Warp" that allows him to teleport himself and other people.
Abilities[]
- Genius intellect - Having devoted his long life to the research of Quirks, Kyudai is very knowledgeable on the subject, while also coming to theorise how Quirks would become more powerful as the generations pass, believing that they would eventually go out of control (a theory called "Quirk Singularity", which he was shunned and ostracised for). Furthermore, as Kyudai has a degree in bio-engineering, he's also a genius in terms of biology and technology, having created the Nomus and being able to store and duplicate Quirks for them as part of "Project Copy".
- Medical expertise - Despite not having a medical degree, Kyudai has shown to be a very skilled doctor. All For One plans to meet Dr. Garaki back in his world to the same genetic augmentations on Luz as he did to his own body to hold more Quirks and make her body stronger.
Equipment[]
- Taser Gun - Garaki carries a taser gun on his person in case he needs to defend himself. He able to use this to incapacitate Eda when she accidently broke into his lab.
Trivia[]
- If he and Luz/Toshiko were to meet, Dr. Garaki would see her as the reincarnation of his master, All For One. Toshiko/Luz in turn would see him as an old man desperate for her attention, only complying with him because she sees it as no other option.
